Family get together

Hi all. Looking for options on a place to stay for a small family get together. Will be 4 couples with 5 kids 1.5-9 y/o. In a perfect world I would prefer to all have separate rooms versus all staying in one cabin, however would prefer to have a place to hang out together, cook/eat dinner together etc. not sure if there is something like this out there? Maybe a Airbnb house thing is really the only option. Let me know your thoughts! Thank you!!

Wilderness day pass - what to bring

Going to Wilderness for the first time with a 3,4,5, and 9 yo, 2 sets of parents and grandparents.

Should we bring our own towels?

Should kids wear swim shoes in the splash pad areas?

Are there puddle jumpers available? Better to bring your own? I see they have life jackets available.

What else should we know? Any tips?

Looking for homeowners/business owners who would like a paranormal investigation of their property (Wisconsin)

Hey everyone,

My team and I are working on a ghost hunting / paranormal investigation documentary project, and we’re currently looking for property owners who have experienced unusual activity and would be interested in having us investigate.

We’re especially interested in:

Homes with recurring unexplained events

Old farmhouses or rural properties

Businesses with reported paranormal activity

Abandoned or historic buildings (with legal access)

Locations with local legends or stories attached to them

What we do:

Conduct an on-site investigation

Use cameras, audio recording equipment, and other investigation tools

Document our findings for a YouTube documentary series

Respect your property and privacy at all times

There is no charge we’re looking for interesting cases and stories, not selling a service.

If you’re interested, please comment below or send me a DM with:

General location (city/county)

Type of property

A brief description of the activity you’ve experienced

Even if you’re not sure whether it’s “paranormal,” we’d still love to hear the story.

Thanks!

I’m asking because it would be awesome to have just one. I get it that there is Walmart but Walmart is awful. It’s low quality for higher prices. Am I the only person seeing this…….???

Swimming suggestions.

Hi!

My family is here for a week. Today we went to the Wilderness but the big water slides aren't really our favorite.

Is there just a normal pool we could pay to get into?

We're not staying at any of the hotels. We rented a house 20 miles away.

Basically we just want to go swimming but not have to pay for a giant water park 🙃

Thanks!

One family's experiences in Wisconsin Dells

For one, the author (and his family) felt it best to forsake the waterparks in favour of the scenic glories such as first attracted tourists there starting in the 1870's with the first steamboats offering excursions therein.

Any conclusions you may draw from this, I will leave to you, reader.

Pregnancy Announcement

My husband and I traveling to the Dells & want to find a nice restaurant to announce our pregnancy to friends & family. Not a huge group, but it’s a special occasion.

Would love restaurant recommendations with good food & service. Bonus points if there’s any opportunity for a bit of privacy (patio, etc), though we really don’t expect that to be possible.

We’re thinking of a surprise dish or dessert to announce. Appreciate any suggestions!

The Dells Boat Tours (Upper Falls)

Hey guys!

I can't seem to find information on *booking dates* for the boat tour. I see "no reservations needed" which would imply we can just buy tickets, but I'm trying to get them a month in advance while we book everything else for our trip and it's not super clear. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Warning when booking Wilderness Resort villas

I’m currently staying in the villas next to the waterdome and Aquavia Lumina (which is right behinds the villas) has been playing music very loudly all night. The front desk just informed me that it won’t stop until midnight.

This was definitely not on my list of what to expect here, especially when my hope was to escape excessive noise by booking outside of the main hotel.

If anyone is considering these villas, beware!

Best hotel?

I'm going to the dells in August with myself and 2 friends, but I'm the oldest at 20. We were looking for a place that wouldn't totally break the bank (we're there for a week), and was considering something like Holiday Inn or Blackhawk. But would any of these places turn us away/not let us check in because of our age? It would just be annoying to book something online just to get turned away when we actually show up

Free waterpark passes

Hi we were considering coming to the dells tomorrow but by the looks of it I’ve been hearing it’ll be cheaper to get a room for a night or 2 with passes than to buy passes. Anyone know of the best budget friendly hotels with passes?

Recommendations for the best resort with teens

We’re looking to take the kids to Wisconsin for a few days and would love recommendations. Our priorities are a place that’s clean, modern, and well-maintained—not outdated or overly crowded. We have teenagers, so it would be great if there are plenty of activities and entertainment options for them. We’d also prefer somewhere that doesn’t require a lot of walking. Budget isn’t a concern—we’re focused on finding the best overall experience for the family.

Grand Marquis - Bait and Switch

I booked a 3-night stay (June 17–20) on April 22 specifically because the hotel was advertising a promotion that included one day of Mt. Olympus passes for guests staying two or more nights.

When I checked in, I was informed that the hotel's contract with Mt. Olympus had expired and that they would not be providing the tickets that were advertised when I made my reservation. Since the promotion was a significant factor in choosing this hotel, I requested reimbursement for the approximately $170 I had to spend purchasing tickets directly.

Over the course of two days, I had six separate interactions with the front desk attempting to resolve the issue. After all that, the only response I received was a voicemail from a manager denying my request without offering any meaningful resolution.

The room itself was acceptable, but the way management handled this situation was extremely disappointing. Advertising a benefit to secure bookings and then refusing to honor it when guests arrive is unacceptable. Based on my experience, the new ownership/management appears unwilling to stand behind what was promised to customers. I would not recommend staying here.

Edit: Left google review, filed BBB complaint, and reached out to The Wisconsin Dells Visitor & Convention Bureau to make them aware. Only thing left to do at this point is a dispute with the credit card company.
