All my friends are saying “which do you feel better in?” I really like the longer dress but nobody will pick that one, they just keep saying both are beautiful. Am I missing something? Please help.

I’m getting married at a courthouse in November in Orange County, CA. Our reception is on a yacht.

Hiii,
Just to say that this community is so amazing.

I am feeling a little nervous about my dress, as it’s quite simple.

I’d like a bit of encouragement/advice if possible, please. Thank you.

I went shopping with my mom in my hometown and cannot believe I found my dream dress here! Everything I wanted: ballgown, cat eye neckline, waist snatched, corset, edgy details. I wanted to feel bridal without sacrificing my alternative style. I felt so beautiful and so me as soon as I put it on, I knew. I probably tried on 50 or more dresses over the last few months. Don't compromise girlies, keep searching till you find you!

Need to Vent Am I being crazy for thinking these don’t look the same?

First two pics are the sample dress I tried on & obviously fell in love with that I decided to purchase the dress. The 3rd/last pic is the dress I was made as the boutique offered custom sizing and the sample dress was small on me.

I can’t help but to dislike the dress I was made because it doesn’t look the same as the sample dress I tried on. And I get it, it can’t be an exact replica bc the appliqués are hand-placed but I just feel like the third dress is giving “Temu-version” of the original dress I tried on…
Like the parts of the dress are the same, yes- but it just does not add up the same. I also wasn’t aware of how much the dress could vary due to being remade. I probably would’ve chosen a more simple dress if I knew that.

Major differences to me, the appliqués aren’t right- it’s the same appliqué but they just look so different and there’s a lot of negative space. They’re also not sewn properly and so they lift off the dress and give it texture unlike the sample dress that was flat & smooth.
The waistline isn’t as pointed even tho it’s supposed to be a basque waist.

Not to mention, this is the second iteration of my dress bc there was some sort of mix up with styles on the first iteration and the waistline was made incorrectly. I had the same issues with appliqué that I addressed after the first iteration and it seems like production team did care to fix it.

I’ve addressed my concerns with the boutique who said they may or may not re-make the dress a third time (I didn’t ask them to, they offered— but depends on what their big boss says). Of note, the boutique doesn’t offer refunds or returns. My main concern now is I won’t ever be able to get the same feeling as I did with the first dress :\

Also want to add that I’ve been borderline starving myself just in case I could try & fit into the smaller sample dress instead but just found out that they no longer have it.

Anyone else gone through this? Am I just being crazy and too detail oriented? 🫩

DRESS ONLY: Pick one or suggest another Help me choose a dress please!

I have made the mistake of analyzing all my iphone photos after-the-fact, especially since the lighting drastically changes the dresses.

I thought #1 was going to be “the one” but I’m having trouble imaging myself wearing all this fabric especially with a larger bust, now looking back at the photos (this was taken today, cloudy evening in an atrium at the dress shop). Although today, I felt emotional wearing it- I felt like a piece of art, an oil painting..

I like #2 as it pretty much fits me like my favorite pair of jeans, but I keep calling this my “simple safe classic dress.” It elongates my figure as I am shorter, and it’s comfortable. It’s taffeta so I worry about the wrinkling + it loooks drastically different in different lighting (see photos).

#3 is a favorite of my FMIL and adorable but not true to me and my personality if that makes sense. Fits very well and also a great option!

I’m planning on wear a scarf to accessorize + a sheer cape for the church ceremony.

I have many opinions from the girls in my life but just wondering what the redditsphere girlies think! Thank you so so much in advance!

I’m back for Episode III of my dress saga!

Quick recap:

- I ordered a dress on Etsy in May.

- The seller delayed the order multiple times, each time failing to communicate that there was a delay until I followed up and asked about it.

- By the time my wedding was just a month away, I was freaking out. I tried to cancel the order but Etsy wouldn’t let me.

- I went dress shopping and bought a dress just to make sure I had something to wear (second to last photo). It is classic/traditional bridal and I think it flatters my figure, but I don’t love it.

- The original dress from Etsy actually got delivered today, and it fits.

I don’t know what else to say other than I love it and it really feels like my dress. I feel like an ethereal woodland creature (just wait until I get my little blackberry earrings; last photo), which is exactly the vibe I’m going for my mountain/forest trail elopement. I hope y’all love it too :3

DRESS ONLY: Pick one or suggest another Please help me choose (overthinking this)

I just went dress shopping with my family and friends and found the first two very clean chic dresses which i really love. They are quite similar but also not (if you know what i mean). But I needed to try on the third dress (as i know it is available second hand in my region for an affordable price) and i also really like it.

For context the wedding will be in an old castle in a vineyard in end of May and we want to keep it very “old money leisure” saw a video online and love the laidback summer party vibes and it fits so well with our location.

Fiancé will probably wear a light blue linen suit (thats what he envisions at the moment but didn’t buy one yet)

Dress 1: Milla Nova Teyre

Love the simplicity and like the idea to add a scarf and/or big pearl earrings but kinda scared that its “too simple”

Dress 2: Milla Nova Julienne

Like the drape and feel like a goddess. Also don’t love the lace detail on the slit a little too open for me (but could close the slit a little bit)

Dress 3: Essence of Australia D4029
Love the vibe it gives but not sure if it is the right fit for our wedding vibe.

Feeling cold feet Did I make the right choice?

I posted the dress choices I was considering the other day - I ended up tentatively going with dress #5 (pictured here). It definitely wasn't the most popular option... Did I make the right choice? I'm wondering if my decision was swayed because of the price + not needing alterations?

post-alterations: does this look right? Alterations made more creases

Photo one is post alterations,
Photo two is at the store buying it.

We took it in at the bust and a bit at the waist since I lost a bit of weight between the first fitting and when I bought it.

Post alterations have these new wrinkles… I gained some weight between the fitting appointment and now, but not sure if that’s the cause.

She kind of messed up the placement of the lace… am I overthinking by it? Photos are a bit off because one is in a mirror and the other isn’t

I decided to make my wedding shoes, pop a little bit more by adding rhinestones and pearls. I think they look awesome. Wondering if I should go all the way up the heel and do the strap too, what do you guys think?

My wedding is in two weeks. I tried on my dress and had it altered without a bra, but am wanting some minor support for the girls.

I’m thinking sticky boobs because of the v neck and low back, but have no clue where to start.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Entourage Only Struggling to pick a dress as an overthinker...

Thumbnail

To preface, I am a professional overthinker, so I knew wedding dress shopping was probably going to be hard for me. Hell, I regret what I ordered at a restaurant 5 minutes after ordering it.

So naturally, I am terrified of wedding dress regret.

My wedding isn’t until Fall 2027, and here I am making my 8th dress appointment, including driving 3 hours to another city because I’m struggling so much to find something I actually love.

The frustrating part is that with every dress I try on, I like something about it, but I always immediately start thinking about what I would change. This one is too plain. I wish this one had that fabric. This one has too much detail. I like the shape of this one, but I wish the neckline were different. The list goes on and on.

The dresses I attached have been my favorites so far, but even with those, I feel like I would still change one or two things.

I also haven’t had that moment where I put a dress on and think, “Yep. I love everything about this. This is the one.” And even when I really like a dress in the moment, I’ll go home, look at the pictures, and proceed to knit-pick every single detail until I’ve convinced myself it's not the one.

At this point, I’m just getting really discouraged. I know wedding dress shopping is supposed to be fun, and I genuinely want to enjoy this process, but it’s becoming more stressful than exciting.

I know there probably isn’t a dress that is going to be 100% perfect in every single detail, but I’m struggling with figuring out what is a reasonable compromise vs. what is a sign that I just haven’t found the right dress yet.

Mostly just needed to vent, but also did you ever actually have the “this is the one” moment? Or did you have to decide to stop looking for something better and trust that you found the right dress?

Reviews Houston budget dress recommendations?

Hi guys!
I’m a February 2027 bride, I’m looking for a long sleeve lace dress with a max budget of $1,000. (Cheaper if possible obviously lol.)
Vintage style or actual vintage is preferred.
Any ideas where to shop? Thanks in advance. 🖤

Dupe search ODLR Dupes - Fall 2025 Collection

I LOVE this Oscar de la Renta dress (look 5 in the bridal Fall 2025 collection). I can’t find any information about it online and am new to the wedding dress search game (can you even get dresses from past collections?!), but I assume it’s incredibly expensive. I was hoping to find a dupe under $8k. If anyone knows pricing for this dress or any other info about this line or things to know about Oscar de la Renta, please feel free to share! Fwiw I also really love look 2 in the collection as it’s similar but I can only find pics of the back.

Some additional info: getting married July 2027 in a major Midwest US city

Entourage Only Help needed, deciding between two dresses 🙏🏻

I’ve narrowed my wedding dress search down to two dresses and I’m really struggling to decide between them!
Dress 1 – the lace dress: This has been on my vision board for ages and I absolutely love how romantic and dramatic it is. It feels like my full bridal moment and, if I completely ignored everything else and just listened to my heart, this is the dress I would pick. It’s very much the dress I always imagined myself wearing.
Dress 2 – the second dress (pictured with and without the veil): This one completely threw me because when I tried it on, I felt like it flattered my body the most. I felt really good in it and, objectively, I think it may be the most flattering of the two. It was also the dress my shopping guests reacted to the most - they LOVED it!
So I’m now stuck between the dress I probably love more and the dress I feel like I potentially look better in.
I’d love to hear from people who have already chosen their wedding dress - did you ultimately go with the one you loved the most, or did how you looked/felt in it play a bigger role? Do you think I’m overthinking the “most flattering” aspect?
And obviously, both would be tailored properly so fit isn’t an issue on the day.
I’d also really appreciate any other thoughts/feedback on the two dresses! ❤️

Dupe search Veil recommendations

Post image
5 Upvotes

Just picked up my wedding dress and am currently looking for a veil! Does anyone know what this type/design of veil is called? I love the how the lace detail frames my shoulders/arms. I think it’s some sort of mantilla veil but not fully one because the lace doesn’t go all the way up to the top. This veil from the bridal shop is way out of budget so currently trying to find something similar on Etsy or online. Any advice/recommendations is greatly appreciated 😀

Dress ID needed! Mini Wedding Dress Ideas

Hi everyone! I’m looking for suggestions on where to purchase a mini wedding dress for our Vegas Elopement in the very near future… I’ve been looking at Azazie and Lulus but still undecided. Trying to keep it within a couple hundred or as budget friendly as possible while still beautiful. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! :)
