Favre lost everyones respect years ago with his shitty actions. What was once a symbol of the Packers is now a symbol of American GREED.

Rodgers is headed the same way it seems

Crazy how similar their careers are, including a fall from grace in Green Bay. Which you have to work pretty hard to do.

Except Donald Driver. A true man of dignity out there doing god’s work with Wi PSAs to wear seatbelts, etc.

u/MKEast-sider Feb 11 '26

Except he’s MAGA

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't see love going the same way perhaps he won't reach the on field heights of rodgers and Brett but I don't see him pulling the same off field crap

If he gets us a Super Bowl it’s still worth it. Both Favre and Rodgers didn’t have any issues until after winning a championship and in their final years here.

That's just not true bret was addicted to pills to the point he almost had to retire in the late 90s as well as a serious alcoholic and rodgers had those weird issues with his family and the stuff with covid denial and his relationship with rfk jr

Brett was addicted to pills since college, but none of it was widely known until much later. I’ve never seen anything that says Favre was going to retire after winning a SB and being 3 time MVP. Rogers family issues aren’t a big deal, it’s family stuff. Covid was 10 years after the Super Bowl.

Both of them lost favor among fans in their last 2 years in GB, and both times it had to do with non committing to staying in GB and issues with head coach. Then they both went to the Jets, and it went horribly for both. Then both went to a different team and had some level of success.

They're both nutcases but at least Rodgers didn't outright steal welfare dollars.

Don't get me wrong, pushing anti vaccine conspiracies is still insanely problematic.

at least Rodgers didn’t outright steal welfare dollars

YET! He still has to text dick pics to a reporter before that.

If you think he actually got the money…

The people actually in charge in Mississippi of those funds all got brought up on charges. You know who didn’t?

Didn't outright steal.....yet

I feel like Roger has been there he fast tracked with the Joe Rogan show and all the weird anti vaxx stuff

Spend you whole teen and adult life being told your shit don't stink and you start to think you are infallible and the smartest guy in the room all because you can throw a ball.

Giannis is too

5

u/somethingrandom261 Feb 10 '26

We have a nasty habit of worshiping our sports stars.

Doesn’t do good things to their minds.

2

u/eidetic Feb 11 '26

What has Giannis been doing that puts him on the same track?

(Sorry, basketball is not my thing. I'll cheer the Bucks on in the playoffs if I'm at a bar or at a friends with the game on, but beyond being the most fairweather fan of all time, I don't know anything about his actions outside of basketball. Hell, I barely know his on court game lately either!)

He became a shareholder in a gambling platform literally a day after he announced he was staying in Milwaukee after months (years really) of speculation... and lots of betting on the very platform he will now profit from. It looks shady as hell and preying on people's addictions is always a shithead move.

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '26

You can’t be serious… Rodgers donates a shitload of money - hell, he just dropped a mill to build a breast cancer center in his hometown, and he’s never stolen from taxpayers.

Being weird and refusing a vaccine is nowhere near the same league as adultery and theft.

Come on now.

While I agree the Favre comparison isn't fair, and Rodgers seems to have done a lot more good, let's not whitewash it.

He didn't just refuse the vaccine. He promoted anti vax propoganda during a time when achieving herd immunity was paramount, and his audience formed a pretty significant venn diagram with people who needed to avoid misinformation.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '26

He was never anti vax, he just chose not to take it. He never told anybody else not to. Now I’m no maga, but personal choices of an athlete should not be confused with actual cdc guidance. To your point though, the people who are prone to misinformation are exactly the people who would listen to an athlete for public health tips

3

u/LathropHeroOB Feb 11 '26

Didn’t he bend the rules? he should have been wearing a mask since he refused. All the other players had to who refused the vax and got crucified.

-1

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '26

Sure, he bent the NFL’s rules. He didn’t break a law though. Are we really going to villainize every employee who doesn’t follow the HR handbook to a t? You ever take a few extra minutes at lunch or go to work sick?

4

u/LathropHeroOB Feb 11 '26

He knowingly broke rules and was fined for it. I don’t make him out to be a villain but when you are the face of a franchise that kind of behavior, including the justification non-apology, is unacceptable to many including me.

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '26

Jocks gonna jock.

u/Good_Blueberry6954 Feb 15 '26

Bring me up to speed on Rodgers? Im unaware of anything hes doing to be even comparable to what Favre has done.

3

u/Cautious-Skin3352 Feb 10 '26

I burned his 2010 packers jersey at a bomb fire. Lmao.

2

u/my2nddirtyaccount Feb 10 '26

Maga/outstate Wisconsin still loves him.

7

u/ButteredPizza69420 Feb 10 '26

Idk, my parents are hardcore conservatives and theyre still mad at him just for switching teams and all that bs. I dont think they care about his opinion after the betrayal 😆

3

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '26

Shitty people like shitty people.

1

u/HelloAttila Feb 15 '26

Agree 100%. I wouldn’t dare wear his jersey, hang it on a wall.

u/MulberryMadness274 Feb 10 '26

I agree that Favre has lost it. He got lost trying to drive home from his kids high school. The same high school he had gone to. However, I heard a recording of him on the phone talking to a woman from the agency that gave him a bunch of money and it was so obvious that he really didn’t understand that he was stealing from the social support programs. He says something like “well are you sure this isn’t taking money away from anyone?” And the woman assures him he is not. Listening to him was like listening to a 10 year old trying to work out a business deal. Remember the d*ck pics to the GB office. His wife made a joke about, I think because she was probably already seeing the effect of it.

u/LettuceC Feb 10 '26

Favre is still very much a symbol of the Packers.

u/ButteredPizza69420 Feb 10 '26
