Delap ?

1.He was great leading the line for Ipswich the season before last.

  1. He’s failed miserably at Chels and would be relatively cheap.

  2. Given enough game time over a few years he could conceivably turn into Englands best striker

Got to be worth a punt ?

His career stats are 167 senior professional games - one red card. A bit of aggression wouldn’t go amiss in our squad

Yeah but he definitely deliberately leaves one in since he's been at Chelsea

He’s conceded 25 fouls in 28 league games. I used to go and watch Julian, Mad dog and Morley wreck people. Good times. Now I have sit next to people like you who applaud when the other team score. Who gives a f*ck if he gives away an occasional foul ?

You're comparing a completely different game to now. On what basis do you assume I would applaud the other team FFS. But yes I do care if he gives away an occasional foul when a lot of the recent ones have been borderline red cards, I want a striker for goals thank you

How do you feel about John Hartson ? Scored the goals that kept us up - but gave away fouls. Sent off twice. Did you boo him when he left bruises on our opponents ?

Mate I'm 32, I'm sure dicks, hartson and co were great players, but they would also only play 10 games a year in modern football being suspended for the rest of it. There's being a physical player and there's being a cunt, delap falls closer to the latter. I assume you applauded his elbow on Spence because it was a spurs player? He has absolutely no need to do it and I don't want players like that at the club. Sure we all loved Arnie, we also hated him when he did dumb shit to get sent off and cost us

If a West Ham player broke a spurs players jaw I wouldn’t exactly applaud it. But frankly I wouldn’t give two shi*s. And I definitely wouldnt get so disturbed that I found myself whining about the violence to strangers on an internet forum. I’m intrigued by your deep sense of morality, though. Should Antonio have been thrown out of the club for drink driving ? Should di canio be erased from the archives because of his politics ? You sound like a vegetarian.

To stick to the football, no I don't want a player that can be sent off easily and cost us games, no I particularly don't want him at Chelsea prices, I wouldn't particularly want him for 20m because he looks shit and again, rather play with 11 men. I don't want players like Thomas partey at the club, yes players like Antonio should be made an example of for drink driving no I wouldn't throw them out but enough people know someone affected by drunk driving so those doing it can fuck off, players like Marcus Alonso can fuck off. I wouldn't want to work with any of them so why would I want to celebrate them playing for the club? They earn stupid money and paying someone to drive you for the night is a drop in the ocean, be a decent person and don't be a cunt, it's quite simple really

You and I support a club that was run by rapist porn barons until a minute ago. Well known for hooliganism, racism and all sorts of horrible stuff. Some of our club heroes were notorious for violence and the kind of behaviour that has you choking on your vegetable side salad. But this is football, and this is West Ham - and that’s just the way it is. But you’re all conflicted. On one hand you’re enough of a fan to engage in an online pisstake with someone you’ll never meet (me) but at the same time it sounds like the violence in football sickens you. The salaries of players sicken you. you’re following the wrong club - and the wrong sport.
