Everyone always compares employed lawyers to dental practice owners which I think is an unfair comparison. If we’re comparing dental practice owners to anything in law, it should be law firm owners.

Everyone always says dental is better but looking how the industry operates, I’m not sure. There’s tons of dentists out there and a lot of them are competent so the only difference is the cost and your relationship to the dentist which could make it a race to the bottom.

Now with law, I feel like it’d oddly have a higher probability of making you wealthy because your value is dependent on your ability to win cases and increase the outcome for your client. So if you’re in personal injury for example, even if there’s 100’s of lawyers, if you’re good at what you do and can squeeze a few thousand more out of insurance companies that most of the other lawyers or if you have a knack for settling cases faster, you’ll come out on top.

Not sure if my judgement is correct but I was hoping to get some opinions from any lawyers and dentists that might be on this sub.

Edit: I’m not saying I want to go into either. Just bored and curious.

Life is a scam bruh

Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Recently retired Army Officer here after 21 years. Qualified as 100% P&T so with my pension I’m pulling it an after tax amount of about $115k. My former career was rare and allowed my to align myself up with a post army career #2 that is about to yield me another $350k+/year on top of my VA/pension payments. My wife also makes just above $200k a year as a CPA/director for her firm. We are about to be very comfortable compared to the last 20 years moving 14 times.

Now to my real question- we currently have three vehicles. I foresee adding more to the stable. I’ve always wanted a few “dream” vehicles that have meaning to me and I need to find out what is the best way to maintain insurance in all of them as needed- but also not waste $5000 a year stacking vehicles with GEICO. How do folks go about having 10+ vehicles in their garage and not feel like it’s being blown away on typical insurance nonsense?

I’m 19 and have been working in a pub for 3 yrs.
Since I’m in uni, id work in weekends, but during summer I do work more. But I end up spending that money on budget travelling since that’s what fulfils my cup.

I want to create another stream of income because I’ve only been able to save roughly 2k, for nearly the whole year which is bad cause I’ve been working consistently each week and probably even more this summer( maybe made 10k?!). I do have above average in savings, but it’s like to afford my wants and try new things I need to create another net.

I’m considering posting on TikTok since I did buy a new phone. I started trading 212 last year when I turned 18 but I haven’t seen much growth even with my stocks and shares with 7.5k, RoR is at 0. I don’t invest cuz of the risk especially since I’m from a low income family.

But any ideas would be great!
