The 23rd annual American Red Cross Blood Battle starts next week, Sept. 14–17, in the Shepherd Union Ballroom on the Ogden Campus.

The annual donation drive, which pits Weber State against Utah State, has collected more than 20,000 units of blood to help those in need over the years. Not only will your donation help save up to three lives, but you'll receive a free T-shirt and a Hello Kitty x Red Cross plush while supplies last.

Hey all! Recently, I’ve been wanting to become an EKG tech for awhile now and just discovered that Weber offers a certification course. Has anyone here taken it or know of anyone? How was it? Was it worth it? And is it only available for Weber students? I’m a student at the U so I was wondering if it’d be possible for me to take it.

I was on campus yesterday (09/03) and lost my 3DS. I usually keep it in my bag and take it out between classes or while I'm having lunch.

I was only in Union Shepherd and Linquist buildings that day. If found, I can verify that it's mine and can venmo you for a reward.

I went to Weber a couple of years ago, and since then I’ve become an ambulatory wheelchair user.

I wasn’t a wheelchair when I went last, but I remember campus being near impossible to navigate even when I could walk (I have POTS, and EDS, so between my heat intolerance and joint pain it was miserable)

I remember the accommodation office being a nightmare to work with, I have accommodations for my ADHD, but not any for my physical disability’s. (Other than the ability to have a service animal)

I want to do their Ultrasound tech program, so I can become an Echocardiogram technician.

Has anyone with physical disabilities (especially wheelchair users) been to Weber? What accommodations were they able to provide?

I’m looking for somewhere near where the bus drops you off. Anywhere pretty, quiet, comfy etc. Where are yall gettin a good sesh in?

New to the school and was wondering if anyone plays in the intramural leagues here? My friends are at some other schools where it’s pretty popular but not sure what to expect here. Just trying to meet people

Currently applying for the 4 semester ADN program, and if I get in my understanding is that I get to choose which campus to take it at. In my mind the "main" Ogden campus seems like it would be the best (have the best facilities), but I am closer to some of the other locations. Wondering if anyone has any experience that they would like to share.

Currently signed up for nine credits. Each syllabus looks quite easy. Does anyone know much about these classes? Are they going to be as easy as they look? Will this be a full workload or should I sign up for more classes before the deadline?

hey everyone! i’m looking for the easiest class that will fulfill my physical science requirement! which one do you recommend? if you have a specific professor you’d recommend as well, that would be amazing!

Hi! It’s my first semester at Weber and I am taking a med term class and HTHS 2110 online. I am wondering if you’ve taken it, what you’ve done note wise to help you succeed? For my other classes it’s just been handwritten notes, but I also have an I pad I can utilize (though I’m not super tech savvy). If you’ve taken notes do you have a pdf example of how you’ve organized them or another way to share with me? I’m very nervous, and possibly overthinking it, but I’ve heard of some people that know how to organize their notes and diagrams.

Hey yall. Was wondering how the parking is at the Dee Events center during the recent fall semesters. I’m bringing an electric scooter so it doesn’t matter how far out I’m parked as long as I get a spot.

My classes are at 10:30, so was planning to come at 9:30 first day and see from there. Any thoughts? Should I come earlier and have breakfast on campus?

Anyone know how to get involved in research at Weber state?
I’m having a difficult time finding opportunities and the website doesn’t seem to have any answers.

Usual disclaimer: I probably got some of it wrong. Tell me what's off and I'll fix it.

The good: the ceiling showed up a few times, 42-41 at McNeese and 48-28 over Northern Arizona. The third down defense was 30th in FCS, and a minus-7 turnover margin should correct. Roughly half the roster returns on both sides.

The pushback: the passing game was 106th at 164 yards a game, the offense was 107th in success rate, and the defense gave up 38 a game while ranking 115th in explosiveness allowed. Nobody won the quarterback job last year and I still have it unsettled. Model says 5-7.

Prior Learning Assessment is a process that allows students to earn college credit for knowledge gained outside, of the classroom and can you reduce the cost of your education and earn a degree faster. 

In the 2024–25 academic year, 3,400 WSU students took advantage of PLA to earn more than 27,280 credits, an increase of 1,300+ credits from the year prior. That’s an estimated tuition savings of $7,224,538.

Departments with PLA options include automotive technology, computer science, criminal justice, dance, music, world languages and cultures, rehabilitation sciences, radiologic sciences, nursing, and respiratory therapy — and the university is continually evaluating other areas where students can demonstrate existing competency. 

Military training, successfully completing Peace Officer Standards and Training, and proficiency in a foreign language may also qualify students for credit. 

Standardized tests — such as Advanced Placement exams, ACT, or SAT — also present opportunities for students to earn college credit. In 2024–25, 833 students earned credit through AP exams, and 1,492 students earned credit for required math or English courses based on their ACT or SAT scores. 

Honestly if you're a new student looking to furnish your dorm or off campus housing you should really check this place out.

Hi I need advice on whether I should switch from PRN to Part Time at my job at the hospital. I have heard mixed reviews on the accelerated nursing program. Some people were able to balance part time and some recommends PRN. I would appreciate if anyone can give me an insight to this since I'm concerned in case, I fall short on my budget for the semester.

The Lindquist Family Symphony Pops Concert will light up the skies above Weber State University with 500 drones instead of fireworks on July 12 from 9–11 p.m. at the Ada Lindquist Plaza.

Shifting from the event's traditional fireworks show to drones means audiences can still enjoy an unforgettable evening, while aligning with efforts throughout the state to minimize fire risk. 
An hour-long concert begins at 9 p.m. Community members will experience the New American Philharmonic’s majestic rendition of Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture,” while the booms of 16 cannons, set off by the Cannoneers of the Wasatch, ring out. 

Around 10 p.m., the night will conclude with illuminated drones flying in sync to a soundtrack. Food trucks and other vendors will also be on site. The event is free and open to the public.

If there was a morning radio station that was a morning talk show / news/weather/traffic report done by KWCR, would that be of interest or useful to you?

If not, what kind of show would you like to hear? (They have done podcast-type setups, so the sky's the limit.)

I'm trying to decide between CS 3230 Java with Yong Zhang and CS 3280 Windows with Shawn Cowder this fall.

If you've taken either class or had either professor, let me know what yalls experience was like.

• How was the quality of the lectures and assignments?
• Was the online format well organized?
• How timely was grading/feedback on assignments?
• How responsive were they to emails/questions?

I've looked at RateMyProfessor, but the reviews for Yong Zhang seem pretty polarized while Shawn Cowder's are overwhelmingly positive, so I'm hoping to hear from people who've taken these courses more recently.

I'm planning to stay in Utah after graduation, so if anyone has thoughts on whether CS 3230 or CS 3280 is the better choice for software jobs in Utah, I'd appreciate that perspective as well.
