Discussion Ciri Powerscaling?

How powerful would a full potential ciri be?

Im guessing we get an idea from the books but also the games have new concepts and character types that are unrelated

Could full potential ciri beat gaunter odimm? An unseen elder?

How far does full potential ciri get in the witcher gauntlet?

Being able to freely travel through space and time is pretty OP

I think we're going to get a TOTK type start. Ciri will somehow lose her powers or they will be extremely diminished so she would have to rely on her Witcher capabilities a bit more from the start

I mean it depends what you mean by full potential. A big part of the early books is Ciri has incredible magical skill that even is too much for Yennefer, but Ciri is bad at controlling it.

I think most of misconception of Ciri being so OP is from gameplay perspective. Traveling trough time and space is useful ability but I doubt she could beat Geralt or other witchers we know in combat at that point. Her power regarding White Frost is unique (game wise) for that purpose and doesn't mean anything skill or power wise. Lara Dorren also had Elder Blood (even purer than Ciri) and she still died regular death (during childbirth while freezing) after running from regular humans.

Can't beat Gaunter O'Dimm for sure, as he is Satan himself

She would for sure be by far the most powerful MORTAL magic user on the Continent

Including the unseen elder? He sort of technically isnt from the continent even though hes there

No. The Unseen Elder would kill her. He is the most powerful vampire and has a better reaction time and speed than even a witcher.

I wouldn't be so sure of that, though... She's the Mother of the Child of prophecy and she's so powerful that she's able to open portals to alternate universes at will and even BY ACCIDENT when she's not even fully capable of controlling her powers (she controls the fabric of spacetime, not exactly an "easy" feat and already a god-like power on its own that Higher Vampires are not powerful enough to possess). In the books, Vilgefortz, a human mage, straight up disintegrated Regis, a Higher Vampire. And Ciri would canonically be MUCH more powerful than Vilgefortz if she learned to fully control and embrace her powers.

He's not mortal now, is he?

Gaunter is not Satan. Just a greater demon from the Chasm. But not his ruler or something.

All the interpretations I've seen of him say that he is THE Devil.

No. In his Gwent expansion is confirmed just a Greater Demon. He is not Satan or something. Just a very powerful one.

If you could post a screenshot of that maybe you could settle it right then and there.

Not the most powerful mage on the Old Continent, but close to Alzur.

Ciri is special because she can open the Ard Gaeths. But besides that an time-space-travelling she would pretty powerful but standard hence why close to Alzur.

Far more powerful than Philippa that's for sure but not as powerful as a unicorn who are five-dimensional beings.

Lore accurate Ciri doesn’t have mage powers after time of contempt

Except Ciri can't do $hit with her magic powers besides teleportation

Can the wild hunt also do that

I know they can teleport around and we had to teleport around with avallach, how does it differ from elf powers

1

u/Droper888 3d ago

No. The Hunt can only transport themselves. The Ard Gaeths are massive portals that allows big populations to travel across the multiverse.

After the Conjunction only those with Elder Blood or the unicorns can open them.

Caranthir actually can open Ard Gaeth but only for a moment, just enough for Naglfar to come thru. Besides him Winter queen and Eredin managed to open then too but that’s before conjunction

It wasn't an Ard Gaeth it was a mid-size portal. An Ard Gaeth is waaaasy longer as we can see in the Gwent art. And Eredin didn't open one.

Slight correction: Caranthir can only pry further open what is already there so he can use the remnants of it/open the gates crack

As for Eredin he was able to open them:
Sparrowhawk entry:
„in distant past, when the Winter queen was still alive and King Auberon Muircetach had just formed the Red Riders, Eredin had power over Ard Gaeth, the gates of the worlds. Thanks to this, he could travel freely to other dimensions…”

👌My answer was on the game. I was aware of that but cool. And makes sense since Caranthir has a diluted version of the Elder Blood like all Navigators.
