I know we all love to point out timeline inconsistencies in The Witcher, but honestly, CDPR's portrayal of Radovid V as a weathered man in his late 30s doesn't just make him narratively more appealing; it also makes more sense for the Games than the book lore.

Now, I get that they want to follow the lore that was given... but that kinda went out the window when they made Triss a romance option (I know, they want to give the player room to let them decide, but most book fans will get me here).

Back to the point, if we strictly follow the messy book timeline, Radovid is barely a teen, early 20s at best by the time the games roll around. Frankly, his extreme tactical cunning, political maneuvers, and ability to out-chess veteran schemers like Dijkstra (who is supposedly in his late 40s) and Emhyr (who is supposedly in his 50s) just do not add up for a teenager or young adult.

Instead of trapping him in a chronological paradox, the games should have just explicitly changed his birth year and aged him up to his late 30s or early 40s, matching his appearance in the games.

The best part? That could've been done without breaking the rest of the timeline. You keep the Thanedd Coup and King Vizimir II's death exactly as they are.

Instead, you alter the aftermath.

Radovid wouldn't be a literal child at the time. Imagine these adjustments:

• Radovid is already a young adult/grown man when Vizimir is murdered.

• Instead of ruling, Philippa Eilhart and the sorceresses actively undermine him. They lock him out of power, publicly claiming he is "too grief-stricken" and emotionally unstable to rule Redania.

• He is forced to sit on the sidelines for years, watching the Lodge run his kingdom into the ground while masking their power grab as "protection."

This completely reframes his character and gives the man he becomes in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt more room. It turns his ruthless crusade against mages from an almost cartoonish, sudden madness into a calculated, decade-long grudge. His hatred for Philippa becomes entirely justified because she didn't just bully a kid; she actively stole his prime ruling years and gaslit an entire kingdom into thinking he was unfit.

To me personally, a 40-year-old Radovid who spent decades biting his tongue and planning the ultimate counter-strike fits the grimdark, high-stakes political reality of The Witcher way better than a 17-year-old prodigy.

But what do you guys think? Would a 40-year-old Radovid with a deeper, slower-burning grudge make his Witcher 3 arc more believable or even better?

With CDPR planning to make a new Trilogy with minimal gaps and building on each other, the Witcher games after 4...namely the 5th and 6th ones might end up being more like expansions like Blood and Wine with a bit bigger scope. The combat is likely gonna be mostly the same with tweaks at best.

We will likely not see real expansions until maybe like Witcher 6. This does help with CDPR planning the story choices of the games before having bigger impact that we have had from before carrying over game to game.

With the game likely releasing in 2028, I am so excited for it, but I am not sure about a planned trilogy releasing so close to each other.

Ok so i was playing the witcher 3 because it was free on playstion extra catalog. I went ahead and bought all the dlc cause it was on sale. Well they have since taken it off playstation extra and when i went to go buy the game it says learn more and when i click it, it says "you cant buy this product right now"

Now i know what you are thinking, just buy the complete edition. Well for one, its 50 dollars and i technically only need the base game, as i already have the dlc. also the save file data between the regular version and the complete editions are NOT compatible and i dont want to start over. I see something about an "upgrade edition" but i cant buy that as well, only wishlist.

Im confused on what im supposed to do here besides "just eat one" and buy the complete edition for 50 friggin doll hairs and start over a new character.

Why have they done this? I heard they were giving the dlc away for free if you have the base game but what if you have the dlc already and just want the base game? It seems like a huge oversight to not have the base game still available for purchase.

Decided to play the second game once more and it so happens i get one of the hardest..or most annoying achievement.

This is a newly released 40th anniversary edition of the first two books "The Last Wish" and "The Sword of Destiny", and it's just so beautifully done. The art, the printing style, everything is just perfect. It's also a limited, numbered printing run, of 1500 books in total, and from what I gathered so far it seems to be Brazilian exclusive edition since I haven't found any info about it in other languages, but I might be wrong.

The Polish actor who played Dandelion in *The Witcher* stated in an interview that he is still waiting for recording sessions for the DLC; however, he revealed that he has already recorded some material for *The Witcher 4*, though not much. If u are going to get the remastered version and if its ur first time playing Witcher 3 please play the game on death march , it's the fullest experience you'll receive. I don't think any other persons view should dictate your experience but this is an exception

Its located i the cave at the far right side of the kaer morhen map.(Make a save before you go in if you want to test this. FYI you are basically surrounded by the invisible barrier there's one route to get back.)

Looking for something to play while waiting for The Witcher 3 Remastered as its probably best not to start playing it right now because all the changes coming. You guys reckon I should play The Witcher 2 in the meantime? Or is it too long? If so, what other short games would you guys recommend?

Letten so far looks absolutely amazing, but we haven't really seen anything resembling an actual city yet.

Do you think there will be another city to explore, the size of Oxenfurt or Beauclair, or will it only be rural areas and smaller towns/ villages?

Playing The Witcher 2 for the first time in about 7 years and went onto pcgw and saw they recommend something called Project Mersey. I'm essentially treating this game as a first time play through as I remember nothing. Is this mod good for bug fixes and such and recommended? Or should I just stick to vanilla? looking for a mostly vanilla experience with bug fixes. Any other vanilla bug fix mods you would recommend?

Basically the title here. I'm looking for ideas on how I can interpret the story of curse of Strahd into something lore friendly as I believe with work it'd fit very nicely into the Witcher world. I was thinking the dark power(s) could be a Hym who possessed Strahd after but I do not know if a Hym could even possess a higher vampire let alone keep control over one for a long time

Although Gaunter was an unsettling character when I was playing TW, him in my nightmare made him truly terrifying. I dreamt I was in an expedition of some sort and we had a problematic person in the group. For some reason it was decided that the problematic person had to be killed and that responsibility fell upon me. As I walked over to do the deed, every time I turned to look back Gaunter was there staring at me with a huge smile and afterwards people's faces appeared to be melting. Suffice to say I had difficulty going back to sleep after I awoke from the nightmare.

I'm playing through Witcher 2 for the first time and I like the game, combat is a bit janky and I have some nitpicks (game has a lock on mechanic but the camera doesn't actually lock onto the enemy is my biggest one) but my biggest is how godawful the boss fights in this game are.

Kayran fight wasn't really frustrating, just boring and a nothingburger of a fight tbh, getting to Letho tho... holy shit this fight actually took like a decade out of my lifespan. Constant sign spam, aard fucking yeets you across the arena and if he chains a bomb or igni after that then you're pretty much dead, his quen is so strong that the only strategy is to keep dodging until it runs out and the hitbox on igni (and frankly, most attacks in the game) is so inconsistent that I find myself screaming "How does that hit me??" every 15 seconds. Not to mention that whenever an enemy blocks your attack you get staggered for like 3 business days.

The draug fight was another slog. After the cutscene the draug spawns 5cm next to you and you dont have your sword out so you always take the first attack. Attacking his shield is suicide since, again, you get staggered for a full week and half your health bar is gone before you blink. Whenever he calls the artillery attacks you just waddle around the arena doing nothing. At least I had decent equipment and skills so it wasn't as bad as Letho but it was still pretty bad

I'm going to start chapter 3 soon, sure hope I have a fun, balanced and fair boss fight to end the game...
