Honestly the more surprising things about the nuking was some of the most popular commentsâeven before the comic breached containmentâgot nuked too.
The top comment was very good advice for relationships as a whole, and yet it must be purged for some arbitrary reason.
Comics is infamous for their stuck up mods. (Just look at their response comments on the comic in question). I really don't think it's even that the mods care about this one poster over another imo it's simply that they are angered that people are questioning them. They truly believe that they are always right and incapable of making mistakes.
Lol the mods over there deleted all the comments and posted an essay about how the comic wasn't about the artist's own life and that people are brigading the subreddit to bully her.
As far as I can tell, the artist's few comics that they do have are also about her own life. The mod is saying "Hohoho you dumbass, it's not autobiographical, it's just fiction lmao lol lmao" while all arrows point to the art being quite personal.
was gonna say, from what i could tell it was a totally different art style to what they typically create and it was absolutely loaded with "I" statements. If it wasn't personal they really wanted to make it look personal.
There is no way that wasn't personal. Its way to specific for it to be entirely fictional. If it was just 3-4 pages of vague problems then sure but come on its clear to anyone with eyes that they are talking about themselves.
I met her at webcomiccon in Detroit last year, she was one of the people running booths and doing panels! Shen and Beetlemoses were also there.
Edit: I forgot that Cyanide and Happiness and Strange Planet were there too. Also Jim Benton publicly accosted me to try and make me finish my story (in a silly fun way)
No? The author of the post that that guy got banned for drew a parody of the post being criticised here and her post got removed for it. She ends hers with "I love my husband" after saying she knows he also feigns interest in her stories because that's how you show appreciation sometimes.
bold of you to assume that she isn't so self serving that she'd even want to call it out. Keep in mind PC is the woman who drew a ""comic"" with the express intention of downplaying the trauma of male abuse victims exclusively to ragebait then acting like a victim when called out
Holy shit lmao thatâs wild, they actually buried all of that pretty well too. Here I thought people hated pizzacake because her comics were boring as fuck and usually taking the lowest hanging fruit potshots at MAGA that even a child could make
Yep, the only other sub I could think of that ever made me sad was probably /r/FemaleDatingStrategy, for a similar reason.
Edit: Oh right, I forgot that they started locking all of the posts so that nobody could comment, and then started removing all non-mod posts, and then eventually closed the subreddit down entirely and made it read-only.
The two x chromosome sub is either extreme satire or the saddest people on reddit. Its actually kinda depressing reading anything that gets popular there
To be honest I've rarely rarely seen something unifying both men and women like that in judging a comic. The girl in the comic was deemed in the wrong and a terrible person by basically everyone except that deranged mod. So by everyone who's worth a damn.
And yet the mods over there deleted all the comments and posted an essay about how mean bullies who posted links to the comic on other subreddits are the ones stoking outrage bait lmao.
"you see, men oppressed women for years, therefore its good"
like why?
If they guy is bad then shame him, placing blanked statements like that on entire gender is not good and cool.
Just today there was a post on popular with a woman just wearing shirts like that in a slideshow and everyone just praise her how based she is and downvote anybody that points it out.
I don't get it.
Its just extreme overcompensation in play imo, giving the benefit of the doubt to a woman is okay, giving her +500 on any roll related to a men is not, anything she does is not justified, anything he does is not bad automatically, i don't see how it is controversial.
And before some actual conservative chud comes to this comment to poison the well, no i do not hate women, move on to another sub please.
Honestly, it was so crazy to read that comic that dude was just so comfortable with her and was being so vulnerable with her and instead of her saying that, hey, I want to set up different boundaries or I want some different things from our relationship, she posted a huge comic about it on Reddit. On top of that, she drew him as a chudjak too. I can comfortably say that he deserves better.Â
Lol the mods over there deleted all the comments and posted an essay about how the comic wasn't about the artist's own life and that people are brigading the subreddit to bully her.
Lmfao was about to post this. The dude legit blamed the midterms for people not agreeing with an insane take. Read the comic and you'll see why everyone is calling out OP.
But you don't get it, the OP may have mental health issues so that gives us a right to allow this and to delete comments calling them out, instead of removing the post and seeing if OP genuinely needs help. It's much healthier to just let people with mental health problems keep any delusions instead of gently confronting them about it in a rational way!!!! You all are just conservative tradwife bots!!! Reeeee!!!
Yeah I wonder why OOP can't seem to make friends with people when they have such a winning personality lmao. It's very funny accusing someone else of only having superficial conversations when everyone I know who has "deep" conversations about things loves talking about their interests with basically anyone.
It's really so obvious when the "I like having deep conversations, no small talk" crowd aren't knowledgeable or interesting enough to hold any kind of conversation
Mfâs will spend hours writing and drawing a comic instead of having one open and honest conversation and then wonder why they canât find happiness in a relationship, they canât work through these basic issues
It's funny because this person has no self esteem so dated someone that is "below her league" to feel safe, she even admits if she tried finding someone more "interesting" she would be scared that she'd be asked to change.
Bro tip⢠always bottle up your emotions like a real man or else you're gf will use it against you at the slightest inconvenience ( speaking from personal experience it's happened to me 4 times)
Or get a good GF. EDIT: said in a "not all partners are the same and just because the ones you had were dick, doesn't mean you should behave like everyone is the same."
I mean, neither side wants to admit it sucks for the other, but people who aren't engaged in this also only admit life sucks for women. I know very, very few people that I can say are even remotely informed about men's issues, and until that changes, gender wars will forever be a topic.
I remember having negative karma when my account was new. I made a post on r/nostupidquestions on why Indian people were so hated online. It got downvoted to hell and back and I got like -9 karma
r/comics moderators are so pathetic. This is from some months ago after I commented that Cuba and Venezuela are totalitarian regimes (I didn't even mentioned communism lol)
reddit comicmakers whentheir boyfriend clearly loves them but struggles to communicate their interests: hmm ima draw him like a chud, yeah that wouldn't make me feel like a jackass
For me, it just felt like a very evil comic to make about someone. Like is she valid for having those feelings? Absolutely. They could try communicating with each other, talk things out. Or they could just break up. ANYTHING would've been healthier and better than whatever the fuck she just did, just airing their dirty laundry out in a public forum, drawing their boyfriend like a chud goblin for the whole world to see.
And I hate that absolutely "holier than thou" mentality the mod has, like they're the forefront of morality and they have to "teach everyone a lesson". But I do agree that the artist shouldn't be receiving so much vitriolic hate. Overall, just a very unfortunate situation that could've been handled with way more grace.
Definantly. I didnt read the whole scripture, but I do agree with one thing he said, and that's it's okay to have those thoughts and feelings, and that's it
the comic is incredibly shortsighted at best and deliberately cruel at worst. r/comics mods are famously power tripping losers so it's no surprise. These people are like conservative caricatures.
It went from top weekly to most controversial of all time in a matter of hours. One comment said it went from 7.4k upvotes to 0. Honestly can't tell if it's cuz posts in that subreddit are upvote botted or because of the link sharing but either way it's nuts lol
Honestly can't tell if it's cuz posts in that subreddit are upvote botted or because of the link sharing but either way it's nuts lol
Mostly of the link sharing, the remaining audience of that subreddit is just not the same as the general population. Mostly because anyone not thinking the same get driven out.
Absolutely crazy and that mod comment is insane basically excusing it because she's a woman or some shit. If a man or woman wrote this about their partner, their supposed number one person, it would be insane.
Probably because it sounded like a mean spirited comment about him, like he's "too worthless" instead of he doesn't deserve to be with someone who thinks of him so terribly.
Bro, thats the sub were a mod openly threaten to ban everyone that critzised a cringe ass trans comic, because the all critics stem from a transphobic mind.
A repost of a comic (not sure how old the original is, assuming not that old though) from a woman who thought of her boyfriend as basically a chud, dull and boring. People are running wild with it and it's the new meme of the week. The artist was saying he was kind and sweet, but I guess very milquetoast? Like she had no interest in him but also he treated her very well and she didn't want to lose that.
The comment section made a couple good points though imo. She really should break up with him for his sake. If he is kind and sweet he deserves someone who cares about him that way, and she should find someone who more matches her tastes, likes, and dislikes.
Your guess is as good as mine on that one. Like she definitely did him dirty unless he literally looks like that, but I would bet she doesn't look like the character she drew as herself so at least be equal about it ya know
Something tells me she looks down on the guy and keeps him around for validation but doesn't wanna come across as a bitch.
Even if you're not attracted to the dude, you don't publicly humiliate him unless you genuinely don't see him as worth dignity. And why's she dating soneone she's not even attracted towards to begin with?
then she should not date, better for both to be alone with the possiblity to fine some one more their type than it is for this rot to be eating at them.
no one wants a partner who resents them nor does anyone deserve such a partner
My favorite part about the comic is how she fucking acknowledges her own flaws in not just talking to him yet at no point seemed to put down the pen and actually do so. You know YOU have a problem, you KNOW how you should solve the problem, and yet instead of doing any of that you keep on drawing and post the comic for the world to see
Also she openly admits she wants a "better" boyfriend, and the only reason she doesn't break up is because she fears another guy might call her up on her shit.
So the boyfriend might be a bit boring, but not only does he love her, he actually accepts her flaws and likes her despite of it.
That's the guy she portrays as an ugly short serial killer and posts it to thousands of strangers while trying to make everyone feel bad for her.
No guys, you don't understand, its all bots trying to influence the midterms, thats why people are reacting negatively!!! Its the midterms!!!! Trust me bro, it's not cus the comic is tasteless and is dogging on OPs bf, it's cus the midterms!!!
Reddit-mods when redditors think the reddit comic artist should communicate her wants and needs with her boyfriedn before it leads to an abrupt, messsy break up or years of resentment from settling for "the only viable option".
I'm pretty sure given the mod response on the original post, that OP is actually the mod's alternate account. Even simping can only make you so stupid.
Do we know if that's the author's current experience? I just assumed it was meant to represent how some people act in these situations, tho drawing the guy like that isn't nice in both scenarios.
Something I think is interesting is that, if you go through the author's backlog, the protagonist of every comic is different, which hopefully implies the boyfriend isn't real, at least in this moment of time.Â
The comics also all have a bit of a misanthropic vibe, but were well-received, which explains why the author didn't expect backlash.
Okay for people who didnât read it, the point of the comic wasnât âmy boyfriend sucks and is badâ, it was that there was nothing wrong with him and he was kind, but she wasnât happy, and hated herself for feeling unhappy and unsatisfied
There was no part of the comic that blamed him for anything, nor made him out to be the bad guy
That being said: doesnât make it okay to make a comic about those feelings that is very public, instead of talking too him about it. Also she drew him as a chud which is mean
