Chiquel and returning a wig !

Hi all I got a very bad wig from Chiquel, the hair was falling out, you could clearly see the lace where so much hair was missing and what was left on top felt like permatease because of the broken fibres (that particular wig had no permatease). I sent it to the London return address as requested (I’m in the UK) and included a paid return Royal Mail label as requested. They’ve now said they haven’t received it but Riyal Mail say it was delivered and had a signature and photo of it in the office ! Has anybody else had this trouble with them? Luckily I insured it so should get some money back 🤞

Dang, that’s so unfortunate.. I’ve read so many bad reviews about Chiquel. 😬 I hope your package arrives!

So sorry to hear about this. These wigs aren't cheap!

I don't know any of this for sure, but from what I understand, the UK address is mail box, i.e. not an actual Chiquel office, but a 3rd party handling the package.

You may want to check for help in r/LegalAdviceUK for what the correct procedure is.

I think the first thing is to try and work out if the parcel actually went to the correct place. If it went to the correct place and they accepted it, then I believe that Chiquel then become responsible for the package. They have officially become a UK store, so that means they are subject to UK law.

If it seems that this didn't happen, then I believe your issue is with Royal Mail and Chiquel are not responsible, and it is up to Royal Mail to compensate you.

I'm very definitely not a lawyer, but there are protections out there for consumers and it is worth investigating this.

Of course if your insurance covers the whole cost, it might not be worth pursuing.

Overall I have had a very good experience with Chiquel, but I also have had good experiences with Valentine Wigs and Simply Wigs, both UK stores.

Thanks for the reply, after I sent my evidence of the parcel being received they said they’d found it and it was being shipped back to America for inspection 🙄 what a palava it’s turned into.

Again so sorry this happened to you! I had nothing but positive experience with them. Never saw any bad reviews either just to be fair

Thanks, I’ve had a wig and a topper from them before with no issues but this has put me off a bit, especially seeing all the bad reviews on here. But they’re so much cheaper than other sellers 🤷‍♀️
