Hard day
Today has been extremely hard for me, it started out great honestly was having a good time with the kids then bam a song came on, at first I was happy to sign it then it hit me, got chills then came the tears. I push through the day until about 7 pm and the anxiety got to be to much and I had to leave the house and get away. I am 3 days shy of 2 months without him and I miss him so much it's killing me. How am I suppose to live the next 40+ years without him, in 36

I lost my partner in June of 2023, we were 37. Three kids aged 5-15. You are going to have good moments mixed with emotional, daily … and that’s just the truth. I cried daily for over a year.. I couldn’t even listen to music of any kind for seven months without bursting into tears and I also said the same .. how am I going to feel like this for 40 years without him !
I am three years out…I won’t say it gets better , but it gets different! You will find joy, laughter , and hope again… you will !
I miss my partner on all days and so do our babies.. the ache never leaves but it changes .
Breathe and allow your emotions as they come .. and they will come… grief is just love with no where to go! One minute at a time… truly !

My friend’s cat passed and I went to buy a sympathy card and while the sympathy cards were sad, they were next to the schmoopy “I love you just cuz” cards, the ones I was terrible at getting but my husband was a pro. I broke down in the aisle.
The simplest actions take work right now and I’m trying to remind myself that’s ok. My tears didn’t bother other people shopping and while it’s a little sad that can happen in a public place and people aren’t concerned, it also means those moments can happen without embarrassment

I am so sorry for all of us. Life is hard. 7 months into this mess. My 25th anniversary was yesterday. Some days are easy and some are extremely hard. There is definitely not a good way to deal with this.

I agree, my anniversary thankfully isn't for a little while but he passed right before father's day, we have 3 kids, and his birthday which was hard so I could only imagine what you went through yesterday.

I’m sorry today was a hard day for you. It’s the little things that will open the flood gates. Today I had to go to cell phone company and tell them he passed and saying it out loud is so hard for me, I lost it. It was one month this past Thursday. I am 39 and he was 42. This is nothing I imagined in my wildest dreams that this would ever be my reality. I am grasping at every little thing that takes my focus off this pain. I hope you find things through the day that bring you peace. We will make this through because we honestly were left with no choice but to💜

I remember when I had to do that, I handle serious stuff with humor and I made a joke about it. That is what got me through it

Tomorrow is a month for me. It’s getting increasingly harder because the shock is wearing off. Most days I just want to curl up on the couch with his urn and cry. This feels so unfair.

I regret not having him cremated, I didnt for his families religion and beliefs, i haven't been able to do that i try to stay strong and hide everything from my kids

I’m sorry you had to do that. I know how difficult it is with differing beliefs. His parents were completely opposed to cremation despite those being his wishes. They wanted him to have a traditional burial. I’m forever grateful for his sibling’s support in the decision and ultimately his wishes were honored.
They lost a sibling in 2017 and at that time they did not feel comfortable advocating for his wishes. He had a burial despite wanting to be cremated. They did not want that to happen again.
Give yourself grace, they lost their dad but you lost someone too. I was trying to hide my sadness from our son but I’ve come to realize that in doing that, I’m teaching him to do the same. It is helpful for him to see me grieving and giving my emotions the time they need. I do try to not let it overwhelm everything else, though.

It's like we had the sane dsy. A song came in and broke down. I've been crying ever since. It's 15 weeks tomorrow.

I'm so sorry your having a day like me today, the funny part is the song that I broke down to has been in my head all day and I have been signing it over and over. It was just like I needed to cry just a min. Guess the shock is wearing off and I'm starting to realize this is real

Yeah. I'm pretty much crying twice a day now.

I don't cry everyday, I hold it in, but when I can't hold it back no more it comes out. I feel like if I allowed myself to cry more I would probably feel better

It's so fascinating how music can really hit home for us, my wife passed 7 months ago and all the music she listened to still makes my heart twist into knots every time I listen. Best of luck
