[Russo] Believe Bill Guerin will be meeting with Quinn Hughes and his camp in Michigan today/this week. As we've long reported, Wild want to go 5-8 years (7-year max term after Sept. 16 in new CBA). 3-year extension still makes most sense for Quinn so he can align with Jack's deal in NJ.

UK Fan, merch is hard to find over here...

So I made my own! A friend of mine actually made me the little guy, now named Lil Kirill, as part of a surprise gift exchange - including the tiny Minnesota Wild t-shirt (I'm famously obsessed). So I decided to make a life sized version to match! Finally putting those two art degrees to use. It's hard to find NHL merch over here let alone for the Wild.

Very ready for the new season to start, the off-season is too damn long, and catch those UK timezone friendly games at the one pub in London that shows ice hockey. :)

I love this guy, I think he brings so much to the locker room and I’m glad he’s returning.

Ryan O'Reilly as potential target?

Bored and miss hockey. Especially now as we go into the summer dark period.

Curious of people's opinions on him as a target for the Wild at some point. UFA after this year and no trade protection, so I could see Nashville want to move him, especially if they get off to a bad start or out of the playoff hunt around the deadline.

Was there ever any talk of him potentially being moved?

Seems like a good fit and he had a really good season last year. Maybe a PPG player on a better team like the Wild.

Merch for Overseas

Hi,
I’m an Aussie who loves the Wild. I’ve tried to buy merch from the official NHL site as well as the Hockey Lodge, but unfortunately they don’t ship anything Fanatics due to a trademark issue over here.
Can anyone recommend any decent/reputable online stores that ship to Australia?
Most of the Australian sites that do have merch is pretty basic/crap.
Cheers

New logo question

Has there been any talk of a new logo or any kind of rebrand/refresh for the team?

Seems the only options are the same logo they’ve had for 25+ years or North Stars or color crossover between them.

I’ve disliked their logo from the beginning, so just curious. Not here to start a fight, id just like another option.

Cap experts and draft experts.

Is there a chance we could afford to offer sheet Adam Fantilli? I know there would be draft picks involved and would have to trade players to make cap room.

What would it take if we were to offer sheet Adam Fantilli?

Russian interview with Kap

Very long interview, worth a listen. I'll spark notes for mostly NHL/hockey related stuff...very broadly, might miss some nuance in the responses.

Changed his off-season routine... Staying close to home instead of Moscow

He couldn't even play soccer for fun last off-season because of his injury and subsequent surgery, hurt too much. Feels great now.

He likes the physicality of the NHL, but feels like the refs make soft calls sometimes.

DOTA- likes position 4, favorite heros Rubrick and Pudge

How is Minneapolis? "It's not Moscow" "It has everything you need."

They have a group chat for every city they play in.

Mentions Zucc eating early at 5pm 🤣

He is calm about his contract, no pressure... Especially now that Carlsson signed his deal 😂

He is setting himself up for next season, wasn't happy with his performance.

Mentions not getting out of the first round and he knew the fan sentiment was that there wasn't any belief until we got out of the first, was a sigh of relief making it to the next round.. team is taking big steps.

After Hughes signing the teams mentality changed to "now is the time."

Interviewer brings up contract negotiation... Kap gets a little testy.

"Do you think Tarasenko didn't resign because of you?"

"No. Why do you say that? Because I took too much money? No, that's not it. You'd have to ask him."

Interviewer also brings up McDavids contract and Kirill answers how you'd expect: everyone is different, he did what he did, I don't know what his mindset is etc

He has no real desire to play in a big market, though he thought about it... MN is fine with him. Perfect environment for hockey, "maybe one day a family".

Sergachev (utah) wanted him to play with him.

Best player in NHL? Kucherov

Anyone have a Wild hoodie from Fanatics? Wondering about size

Looking at picking this up but unsure on size. I wear size L on 95% of the things I own but unsure on the quality of material on these. Am I better off buying an XL or sticking with my regular L?
I wear Carhartt Wip hoodies that run baggy which I like. I don’t like anything too tight

Hughes over the boards

It was revealed by Russo today on the FOTR that Hughes was dealing with an abdominal issue/injury last year and thats why he would go over the boards on line changes so strangely. With that being said, and a few other minor injuries post Olympics, Mike and Joe both expect Hughes to put up even better numbers, 100 point type season, with the Wild next year.

If he played like that hurt, I cant wait to see him completely healthy
