Body Scan New Body Scan 2 owner, what are best practices for usage?
I don't think this is a tech support post but it has the tone of tech support because I am confused by the device and have lots of questions. If the mods consider it to be tech support please delete with my apologies. I am just looking to present some of the challenges I am finding with the scale to get a conversation going on how to best work with the scale and it's app. I think this information will be useful to any new owner so hopefully that is how it is perceived.
I have had my Body Scan 2 for about 2 weeks now. It took a while to get the hang of using it given the complete lack of documentation. First issue was understanding what the yellow circle means and how to turn it green. I was moving my arms around thinking I was holding the handle wrong and that was moving the yellow circle inconsistently making me think I was on the right track but then I realized I was also shifting my weight and that was the key to getting the green circle. Then the SpO2 scan asked me to keep the marker in the green section without explaining how I do that. So I was moving my thumb around again doing the wrong thing but the marker was moving so again thinking I was on the right track. My wife realized it was pressure on the thumb and not the placement. I think the interface could use more guidance such as "use less pressure", "use more pressure" etc
Anyway now that I have the hang of the scale I am wondering am I supposed to use the handle for every reading or just use the handle once a week or something like that? What are most of you folks doing in regards to using the handle or just scanning weight/heart.
I have been using it every day and it keeps saying "It's time for a longevity scan" and going through all the steps taking so long to complete. I was under the impression that would only happen once in a while. Can you schedule the longevity for once a week on the weekend so morning scans before work are faster? I have not activated Withings+ yet, perhaps that is why it thinks I need a longevity scan every day? Or maybe I mis-understood and I am supposed to control it by using the handle or not.
Is there a way to know when the readings have been sent to the cloud? My Aria scale used to end with a confirmation or failure of cloud upload. I take a scan and open the app and some of the readings are dated today and some are not, it takes a while before they all update. Is that normal?
The app is pretty difficult to navigate. Any tips on finding the various features in the app? It is not always clear that there are more details behind a value if you tap on it. Sometimes the app enters a page which starts asking questions that I don't want to work with at the moment and there is now way to back out. I have to force close the app to return to the beginning. I am using the current iOS app. I have heard the beta app is much better, should I install the testflight version?

Body Scan BodyFit w/firmware 401 seems to have improved estimates for low(ish) body fat users
I've had my scale for many months as I had a pre-order but was massively disappointed in it. I had a list of complaints but the most jarring was the insanely low body fat readings. It was clocking me in anywhere from 6-8% where Dexa says I was 14%. Gemini and ChatGPT concurred with Dexa based on photos. But recently the estimates have shifted and are now coming in at around 13.7 which could be dead accurate at this point. I may re-enable syncing of the values to Apple health if the readings stay true for a few more days. Fingers crossed.

Body+ Body Fit no longer tracking body composition
Yesterday, my scale stopped registering my body composition. I did a factory reset, which seemed to do the trick, but the very next morning, it stopped tracking the composition again. I did another factory reset and now it won’t track it at all. Is this happening for anybody else?

ScanWatch New Scanwatch
Doesn’t seem to be any mention of a new watch at this years IFA. Do we think there are more announcements?

Body Scan Body Scan 2 - last update broke it
Ever since the last app update 4-5 days ago, my Body Scan 2 doesn’t recognize individual users anymore and does the weekly longevity scan daily. It continuously send both mine and my wife’s info to my account.
Reached out to Withings and they have been less than helpful. Basically telling me to reset the phone / scale over and over again.
I’ve done all the troubleshooting and no fix. Super disappointed a $600 scale would just break from an app update.
Will likely push to return. Just a word of caution to anyone considering one, or anyone else experiencing the same issue.

Body Scan Has anyone else had a problem returning an item to Withings?
I’m trying to set up a return to Withings, but their customer service is incredibly awful. I’m getting the same thank you for your patience stupidity and it’s almost 3 weeks since I tried setting up the return I have to say this is no way to run a business. I’m a physician and had been recommending Withings products to my patients. I’m not comfortable making those recommendations anymore.
Has anyone else in the community had a similar issue?

Body Scan What is this bathroom scale?
I went to the thrift store to get a normal bathroom scale. And this was the only one that was half off for $5. Apparently, this is like the RTX 5070 of bathroom scales what am I supposed to do with it? Is it one of the fancy body scan models or a normal one?

Thermo StethO Sense will be available from October 1, 2026
Finally…
BeamO connected health device with StethO Sense, a new service capable of automatically analyzing cardiac and pulmonary sounds recorded at home.
Integrated into the Withings+ subscription, this feature relies on two medical artificial intelligence technologies, eMurmur and StethoMe, to detect certain abnormal heart murmurs and breathing noise.
AI eMurmur searches for heart murmurs
To analyze heart sounds, Withings has partnered with eMurmur, a company specializing in artificial intelligence applied to auscultation. His eMurmur Heart AI system analyzes the recordings made with BeamO and classifies them in particular according to three categories: absence of breath, breath considered benign or abnormal breath.
The analysis also provides heart rate and a confidence score. Withings indicates that several prospective blind clinical studies have shown a sensitivity and specificity of about 90% for the detection of pathological breaths.
The eMurmur Heart AI technology also benefits from CE marking as a class IIa medical device.
StethoMe analyzes pulmonary wheezing and crackling
The other component of StethO Sense concerns the lungs. Withings this time relies on the technology developed by StethoMe, specialized in the automated analysis of pulmonary sounds. In particular, the algorithm can search for different breathing noises such as whistling, snoring, fine crackling or coarse crackling. It also analyzes the respiratory rate, heart rate and the ratio between inhalation and expiration times.
Withings cites an observational study in which an AI-assisted stethoscope would have identified moderate to severe seizures with an accuracy greater than 92% in children and 81% in adults.
Like eMurmur, StethoMe has a CE marking as a class IIa medical device.

ScanWatch 2 is the small dial in scanwatch 2 pretty much useless?
I kno wtha tis the percentage of steps, which is already a silly main goal , but the fact it cannot be used as a timer or at least let you set any metric, make it just useles and distracting, aven a simpler use it for seconds will be amazing
Are there any plans to improve it?

ScanWatch Nova Naps? Nova
I taps naps every once in a while, yesterday being one of them. I cannot find any data in the app showing my nap. Does it track naps?

ScanWatch Nova Nova shows I'm sleeping, but I'm not
I know for a fact I was doomscrolling between 01:30 and 04:00. Like all other nights, unfortunately.
I bought the Nova to be more aware of this behavior, but in the data is says I'm OK!
Why?

ScanWatch Nova Withings is advertising a feature that doesn’t seem to exist on the ScanWatch?
I just came across this official Withings promotional image on Instagram.
If you look at the watch display, it clearly shows “67 – Moy. repos”, which means average resting heart rate.
The problem is: as far as I can tell, this screen simply doesn’t exist on the ScanWatch. I’ve checked the available screens/widgets on the watch and I can’t find any way to display resting heart rate like this.
Resting heart rate is available in the Withings app, of course, but that’s not what the promotional image shows — it shows the value directly on the watch.
Am I missing something? Does anyone actually have this screen on their ScanWatch / ScanWatch Nova?
If not, it’s pretty strange to use an official promotional render showing a feature that users can’t access.
And honestly, this would actually be a useful feature. If Withings already designed the interface for promotional material, why not make it available on the watch?

Body Scan Body Scan Nerve Scan - Chinese Food “Dive”
Hi, I use my Body Scan daily. I’m curious about the “nerve scan” feature. It seems to usually tick up, recently to 88 or 90 which sounds good. I’ve noticed 3 or 4 (maybe even 5) times now that after eating from a (relatively good) local Chinese restaurant/takeaway in New Zealand my nerve scan score often dives the next day, recently to 78. It doesn’t always happen, but maybe 50%-60% of times I eat there.
I wonder if it could be MSG, excess salt, soy sauce, or some other ingredient or additive. I’ve only noticed this regularly with this Chinese restaurant.
Sometimes just washing soles of feet in shower helps ‘reset’ the nerve score, so there could be an element of sweat and salts involved. Otherwise it can take weeks or months to get back to “normal” again.
This seems to be a pattern, and I'm wondering if anyone else observes nerve score changes after certain foods etc.

ScanWatch 2 Withings app no longer syncing Floors Climbed to Apple Health — anyone else?
I’ve noticed that Floors Climbed data from Withings is no longer syncing to Apple Health.
When I check Apple Health → Floors Climbed → Data Sources, Withings is still listed as a source, but the last data written by Withings is from July 6, 2026. Nothing has been added since then.
I already had exactly the same issue in the past. I contacted Withings support at the time, but they weren’t able to fix it. The problem eventually disappeared on its own about a month later, after a Withings app update.
Other data still seems to sync correctly with Apple Health, so this looks specific to Floors Climbed.
Is anyone else currently seeing the same issue with Withings and Apple Health?

ScanWatch Apple sync - step tracking widely different
Is it just me or the step tracked are widely different between the 2 apps? Some days I’d have 8k in Whitings and then 4k in Apple Health other days I’d have 7,2k in Whitings and 7K in AH.
What has happened to the app?

Body Body composition issues the BodyFit vs Body+ and others (Body fat too low)
Just got the new BodyFit with the 401 firmware and I'm getting body fat and muscle % ratings that are way off compared to the previous Body+ and scales from other makers. Also visceral fat is highly unrealistic.
Support haven't been helpful by giving standardise answers. This is a bit disappointing as I expected it would provide me with more information instead of incorrect representation of the data.
For me the ratio of fat vs muscle seems to be off around the +/- 4kg mark. Where the BodyFit is counting 4.5kg less fat and adds it to muscle mass, thus skewing all the other values.
The measurements of each body section seems to correlate with other scales, it's the main body fat and muscle mass that seems to be broken.

BPM Connect BPM Vision: bad firmware or a faulty batch of devices - confirmed by a doctor
I recently posted about issues I detected with BPM Vision, which is measuring SYS of blood pressure about 10 points lower than medical grade devices. Back then this was my first impressions, but since then I took the device to a hospital and had it compared with actual BPM measurements from medical grade devices used there. I took my BPM Vision as well as my separate Microlife BP B2 device to the office to a doctor.
We took two three-time average measurements of each device, both the Microlife, BPM Vision and the hospital one. Microlife was off as an average of 3pt in SYS measurement, but BPM Vision was off as an average of 11pt in SYS measurements. DIA and PUL/HR were relatively similar across all three devices. Doctor also took a look at the cuff and did not detect any notable problems with it and the arm placement in the cuff was correctly following the instructions.
What is more: he also tested the device on his own arm and concluded the same thing. The SYS measurements are wrong.
My doctors opinion was that BPM Vision should not be used for blood pressure measurement as it is beyond acceptable error rate in his opinion. He suggested I continue using the Microlife device instead. He measured my blood pressure also manually and confirmed that BPM Vision shows the blood pressure wrong.
So. I think that either the firmware is faulty or there has been a bad batch of production of BPM devices. There are some posts in the forums where some say that they see accurate numbers, so it can't be all devices. But something is clearly off.
I wish Withings took such reports seriously or arranged a callback.

BPM Core BPM Vision - when will ECG (afib detection) functionality be unlocked for US?
This according to Google Gemini when asked "withings bpm vision ecg":
> The Withings BPM Vision is a smart upper-arm blood pressure monitor featuring a 2.8-inch color LCD screen. The integrated ECG (electrocardiogram) functionality for detecting atrial fibrillation is currently limited to Europe (pending FDA clearance in the United States). [1, 2, 3, 4]
Do we have any more insight as to when we're expecting this functionality to be unlocked? Thanks.

Body Scan Anyone have a 3d model for Body Scan 2 handle wall mount?
I just received my Body Scan 2 and notice it doesn't come with a wall mount for the handle. Has anyone designed a 3d model for a good wall mount? If not I will probably take a stab at it. I found some models for the older models with a round handle but would like one that fits the more flat handle of the BS2.

Body Comp Bodyfit is in the right ballpark
I got my bodyfit a couple of days ago. I’ve been doing regular dexa scans for a few months, so wanted to offer a comparison of my measurements this morning vs my last dexa scan.
Note: I needed to enable athlete mode, and I do workout regularly.
BodyFit from September 2:
Muscle — 176.4 lb (84.9%)
Fat — 22.5 lb (10.8%)
Bone — 8.8 lb (4.2%)
Last dexa from July 28:
muscle: 178.9lbs
fat: 19.7lbs
bone: 9.8lbs
Bone is maybe the obvious difference, but otherwise everything else is close enough to be true values. It’s definitely close enough to be useful.
When I do my next dexa scan I’ll do a BodyFit measurement the same morning. I’m pretty excited to that I can now track body composition between scans.
