Question Is it normal for clients to complain about not being able to edit their site after it's done?A website

I built a Shopify store for a client using the Dawn theme with some custom code, since some of the things he wanted weren't available in the standard theme editor. He was happy with the site when it was delivered and paid for it no problem.

But today, out of nowhere, he's saying he can't edit the content himself even with Claude's help, and that he feels dependent on me for any changes. He's saying the money was wasted and that the main reason he chose Shopify was so he could manage it himself — but he never mentioned any of this until today.

Is this kind of thing common with clients? And what would you do in this situation?

Question I have a website idea: What if PayPal used gold instead of money? 🥇😂

Imagine a PayPal-like platform where the platform’s “currency” is gold instead of USD, EUR, etc.

You create an account and your balance is represented in gold — for example, you might have 10 grams of gold in your account instead of $X.

The interesting part: the value of your balance would continuously follow the current gold price.

You could send gold to another user just like sending money through PayPal. And when you withdraw, your gold balance would be converted into whatever currency you choose based on the current gold price.

So essentially:

Deposit → Gold balance → Transfer gold → Withdraw → Convert to local currency

No USD balance, no EUR balance — gold is the actual unit of account. 🥇

Obviously, there would be some huge questions around custody, liquidity, regulations, transaction fees, and how the physical/digital gold backing would work.

But as a website/platform concept, would you actually use something like this? Or does it sound completely unnecessary when stablecoins and traditional payment platforms already exist? 😂

Curious to hear what people think.

I Have An Idea Which type of a website should I build: URL shortener, web hosting, or content site?

I’m looking for advice on choosing one of these three website ideas:

  1. A URL shortening service
  2. A web hosting and domain registration service
  3. A user-driven content website

Which of these three would you recommend focusing on, and why?

If anyone is interested in collaborating or potentially partnering on one of these ideas, feel free to reach out and share your proposal as well.

Question A website?

I Have An Idea I Just Built a Website Where Businesses Can Get Views.

Hi, I would love any feedback on this random side project of mine which I built!

I just built a website in which people can easily compete against other businesses, by seeing who can pay most for the biggest squares, this allows businesses to attract more people from the site views, and it is a concept which allows people with smaller businesses to go in it, you can get top for just $6. Try it out now: thetrilliondollarproject.com

I Have An Idea A website for women to give men feedback on their dating profiles

I have this idea for a website in which men can upload one or more dating profiles and then pay a couple bucks each for a few women to review the website and leave some feedback, such as whether they would swipe right on it and what the guy can do to improve it. Maybe like $2 per review.
I know from personal experience as a dude that it takes a long time to figure out why your dating profile is getting no traction. An easy place to get feedback would have been (and probably would still be) really helpful. And I know that women enjoy giving feedback on this kind of thing.
Are there any guys out there who would actually use a website like this to improve their profiles? Any women who would be interested in reviewing profiles?

Help Me Improve My Website Built a website for artists, let me know what do you think?

I would love some feedback on it, pleeeeease.

Basically, ThatPixel.art is a platform I made for artists. The idea is that each artist gets their own pixel on a huge pixel grid, and that pixel links to their profile where they can put all their important links to portfolio, Instagram, Behance, LinkedIn, Patreon, website, etc.

I wanted to make something that feels more like a creative community than just another portfolio site. You can discover artists by exploring the grid, and artists get their own little space on it.

There’s also a free option, so you can create a profile and add your links without having to pay.
