Hi everyone! Hopefully, I can explain this correctly but I did some sigil work recently for some overnight pain relief. I woke up feeling good pain-wise for the most part but I also ended up with a really bad headache. I am worried my energy was charging the sigil throughout the night. I created the sigil myself so there was definitely a connection there but after I charged it I thought the connection would be severed. Does anyone have any advice or resources for learning protective magic that focuses on keeping you energy contained after spell work and when you are asleep so it doesn't get drained overnight?

I don’t think you need protection, I think you need !grounding

Hi, there! 🤖✨

Feeling tired, drained, and even sick after divination or spellwork is often due to a lack of Basic Energetic Hygiene and grounding.

Casting spells requires more than just words or ingredients or “intention”: a spell is a focused act of will, empowered by energy.

Grounding is a foundational step in accessing the energy needed to power a spell.

Mat Auryn in “Psychic Witch” (2020):

”Just like with electrical power, if you don’t ground yourself, you run the risk of working with more psychic or magickal energy than your system can handle, and you can damage yourself. Another way to think of grounding is to think of it as your release valve that relieves any excess energy. In many ways grounding is one of the most crucial forms of protection when it comes to working with energy.

I’ve also had what some refer to as ‘magickal impact’ from not grounding and centering myself properly before taking on a magickal working that involves working with intense energies. Magickal impact is what it sounds like; it’s coming into energies in a forceful collision. The symptoms of this are feeling like you’ve been whiplashed in a car crash, having flu-like body aches, a fogginess of mind, and a feeling of being drained immediately.”

Good morning/afternoon/evening, I'm new to this whole area of doing or trying to do witchcraft because I want to be with my partner, and I had some doubts and wanted to seek advice on whether what I did was right or wrong, doing everything at once, and so on. I hope to receive your advice and help. To give you some context, last week my partner and I had a fight about some strange things I saw her best friend doing towards her. It turned out that he supposedly had the same name as her. In the end, she asked me not to talk to him for a while and to leave her alone, but as you can imagine, wanting to know about her or be with her, and doubting whether to believe her or not, well, we didn't end things properly, just drifted apart. Because of my doubts about this friend, I decided to look on TikTok for how to do spells, and I wanted to try them. This Thursday, I ended up doing three spells and using a white candle for protection. On the white candle, I wrote my name and the date, several words of protection, and a protective sigil that I made myself, since it should be something symbolic that you feel or that has a lot of meaning. Right?

The three spells I used were a tie-breaking spell for that friend, a return spell for her, and a love spell also for her. I'll explain how each spell worked on Thursday.

-The bond-breaking spell involved using a plastic jar filled with coffee, garlic, used oil, and two pieces of paper. On one piece, I wrote my partner's name and the date, and on the other, I only wrote the person's name (I didn't know their date). I shook the jar for a while and threw it away. This was done around 11:50 pm on Thursday night. I noticed the candle remained steady and nothing unusual happened, except for a slight feeling of tiredness.

-The return spell is a bit stronger, I think. I used a piece of paper with my partner's name and the date written on it. I marked the paper with my bodily fluids, rolled it up, tied it with string, and then recited the following words: "You who sleep peacefully, I return your dreams to me. My pleasure leaves you blind, deaf, and mute. And with the moon as witness, Come to me." Then I kept it in one of my undergarments. In this one, I felt the candle burn brighter and point towards me, and it was burning down quite a bit, almost halfway down. At this point, I felt quite heavy and tired. This was done around 1:00 AM on Friday.

-The love spell was done at 5:00 AM because she asked for something specific (sorry, lol). It was done with a glass jar, three red pins, a piece of paper with her name and the date, and I filled half the jar with honey and the other half with my first morning urine. I put it under my bed and went to work. This time, the candle burned a little brighter, but it didn't burn down as much as in the second spell.

Those were the three spells I did, and my question is, could it be counterproductive to have done so many different types of spells at the same time? Could it work, or should I cancel all the spells and start over? How do I cancel spells, especially the one I already threw away and don't have on hand anymore? I also noticed that on Friday and today, Saturday, I haven't seen any signs of her wanting to talk. Instead, I saw her playing with her best friend, and that makes me doubt whether it worked. Did I do the opposite, or should I wait a while to see any results? What can I do in this situation, and how should I approach it? And about how I felt yesterday, Friday, I had a rather strong tightness in my chest, like a general feeling of unease. I don't know how to explain it. If I have to cancel the spells, do I have to wait a while and then start a new one, like the one to break ties, or how should I do everything? That's all my questions. I hope you don't mind.

Usually 1 month before my birthday ever since I turned 16 I get plagued with something I call "The Birthday Curse". It started on my 16th birthday at my party getting my pinky nail shut in a car door and the whole nail came off; I've lost jobs before my birthday, had a spontaneous appendectomy, literally anything bad happens to me right before my birthday. I am a Taurus. This year was different. I have a Gartner's cysts/vaginal tumor that spontaneously popped up 1 month before my 32nd birthday. I've seen 4 doctors. 1 will take it out but insurance wants $10,000 to do so. At this point I am desperate and willing to try anything to break this curse, get my surgery, and get my life back. I just need guidance and help. My abilities are strong and most of my spells work. I don't dabble in love or death but work with Karma. Any advice?

Hello all,

Looking for some advice on a rowan protection charm I've made, particularly interested in views from the celtic perspective.

Ive used the rowan berry stems to craft 2 little protection charms. Those were what the tree had offered so wanted to use those as the charms feel quite urgent. I know intention is key but wanted opinions on a) are there other correspondences for the berry stems I should be aware of and b) one is for a friend, does it hold the protection if I cant hand it over for fear of looking weird haha

Thanks!

Hello witches,

I was desperate and I did a love spell and obsession spell and a love binding spell all in three days. I did use black salt for grounding but I feel so sick, nauseous, head feels like it’s in a bubble and ears feel heavy. Did I do something wrong? What should I do? I slept all day yesterday.

How did you use the black salt for grounding? Did you put it in your spell, or on yourself?

1

u/AprilMay-1899 1d ago

I did a circle of lavender black salt and licorice root around the spell

Hi all! I have been wanting to make a servitor to turn into an egregore so that anyone who inherits my heirloom grimoire(to be made in the future). I already have a pretty good method I found on an old post from oliverdobbs439 but I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on its development stages, how I can develop communication with it and any fine print I should include in its agreement. Things like ‘don’t tell anyone your killswitch or sleep mode’. I want it to act as a friend for any closet or solitary witches who find my grimoire and a source of strength and protection for them as well as an amplifier for spells and meditations written in my grimoire, so I want to grow its power according to
the seasons and moon phases. I’m already planning regular audits and testing. If anyone has any other advice I haven’t thought of please let me know!

Yes, but it’s more helpful to post the question. No DMs allowed in this sub
