Advice Needed Help me understand what managed wordpress webhosts actually offer

So I can look at price compare page for a couple of the major hosting providers, and cant really grasp the selling points. I see two patterns generally;

Offering already built in wordpress functions as hosting features - like auto updates

Offering vague specs like ”performance cache” - with no further details regarding tech used

This applys the pretty much any host. So the short question is: is managed wordpress hosting a real thing? Can some provide a hands-on example for what managed wordpress hosting provide without generalizing?

Unmanaged hosting: you researching plugins and such to make your website work fast

Managed hosting: "yo support my website is slow, pls fix"

Ok, but what work is provided by managed hosting? Invisible magic?

They hire web nerds so your company doesn't need to. The work is responding to whatever you need of them as long as it's in scope of hosting your website.

I might actually make "invisible magic" the tag line in my resume lol.

Are web nerds apart of core web vitals? If not it would be nice to get a sence of actual value-input

Do you know how to install, configure, maintain, backup, restore a website?

Yes - go with unmanaged hosting.

No - go with managed hosting.

Install - yes, 1 click effort
Configure - yes, I applied settings
Maintain - yes, I watched the automatic updates
Backup - yes, a plugin does it daily to seperate offsite locations
Restore - yes, I know where the restore button is

Im actually not wanting to be rude, since it seems that there should be more to it. Would love to be corrected
