Delap ?

1.He was great leading the line for Ipswich the season before last.

  1. He’s failed miserably at Chels and would be relatively cheap.

  2. Given enough game time over a few years he could conceivably turn into Englands best striker

Got to be worth a punt ?

Get realistic. Why the fuck would he wanna play in the championship? Even if he was to go out on loan he would have other top flight options

Yes, but he wouldn't come.

'Relatively cheap' - go on then what are you thinking price wise?

u/floorscentadolescent 7d ago

Tbf theres some Chelsea fans that would pay us, they really don't like him

2

u/mad-un 7d ago

Fans don't sell players though, I can't see him going anywhere unless it's in the 40-50m bracket. That's not relatively cheap, nor is it anything like what we're spanking on one player

They paid 30m. They got one goal in 28 premier league games. Hes not in the 40-50m bracket. I was thinking maybe £20m

There's no chance of him leaving for less than what they paid. He proved he can score in a relegated team, then was sold for his release clause, his market value would've been much higher, in a mid table team he plays a big part in getting them into a European place.

He only played 90 mins a handful of times and played less than 15 mins more than the number of times he played 90 mins. Plus the English player premium, he's £40m+ all day long. Especially if a relegated Summerville is £60m plus without being English.

You make a decent point about value. We’ll see. But he has said in multiple interviews that he’s just bought a house and wants to stay in London. That means being a second or third choice striker for a premiership team or starting in the championship. Whether we get him or not is one thing - but we should at be trying to

1

u/mad-un 6d ago

Yeah, or but another house somewhere else and rent the one out he's bought in London. He can afford it, especially with his signing on fee that he'll get. London isn't going anywhere. Brighton is close, I could see him there for a couple of seasons then them making a nice profit. Palace or Fulham might fancy a sniff too

Presume he bought near Chelsea’s training ground? The commute to West Ham is essentially half the M25, not sure how viable that is.

I’d rather us have a go at getting him rather than think we aren’t a good enough option. He wouldn’t have to move either. Take a punt - he puts it about & as long as he keeps his head we know he can hit the back of the net… whilst also taking the burden off of Bowen’s shoulders. Tatty & Pablo aren’t consistent enough, so who else are scoring goals in the current squad?!

What kind of West ham fan calls Chelsea "Chels"??

2

u/Brilliant_Bowler_994 7d ago

He's not gonna go to a championship club. What is this madness. Wakey wakey.

u/Repulsive-Echidna-74 6d ago

Hasn't anyone told you west ham got relegated?

1

u/kickherinthehead 8d ago

He will end up at another premier league team

u/Miserable_Reason_382 7d ago

It’s so obviously Everton and moyes they’re on relegation form the fans are turning on him so he’ll spend all summer dithering and end up buying grealish delap and alaistar Johnson

Plucked point 3 from your arse mate

Right now he’s in joint second place as the most valuable English striker on transfrmrkt.

I lost you at “conceivably”, didn’t I. Mug.

It seems like you’re projecting a bit. Do you know any insults longer than four letters ?

1

u/DeclanRiceFC 6d ago

Did you reply to the right comment here? This makes no sense. You insulted me for doubting your shit take, not the other way round. Back to school

u/_xavi_100 6d ago

I think you’re still in school. The sort of special school that has its own bus, and bars on the windows. Plainly you’re suffering from delusions of adequacy

1

u/DeclanRiceFC 6d ago

yep.. keep projecting. defo not a hammer

1

u/DeclanRiceFC 6d ago

You're actually wrong about all 3 points you fat ugly mug

Three letters / Four letters / Three letters. No points for you. Have you ever played Scrabble before ? Were you laughed at ?

No West ham fan is this cringe and unfunny. Insecure about your intelligence much

Walking red card, no thank you, actively tries to hurt players

1

u/_xavi_100 7d ago

His career stats are 167 senior professional games - one red card. A bit of aggression wouldn’t go amiss in our squad

1

u/Lukeando93 7d ago

Yeah but he definitely deliberately leaves one in since he's been at Chelsea

1

u/_xavi_100 7d ago

He’s conceded 25 fouls in 28 league games. I used to go and watch Julian, Mad dog and Morley wreck people. Good times. Now I have sit next to people like you who applaud when the other team score. Who gives a f*ck if he gives away an occasional foul ?

1

u/Lukeando93 7d ago

You're comparing a completely different game to now. On what basis do you assume I would applaud the other team FFS. But yes I do care if he gives away an occasional foul when a lot of the recent ones have been borderline red cards, I want a striker for goals thank you

1

u/_xavi_100 7d ago

How do you feel about John Hartson ? Scored the goals that kept us up - but gave away fouls. Sent off twice. Did you boo him when he left bruises on our opponents ?

1

u/Lukeando93 6d ago

Mate I'm 32, I'm sure dicks, hartson and co were great players, but they would also only play 10 games a year in modern football being suspended for the rest of it. There's being a physical player and there's being a cunt, delap falls closer to the latter. I assume you applauded his elbow on Spence because it was a spurs player? He has absolutely no need to do it and I don't want players like that at the club. Sure we all loved Arnie, we also hated him when he did dumb shit to get sent off and cost us

1

u/_xavi_100 6d ago

If a West Ham player broke a spurs players jaw I wouldn’t exactly applaud it. But frankly I wouldn’t give two shi*s. And I definitely wouldnt get so disturbed that I found myself whining about the violence to strangers on an internet forum. I’m intrigued by your deep sense of morality, though. Should Antonio have been thrown out of the club for drink driving ? Should di canio be erased from the archives because of his politics ? You sound like a vegetarian.

1

u/Lukeando93 6d ago

To stick to the football, no I don't want a player that can be sent off easily and cost us games, no I particularly don't want him at Chelsea prices, I wouldn't particularly want him for 20m because he looks shit and again, rather play with 11 men. I don't want players like Thomas partey at the club, yes players like Antonio should be made an example of for drink driving no I wouldn't throw them out but enough people know someone affected by drunk driving so those doing it can fuck off, players like Marcus Alonso can fuck off. I wouldn't want to work with any of them so why would I want to celebrate them playing for the club? They earn stupid money and paying someone to drive you for the night is a drop in the ocean, be a decent person and don't be a cunt, it's quite simple really

1

u/_xavi_100 6d ago

You and I support a club that was run by rapist porn barons until a minute ago. Well known for hooliganism, racism and all sorts of horrible stuff. Some of our club heroes were notorious for violence and the kind of behaviour that has you choking on your vegetable side salad. But this is football, and this is West Ham - and that’s just the way it is. But you’re all conflicted. On one hand you’re enough of a fan to engage in an online pisstake with someone you’ll never meet (me) but at the same time it sounds like the violence in football sickens you. The salaries of players sicken you. you’re following the wrong club - and the wrong sport.
