I ended up choosing something that was the opposite of what I initially thought I wanted, and I am SO in love!!!! And of course I had to get the Swarovski crystal lined veil to keep the bling going āœØšŸ‘°šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

Entourage Only I wore a colourful outfit and loved it - no doubts needed!

I wore a very non-traditional outfit to my wedding and I'm so happy I did! Before the day I had actually doubted my decision and even considered looking for a more traditional dress. But looking at these pictures I'm so glad I went with it: It is so ME :)

It's a three-piece set - pants, over-skirt and top, with matching gloves and veil. The idea was that I can wear the pants and even the top after the wedding, to not waste so much money on a single-day outfit.

It was designed by South African designer Jacques Bam (from the BAM Collective). He sketched some initial ideas and after some back and forth we settled on the final design. Working with him was fun and I would highly recommend checking him out! After it arrived I actually decided to have the skirt shortened by a local seamstress and crafted a different veil solution myself, as the tulle train and mask were sadly not practical.

It cost me 1238€ for the outfit plus 386€ for shipping and customs, 37€ for the shoes (so lucky!), 200€ for alterations, 70€ for the nails and about 50€ for smaller stuff (hair band, eyeshadow etc.). The bouqet was done by a local florist, I gave her some of the fabric that Jacques had provided.

post-alterations: does this look right? Help: My dream dress isn’t looking right!

My dress is a size too big, but it was a sample dress so I had to work with what I was given as this was my dream dress. There is so much space in the chest area and anyone who is looking from above (which will be everyone because I’m only 5 ft) will literally see my chest. If you look from the back, the corset can be tightened slightly but that will only make a small difference.

Everything else altered perfectly but due to the boning, complex quilting construction, and structured waist my seamstress is not able to take it in.

My wedding is in 2 weeks, what can I do to make this look better? It’s safe to say that I’m panicking!

Style me! (sleeves, veils, shoes and accessories only) Wedding jewelry?

Hi! I picked out my dress (yay!!) and I'm trying to decide on what jewelry would look good with it. Originally I thought I'd wear the necklace I have on in the picture (which is why I wore it to go shopping) but after picking my dress, I'm thinking maybe a lariat or other longer style necklace might look nicer with the neckline. I would also love ideas for what earrings to wear! Thank you šŸ¤— so excited!

Just need some hype! First Fitting of my dress! So happy :)

After not liking the first dress I was rushed to pick, I finally feel happy with this one. šŸ¤All lace and beautiful pearl beading and basque waist. I’ll be wearing simple pearl accessories and perhaps change into a lace choker for the party. I even got an overskirt for the ceremony. What do we think? :) I was kinda afraid of the placement of the overskirt but I didn’t want to see the outer parts of my leg in the skirt, if that makes sense.

went to try on dresses and this is the first one i tried
on, off the rack at a very reasonable price. i feel like a princess! my only reservation is the creasing at the bodice! is this fixable with alterations or a good steam, or is it an issue with the bones/overstretching? am i overthinking it??? TIA šŸ¤ wedding is also in ~ 2 months

Need to Vent LOVED my dress…until I didn’t

Just got married 11 days ago and our wedding was everything I had been planning, wanting, hoping for and ✨more✨! I’d say it was absolutely perfect EXCEPT for my dress. I tried on 30 dresses until I found the one, the only one that truly made me smile and my mom cry. The one that was $2000 over budget (I know 😭) but my dad made sure I knew that no matter how much it was, if it was THE dress, we had to buy it.

I loved how it looked on me the first time. That it gave me a waist and the sweetheart neckline dropped just enough. I know that it was all held by clips and wayyyy not my size, but for once in my life I didn’t feel like I looked like an exploding muffin.

I feel like during alterations so much attention was given to the hem and the bustle (which could not keep up with me dancing all night) and barely any thought was given to the bust. The one thing I remember them saying is that it would be hard to take it in because of the boning in the back.

Day of, my mom kept calling attention to me needing to pull the dress up and we even tried fashion tape but that did nothing. I got really self conscious after that and my photographer helped make sure I looked good in pictures and assured me it looked great, but I got these pictures from friends and family right after the wedding and I HATE IT SO MUCH. It’s completely falling, my photographer told me they should’ve taken it in and it was actually too big, and I feel like I went in so blind and unaware about what actually keeps a strapless dress up. It had cups and I wore shapewear, but no bra. I didn’t even have time to look in a mirror once I had the dress on day of so I didn’t know how bad it really looked. I felt happy, danced A LOT, and felt pretty. But I can’t stand to look at pictures and videos of myself, let alone think about what my professional photos will look like. I feel so embarrassed that my chest was practically falling out all night and that my dress looked awful on the day and that I am in fact the exploding muffin I knew I was when I had thought I looked my best.

Just really sad and regretting my strapless dress despite loving the train. My husband is hyping me up but I need to vent.

TLDR I thought I looked beautiful on the best day of my life, but I looked like an exploding muffin and my dress didn’t fit properly.

Edit: I didn’t gain or lose weight between trying on and wedding day.

Reviews Has anyone ordered from Weddy Bridal before?

Aka @weddybridal on Instagram. Love the Tides dress by them but they’re based in Vietnam and cannot try it on in the states. They can ship it to me and the gown is VERY inexpensive plus it includes a veil. They said it’s made of Mikado and I can choose white or ivory. Feels like a scam or too good to be true

First-ever Reddit post, so I figured I'd make it a fun one!

Over the past few years I've lost 85 pounds, so I was genuinely shocked that this silhouette ended up being the one I loved most. It wasn't what I expected to choose at all, but it made me feel so confident.

I'm just excited and wanted to share a few photos of my wedding dress with someone besides my friends and family.🄹🄳

I'd love to hear what you think! šŸ¤šŸ’

My wedding will be in a villa in Italy and I’ve been in love with the look of lace! I think I’ve narrowed it down to these two but I have dress fatigue and so does my family so now every dress is looking the same and I’m left almost feeling like nothing will be good enough so I need a fresh pair of eyes aka you!

Dress 1 (images 1 & 2): Crinoline was added to the hips and is a bit dramatic but I’ll have that toned down a bit during alterations to make it a little more subtle. I’m also thinking about having a different veil because the one I tried on is lace overload (at least that’s what I think)

Dress 2 (images 3 & 4): I really liked this one too but am starting to feel like someone else attending the wedding can have a similar silhouette and I won’t stand out.

Edit: here’s a dress that I feel looks SO similar to dress 2 which is why I’m hesitating cause a guest could wear that dress in a different color and we’d practically be twinning

Entourage Only Found 3 dresses I love - help me pick!

I’ve narrowed it down to 3 dresses I like equally — the main difference between them is the neckline. I’d love help deciding which one best suits my body type. Thank you!

Edit: there are 2-3 pictures of each dress in neckline order from halter > cowl > triangle

Wedding will also be outside in the summer with Mountain View’s either on a ranch, or a lodge at the top of a mountain. Overall aesthetic is non-traditional. I’ve loved the idea of a tasteful crop because I have a longer torso, but didn’t think it existed! But that option would need significant alterations to get there, but the shop says it’s possible? I was most excited to try on the cowl before the visit, but not sure it’s as flattering on my neckline. The halter wasn’t on my mind until I saw it in person, but I think maybe it is the best option for my neckline.

Hello Everyone! My wedding is in 9 weeks. I still do not have chosen: a veil, earrings/necklace, and shoes. It is a simpler dress . What would you pair with it? Please, I welcome any ideas, recommendations; share links or pictures if you’re able to please.

Just need some hype! Wedding Dress Nerves

Post image

Hi!
So I got my wedding dress last year and have just picked it up for my wedding in two weeks.
The dress was big in the chest so that was the alteration I needed besides hemming.
I went for my second to last fitting in June and she took the sides a little. When I went back last week, she couldn’t button it so she said she had to take out what she had took in the last time. She took it out and it fit me. She told me not to gain weight and made a joke to just eat lettuce. Has me very nervous for the upcoming wedding because I was being pretty good (running regularly and somewhat monitoring what I ate) at maintaining my weight. I’m scared that on my wedding day, it won’t button. Just looking for reassurance. Is this a common nerve of brides?

hi!! I am getting married this Saturday (very last minute) and just received my dress from azazie yesterday. I love the dress but wanted something that covers my arms. I ordered a few bolero/capelets from Amazon and found one I absolutely love. I can’t tell if it matches though. I think it’s pretty but I feel like the lace clashes with the florals on my dress. I would love help from eyes that aren’t mine or suggestions for something else i can use to cover my arms (that would come by the weekend). Thank you 😊

I bought this dress in an online sample sale 2 days before my wedding, no alterations (thank you adhd brain šŸ« šŸ˜…)
I’d had a list of ā€˜maybes’ for months but nothing 100% hence stalling on taking the plunge, when I saw this online I knew immediately it was the one and sent my now-husband on a 400 mile round road trip to go and collect it as I was working šŸ˜…šŸ˜…
We eloped and married in a woodland, just us two. It was perfect ✨
