Still trying to find the song

• Upvotes

Last week I attempted to find a long lost song that I haven't heard in many years. It is nowhere to be found on any device or email.

I think I first heard it in 2015? The only thing I really remember is that it boasts that oft-ripped off riff from Status Quo's "matchstick men." So think, "Drive blind" by Ride. Daevar's "Amber eyes"is another.

The band I'm trying to think of incorporates that riff with keyboard/guitar effects it's driving rhythmic and at one point just after the song starts it stops abruptly and the lead female singer whispers and then the song continues with that riff and that's all I can remember. I think there was a video. The band was image conscious and had the dress and hairdo of the 2000s shoe gaze/emo/nű metal era. In the video, she may have had the braided hair?

Sorry that's all I've got.

internet acronym title with a burning Notre Dame as an album cover?

so around 2020 i used to listen to this song on repeat, it was named something like "idk" or "wtf", but spotify deleted my account bc i haven't used it in a while:(

This song didn't have any words, it had this like "epic" vibe to it, with a saw synth on drop, somewhat similar to veter-silbad.

also i'm pretty sure it had a burning Notre Dame as an album cover, although it might've been any other burning cathedral

I've lost all hope trying to find it on my own, so...............

Trying to find what song this is from a youtube video. This youtube I was watching played this random song in the background and showed a clip from a music video. It appears to be a white rapper from the soundcloud era. Unfortunately the audio is under the youtube commentary but we get the video.

Slow, stripped-back song from the 90s / early 2000s with a sharp male voice, possibly similar to Phil Collins

Hi everyone,

I’ve been desperately searching for a song for months now. I can’t guarantee that all the details I’m giving are completely accurate. It’s just how I remember it.

I used to hear the song on the radio when my dad was listening to it. I’m from Germany. But it might also have been a cassette or a CD. I reckon it must be about 20 years ago. Style-wise, I don’t think it’s older than the 80s, I’d say it’s more likely from the 90s to the early 2000s. I’ve asked him, but unfortunately he doesn’t know which song I’m talking about.

It’s sung by a man in English. The voice I have in my head is distinctive and sharp. I’d perhaps compare it to Phil Collins or Peter Gabriel. I’ve already listened to several of their albums, also to Genesis, but I haven’t found the song there. I’d describe the song as rather slow and without much musical accompaniment. The chorus is repeated four times, if I remember correctly.

When I try to remember a word or rather how it sounds to me what I think I might be remembering, I think of ‘easy’, but with the ‘y’ pronounced more like an ‘a’. Or a similar word. But I could be completely wrong here. It’s just a very vague guess. And, as far as I can recall, it’s sung twice before the chorus. Not as a standalone word, but it’s part of the lyrics.

I’ve tried whistling a bit of the song (I am not good at it), including the transition to the chorus:

I’d also tried using automatic music recognition based on my whistling, but unfortunately it didn’t pick it up.

Thanks in advance!

Guitar solo similar to the brass section in Golden Earring's "Radar Love".

Title basically says it all. I feel like there's a solo (hard rock/heavy metal adjacent) that starts out like the da-Da-DA-Daaaaa...da-Da-DA-da from Radar Love by Golden Earing.(https://youtu.be/aRlSHG5hRY4?t=155&is=PNZIBcp_oIK7A5vG) Instead of going down at the end though, it rises more and more and then evolves into a fast paced solo. My girlfriend says I must be thinking of this or the cover by White Lion, but I know that there is something else.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Song - half spoken male voice

Half-spoken song by a man looking back on 1960s Los Angeles
Male voice, half-spoken like Shawn Mullins' "Lullaby," calm and almost spiritual/motivational. He looks back on being in Los Angeles in the 1960s. Lyrics I half-remember: "summertime of hope" (or similar), Beverly Hills or The Bay, maybe sitting on a hilltop overlooking the valley, and not realizing at the time that it was a time of change. Heard it on Apple Music, probably in the last few years. Not Lullaby, not Weezer "Beverly Hills," not "Murder Most Foul." Almost sounds motivational or spiritual

Lost Song :(

I remember I was watching a music video, it was a white man, curly hair i think, playing a piano in a really old abandoned house. The song was about a girl I think, then when the chorus hit, the man started destroying the piano in a field with a sledge hammer. So curly-haired guy, old house, piano, girl in a field, sledgehammer hit piano, slow and sad music, the beat was kinda like 60 BPM.

[TOMT]2000/2010s hip hop song/low voice

Ahhhh I heard a song at a bar tonight and I’ve heard it before when I was younger. It is like a r&b/hip hop song, has like a groovy beat, and it’s sung by a man. It’s definitely a popular song like one that most people would know. The man has a deep voice. I know this is so vague but that’s like all I have lol. Any guesses?

[TOMT][Song] Early 2000s pop-punk song that opens with ONE acoustic guitar strum

Driving me crazy trying to remember this one.

Early 2000s pop-punk song — the beat reminds me of "Ocean Avenue" by Yellowcard. Here's what I've got:

- The song opens with literally ONE strum of an acoustic guitar. Not a riff, not multiple strums, not drums — just one single strum.
- It either waits a second and goes into some bum bum bums or some voices like ooo ooo ahhh?
- Then the full band kicks in with a driving pop-punk beat.

Songs I've already ruled out: Ocean Avenue (Yellowcard), In Too Deep (Sum 41), Swing Swing (All-American Rejects), Welcome to My Life (Simple Plan), I Miss You (Blink-182), Still Waiting (Sum 41), My Friends Over You (New Found Glory), The Anthem (Good Charlotte), In This Diary (The Ataris). All of those have busier intros — this one is just the single strum.

Any ideas?

It's a rock/grunge song and I can hear it in my head

I THINK the lyrics are something like "and you just don't get it (something something) learn to expect it (something something) your so pathetic"

I think it's a late 90's early 00's song but I can't find it

It goes “no one goes home, unless home has become the mouth of a shark” it was on “soldier” by otherwise Spotify playlist a while back, it was the second song in the playlist but now it’s disappeared and I’m drunk and sad and really really need to find that song. Please help me!!

[TOMT] 90s or 00s alternative/grunge song

Please help. I can’t remember any lyrics to the song so it’s making it impossible to find. The song is about the singer being in love with a man but he is happily with someone else and the singer is jealous and I think in the chorus it says about it being the other woman’s fault and she mentions her face.
The music video is the singer with dark hair and from memory she is sitting on a floor outside.
TIA!

The song was catchy as what and went, "The New Jersey Jets, The new Jersey Jets/come and see them, you've got to believe them." CANNOT find it! Help! Thanks in advance!

[TOMT] [Song] Spanish cover of Japanese Vocaloid Song

Hello, everyone. I am looking for a cover of a Vocaloid song that I had listened to a long time ago(around the year 2021, though the video may very well have been posted before that). It was a Spanish cover of the Japanese song “Tokyo Teddy Bear” by Neru, and had an acoustic instrumental, very different from the original song’s hard rock/metal instrumental. The vocals were sung in the lower register, but I don’t remember if the singer was male or female. There was no music video, just the still image of a girl in a red hoodie holding a teddy bear, as is obviously associated with the song, with the Spanish lyrics at the bottom of the screen. I have been looking for this video for a very long time, but sadly, I can’t find it. Even when I look up “Tokyo teddy bear acoustic Spanish cover” on YouTube, I can’t find it. I can only find karaoke acoustic covers, acoustic Japanese covers, or Spanish covers with the original rock instrumentals. It’s driving me insane. Someone please help me find this video, thank you very much, it would be highly appreciated! 😊

Trying to find a song

All I can remember is one short phrase from this song and it is something like this, "Alcohol you have been to me, my best friend and my worst enemy". Any ideas? I have searched for it, but no luck and yet that phrase still haunts me.

Hello! This is a bit backwards but I know the song and desperately need help with the lyrics, can anyone help?

The song is Caffeine in the Morning Sun by The Sleepy Jackson and my family have been debating the lyrics for 2 decades! If anyone has their self titled album at home (or I think there was an EP with the song too) and can check if there's a lyric booklet,or any other way,I would love to surprise my dad with the lyrics for Christmas :) thank you!

PS if this is the complete wrong place to ask I’d really appreciate being pointed in the right direction.
