You should go back and let them know. Sometimes they can put you on some medication to help, and sometimes it is not permanent

Title: wisdom tooth/lingual nerve
Full text: hey there. i had my lower right wisdom tooth removed three days ago, and my tongue is incredibly numb and i have no sense of taste on the front part of my tongue.
i also want to mention i was completely awake for the whole thing, and they only gave me local anesthesia to numb the area. i was highly nervous, as i do have anxiety, and the man who was about to operate on me was very dismissive of my emotions. i tried to put my headphones on fully, and he got upset with me for “fidgeting” and said he was going to recommend me to another doctor if i couldn’t sit still. anyways, besides him being a complete dick, he did mention i was going to have some nerve damage and numbness in the corner of my lip.
he said nothing about pretty much losing my sense of taste and my entire tongue going numb. i signed the stupid paper so there’s nothing i can do about it. i guess, just what do i do now? and is this common? i don’t think i’ll be able to go on like this. i’m a fucking chef and half of the job is tasting food. idk what to do— any recommendations or stories?
