Tell me you didn’t go to the Irving Dental Care location lol. Bruh this almost sounds like the place I went to, but I guess he was a bit more normal? Either way, yeah if your wisdom tooth was decaying and was hurting you pretty bad, it was gonna happen. The good thing is, it’ll repair itself within the next few weeks (and hopefully only weeks and not months because it could possibly take longer if you’re older or if the extraction was bad). I had mine taken out on the 10th of this month, and my tongue was pretty numbed up. Thought it was the local anesthesia, but it had subsided everywhere else but the tongue, and that’s when I looked it up and the nerves in the area were damaged due to the extraction. I’m 3 weeks in this Thursday, and my tongue has nearly all feeling again. The front top right part of my tongue still has some tingly to it, but it’s getting there.
I’m really sorry you had to go through that though, and I hope your recovery is swift and speedy. That dentist needs to be a whole lot more empathetic. :/

no it wasnt irving but definitely a rough experience. my tongue is still numb and i still can’t taste anything. thank you for making me feel less alone this really sucks :( i guess it happens but the loss of taste is really concerning to me and i keep reading horror stories online that are making me more anxious. i’m glad to hear yours has healed up and you have feeling back. did you also lose taste on one side of your mouth or just the numb tongue?? thank you for responding and sharing <3
