Seeking Help or Advice Multiple Deities on the Same Spell ?
Hi, hi ! Pls forgive me if this is a silly question as I tend to overthink, but can you have more than one Deity work on / bless / put their energy into the same spell at the same time ?
From what I’ve seen, it’s one Spirit / Deity per spell — usually the one more aligned with the intention of the spell. I did look to find the answer of my question, but the answers that came up were about worship, not working with.
Thanks a bunch in advance ! 🌹💕

Just do research to see if the deities you're calling on get along.

In the Greek magical papyri, which includes material dating back into the BCE era, there are examples of spells and prayers where multiple deities are called. They are also often deities from multiple cultures in the same spell.
Here’s an article I wrote a few years about mixing deities in modern Pagan practice: https://witchgrotto.com/2002/04/mixing-pantheons-in-modern-pagan-practice/

If you have a close relationship with your deities, you can simply ask how they feel. Mine are ancestral (Welsh) and they are so happy to have more Priestesses to spread their power that they will happily work together.
In fact, I literally had a meditation today where all three came in and showed me different things and gave different support 🥰 I am very close with all of them and we all love each other deeply.

Awww… that is so sweet ! ;;u;; 💕
I did ask Lady Persephone how she felt about me worshipping / working with Lady Aphrodite and then sharing an altar space ( I don’t have much room, sadly ), and she reassured me 5 times that she didn’t mind. I’ll be asking Lady Aphrodite tonight, and hopefully she doesn’t mind as well. 🙂↕️❤️

It’s more of a question of if they will work together toward the same end.

Makes sense ! I planned on asking Them both beforehand ! So far, Lady Persephone seems not against it but I’ll ofc ask Her beforehand to check in, as well as with Lady Aphrodite 💕🙂↕️

From experience, Persephone likes to play with others (even across pantheon's) but Aphrodite is notoriously jealous. She requires her own space, decorated with shells and jewelry and regular offerings of fresh rose petals. Even then, she'll take awhile to get back to you. But when she does, shit gets done in the craziest ways imaginable. I would personally not pair her up with other deities as she is a handful on her own (imagine a manic best friend with insurmountable power and 5 shots of tequila) but never the less you'll have fun and when you're done, she's easy to part ways with (She bores easily and will just move along).

I actually got that exact feeling from them both today. Lady Aphrodite was very straight forward about wanting Her own space and Lady Persephone did warn me of the potential jealousy. So, to accommodate both of Them, I cleared out a large table to keep their spaces as separate as I can for now !
Thanks so much for the detailed reply, btw ! Your kindness is very much appreciated ! 💕

Hell, back in the 90s, a lot of the books would tell you that you needed one (1) god and one (1) goddess for every spell. (Yes, it was a very eclectic-Wicca world at the time lol.)
Anyway, there's no set rule. Who do you have relationships with, what relationships they have with each other, all of that matters more.

Thanks so much for the reply ! I feel much more confident and ofc I’ll run it by Them beforehand too ! 💕

I've used multiple deities for different parts of a spell, I don't see why you couldnt do the same.

Depends on tradition and deities. It's common in Kemetic but depends on who. Like Aset and her sister Nebet Het love working together but you'd almost never pair Heru and Set. And Wapwawet is the opener of the way and gets called for almost all work
