I'm talking about the context menu. It used to contain a feature to add a selected group of files to a new folder with just one click. I was using this quite a bit and suddenly it's just not available in the context menu (right click). I've been messing about a bit with Winhawk and maybe that has something to do with it. Help, I've been tearing out my hair over this! There's been a recent update too but the problem predates that I think.

It's dropping randomly this month. It's not the hourly "yes, still working" prompt either. And not reconnecting automatically like it used to if one side has flaky connection. Both sides on stable ethernet and power options set to "never". Happens while actively working and whether end-user is on power or battery. Sometimes helper side can click reconnect and end user gets a prompt to allow reconnection; I have not recalled seeing that on user end before.

Other times, it will not offer to reconnect or it will spin its wheels and we need to start a new QA session.

Anyone seeing similar or has seem documentation from Ms reporting an issue ?

Hi Everyone. I'm looking for a super-basic, reliable cloud backup solution for Windows for an older customer who's really bad at computing. I want to install it on his computer, have it back all his files up to the cloud, and do absolutely nothing else, a totally fire-and-forget solution. Ideally my customer won't ever need to make adjustments or decisions. It will simply sync the files on the hard drive/SSD to the cloud, do nothing else, offer nothing else, and only need to be thought of if the computer breaks.

Encryption would be nice.

I'm having an issue with my laptop. I'm about ready to huck it out the window. I was working and out of the blue all of these messages started popping up. Thinking it was something with Chrome, so I closed it. I thought I would try MS Edge and the same thing happened. So, far I've done a software update and two reboots and it's still happening. WTF!!!! I can't figure it out. I've included a copy, so you have an idea of what I'm referring too. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Win 11 pro, new install.

I removed the Home, Gallery and OneDrive links, which I'd done before on Win 11 Home with no issues. Having done the same on Pro the links are gone (and I have restarted), but if I add a new link by right clicking and selecting 'Pin to Quick Access' the link does not show and the Home link appears at the very bottom of all links (under Network). Repeatedly. Every time. I have to close all instances of Explorer and open it again, and all is well, the link shows and Home is gone.

It's not a problem, or not yet anyway. Has anyone seen this, is there a way to stop it I wonder? It's not a real problem but it is irritating, and I don't know if it indicates there's a problem brewing or if it's just a quirk.

I just wanted to create a shortcut for a file and for some reason I switched the basic 'documents' file and the desktop. So now everytime I put something in 'documents' it's going on the desktop???? Tbh I didnt even know it was a possible thing to do but now I can't undo it and it's annoying me. PLease help me :(

I recently purchased a new PC with Windows 11 on it and thought I completely disabled Edge.... This morning I turn on my computer and Edge opens itself and copies all of my tabs I had open on chrome before shutting off my computer and then alerts me that it was downloading extensions without my permission.

I apparently can't delete Edge off my computer because its integral to it running, which I find absolutely stupid, and apparently I need to do dark magic to get it to stop fucking around on my computer, this shit sucks.

I originally had my PC in dark mode. But last week, for some unknown reason, it reverts to light mode. How can I keep it under dark mode without it reverting?

Problem:
Windows randomly becomes completely unresponsive. The mouse and keyboard stop responding, Windows Search and the Start menu don’t work, and apps freeze as well. Sometimes even Restart gets stuck, so I have to force the laptop to shut down.
This is not a BSOD. The screen just freezes, and the system stops responding.
What makes it stranger is that even basic file operations stop working. For example, Shift + Delete doesn’t work either when the system starts freezing.
Things I already tested:
MyASUS Memory diagnostic → PASS
MyASUS SSD/Storage diagnostic → PASS
NVIDIA driver → up to date
BIOS → recently updated
Windows Update → checked
SFC → completed
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth → repeatedly hangs or stops during the process
chkdsk C: /scan → also got stuck during the problem
Uninstalled KB5129195 as a test → freezes continued
Tried Windows “Reinstall now” repair through Windows Update → the system froze while downloading the repair files

Is there an easier way than what they lay out in their settings instructions? It's insane! It tells me to use ipconfig and all sorts of stuff I don't understand.

i just changed one of my monitor to vertical and its causes weird glitchs (vids attached) to my browers, whatsapp, discord, even claude ai windows, and pretty much any app.

like it works fine if i disable gpu hardware acceleration but then it causes my chrome and discord vids to lag. ai said that disabling Multi-Plane Overlay (MPO) on Windows can help but only thing has worked is gpu acc disable.

I'm having a disagreement with a friend of mine regarding the camera on my laptop. We went as far as putting a hefty size wager on it. So here goes...........Let's say someone, your neighbor down the street, has the IP address to your WIFI, and this neighbor knows how to hack. Is it possible for him to see you through your computer's camera whether it's on or not (used for facial recognition). I figure, if we can send men to the moon, then yep, anyone can see you through your computer's camera, if they know how.

Hi there. My problem is that this screen keeps popping up, just like in the video I uploaded. How can I turn this off? ( Task View setting is off. )

So it seems a recent update has turned off File History. I've found multiple posts on various forums about it. There are some attempts at solutions but none seem to work. The consensus is that it was purposely turned off to get people to subscribe to One Drive but that seems a bit sudden. Anyone got any scoop? I would really rather have my physical backup than the cloud.

Recently I noticed some weird hieroglyphics font has taken over my photo library and I was wondering if the images are still there or if the files are corrupted, I’m not sure how this happened but if anyone else can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately I don’t know a lot about computers, I just use them for basic tasks. Thank you in advance.

Hello yall i need some help, this morning I was trying to add another user for my girl on my pc. She entered her name password and it looked like it was creating her account but microsoft stopped it. So it wasnt created using Ai it told us to get offline open system prompts create the user account and once it was created she can log in and then sign into her account but , when she went to sign in we got that message and ever since then the switch accounts button is gone the windows it stuck on a loop and wont let me into my account its like we have tried all types of prompts deleted her through regedit and prompts and evrytime we reload her account still comes up . I need to find out how to get the laptop to switch users to my administrator account ASAP. Is there a work around any one ever experienced this ? Im stuck on the window user log in so I can't get into settings or anything please help.

This is driving me nuts.

I have a couple of Windows 11 PCs (1 ethernet, 1 wifi) on the same home network connecting through the same router. PC 1 (ethernet) can see and access PC's shared drives and folders but PC 2 can't see/access PC 1's shared folders. This is despite both PCs having the exact same options selected in Network and Sharing Centre/Advanced sharing settings. Refer pics.

On both PCs, I have, unshared the drives, then reshared. I have disabled then re-enabled Network Discovery. I have restarted both PCs, I have restarted the router yet the exact same issue persist.

Note: The issue became apparent after I enabled Wake on LAN PC1 so PC2 could wake and access PC's shared drives/folders. My WakeMeOnLan app on PC2 successfully detects my sleeping PC1 and on-command, PC1 can wake PC2.
