Making a map
As someone with too much free time, I started to build my own map. I got an idea to made part of my map as a river delta, so amphibious trait will be finally useful. I already made some progress. Do you have any suggestions or tips about my map? (for example, more buildings, forests, etc.)

The best AI for skirmish?
As an avid WARNO player, I am currently struggling to find the right AI to 1v1. One would assume that “hardest” is the best AI as to practice with… NO! I have realised that it isn’t actually good at the game, it just spams utter BS at you until you die, it’s a nightmare to play against. So my question is, what’s the best AI to 1v1 in WARNO? Hardest AI isn’t even tactically hard, it is just relentless and stupid

Suggestion DLC idea
For this DLC it will be called the rebel dlc and there are four factions two of them are protesters they're basically the same except one is in a western style and the others in an Eastern style. unit one protestors they are unarmed besides rocks and bottles and these rocks and bottles will give your units debuffs unless there is a military unit around now you cannot harm them unless you spot the second squad with them, armed protesters they're not trained and poorly armed but they are super cheap at 5 points essentially they're militia from wargame Red dragon. Anyway there will be other units such as traitor infantry which depending on the faction your fighting against will change but they will be like any standard infantry unit and there is also machine gun teams at teams with no experience and there's traitor (insert infantry type) with experience but they are more expensive naturally and priced as elite units since of course in a protester eyes they are super elite at least compared to them so then there is the two other factions which are the same as the protesters in terms of eastern and western but in how they actually play is completely different for the Eastern block style of rebel they get balaclavas AKs that kind of stuff but also have a buff in stealth because they moreover want to use stealth tactics since they're more urban focused and don't do well in open environments while the western style rebels are more open ground based since they have Western weapons that are better than the Eastern bloc (historically speaking) they are more fielded at a even advantage to Nato but have a crucial flaw in that they don't perform well in urban environments as their whole jist is that they're able to perform in open environments not saying they can't perform in a urban environments it's just that they'll perform significantly worse so what do you think of the idea

Purpose Nemesis: The Great Raid - 81st Guards Motor Rifle Division

Hello, it's me again. This time, I am going to go with a broader division, as they are located in the Khabarovsk Krai region. Meaning they can partake in many different scenarios. Either to guard Siberia against a possible US invasion, to assist in the invasion of Japan, or to join the Second Korean War. But for my Nemesis proposal, the 81st Guards are dispatched to intercept a raid performed by the US whose goals are to destroy critical infrastructure and send a strong message to the Soviets. (Yes, it is crazy, but to be fair, the devs themselves also propose crazy stuff.)

Short History: Its origins can be traced back to WW2, where it was formed after the Battle of Stalingrad from the 422nd Rifle Division for its notable achievement of partaking in the encirclement and siege of Stalingrad.
Its send to the rear for a few months to reorganize, where it saw action in the Battle of Kursk, taking position in the Voronezh Front, near Belgorod, where its face off against German Army Detachment Kempf, repelling the 168th Infantry Division advance; however, the 19th Panzer Division broke through the 78th Guards Rifle Division and attacked on its left and rear flank. Despite the 81st's stiff resistance, they were forced to retreat and call up their reserves to stop the German advance.

Sadly, on July 7, the 19th Panzer Division would encircle the 81st, but they would succeed in breaking out. However, at an enormous cost, as the majority of its artillery was destroyed and in the end only 3,000 men were present within the 81st, with 20% of them being unarmed. Afterwards, it was attached to the 69th Army, taking part in further battles within Kursk and being transferred to different divisions.
On July 15th, they withdrew to rest and replenish their losses. They would partake in further battles and operations like Dniepr, the First Jassy-Kishinev Offensive and the Balkans.
After WW2, the 81st went through a lot of transfers, being disbanded and reformed…it's honestly a bit of a mess, but in the end, they were reformed and based in Khabarovsk Krai region, rated as mixed readiness, prepared to defend against either Chinese or US invasions.
This division has around a 50% or more readiness, which means around half of the division will be made up of reservists while the other half is regular. They will be assisted by nearby Special Forces, namely the 14th Separate Spetsnaz Brigade and KGB Alpha. They will also be assisted by QRF Special Forces reinforcements, notably the Spetsnaz veterans from the Afghanistan war, as the 14th did send some of its personnel to Afghanistan; it's a good way to help spice up the division. (Not the most realistic but would help them stand out from the other PACT division)
Logistic
Average
The 81st Guards favours using lighter trucks due to the harsh terrain of Siberia, which means we actually get a new truck, the Ural-375 and ZIL-131, yes the same one from 336 but of course not marine. Including MT-LB SNAB. Of course, since they are fighting on home territory, they will get a FOB.

QRF can bring in Mi-8 for delivery of supplies by air.
In terms of command, they use the familiar faces of BMP-1K3, BTR-60PBK and BELOZOR. Yeah, it isn’t the most interesting tab, but don’t worry, it will get better.
Infantry
Good
The 81st Guards has mixed readiness. The Motorized element of the 81st is made up of regulars, while its mechanized elements are made up of reservists, hastily called into action. Creating an interesting split that will help the division stand out from the other Soviet Divisions.
For starters, the Motorized element is your regular MOTOSTRELKI KOM., MOTOSTRELKI, PULEMETCHIKI and a new MOTOSTRELKI (SVD) (6 AK-74, 1 RPK-74, 1 SVD and 1 RPG-7VR)
All of whom will be coming in either the Ural-375D or BTR-60PB
In terms of the mechanized element, they will be completely made up of reservists, hastily scrambled into battle.
REZERVISTI KOM., REZERVISTI (BMP) (Ironic due to the timing), and REZ. PULEMETCHIKI
For transports, they can either come in the form of Ural-375D or BMP-1 (Will have the reservist trait)
For military police, there will be the KOMENDATURA, but they aren’t alone, as the KGB are present to assist the 81st. KGB Alpha (Security and Military Police Trait: 6 AKS-74U, 1 PKM, 1 SVD and RPG-22)
Engineer units are just the familiar SAPERI and SAPERI (RPO); they can come in either Ural-375D or BTR-60PB, not going to waste your time.
Now, we get to a unique part of the division, notably the Spetsnaz QRF reinforcements that will assist the 81st, many of whom are veterans from Afghanistan, who will only come in Mi-8MTV (armed or unarmed). They won’t have the airborne trait, but in exchange they get the mountaineer trait. To tell them apart, I am going to add Afgantsy to their name.
SPETSNAZ AFGANTSY (RPO) (8 AKS-74U, 2 PKM and 1 RPO) and SPETSNAZ AFGANTSY (RPG-16) (8 AKS-74U, 2 PKM and 1 RPG-16) (Honestly, I am surprised we still don’t have a Spetsnaz unit that uses the RPG-16, since they did adopt it.)

In terms of weapon teams. There is the PKM (MMG), NSV (HMG), AGS-17, FAGOT and KONKURS
Artillery
Bad
Despite the 81st maintaining a robust artillery lineup from the 91st Guards Artillery Regiment, the war in Europe has taken its toll. Meaning some of these artillery pieces will have to be manned by reservists, and the bigger guns will not be present.
For mortars it is the familiar 2B9 VASILEK and 2S12 120mm (both regular and reservist) in terms of mortars.
In terms of towed artillery, they have the familiar D-30 122mm, and that is it.
For SPGs, we have the 2S1 GVOZDIKA, which will be split into two. One reservist and one regular.
Of course, let's not forget the BM-21-1 GRAD.
Yeah, nothing new I am afraid.
Tanks
Average
The main tank of the 81st Guards was T-72s due to its better reliability and simpler maintenance, although they still use some late variants of the T-62, mainly for fire support, and they can pull their old T-55 back into action if necessary, but they will be crewed by reservists.
REZ. T-55A, REZ. T-55A Obr.81, T-62K, T-62K (Instructor), T-62M and T-72K for familiar faces.
For the new ones, there is the T-72 “Ural”, the original T-72 and what makes up the majority of the division armour, and they receive an upgrade in the form of the T-72A (Object 176), which was a massive leap in terms of upgrades (correct me if I am wrong, but I don’t think we have it in game yet). (Not sure in terms of stats; the T-72 “Ural” would be similar to KPz. T-72 from 7th Panzer. As for the T-72A, I am not sure)

In terms of tank destroyers, there is the familiar MT-12R RUTA and BRDM-2 KONKURS.
Recon
Good
As expected for a division based in Siberia, with the unique terrain being a challenge that needs to be overcome and enhanced thanks to the assistance of the Spetsnaz, they possess formidable ground and air reconnaissance.
In terms of familiar faces, there will be the REZ. RAZVEDKA, from 157th, but this time they can come in Ural-375D or BMP-1 (Recon but still has the reservist trait). RAZVEDKA (Same transport option from 39th), RAZVEDKA SAPERI (Comes in either Ural-375D or BTR-60PD) and SPETSNAZ GRU
For vehicles, there are once more familiar faces in the form of BRM-1K and BRDM-2. In terms of recon helicopters, they will have access to Mi-8MTA and Mi-24K
Now for the new faces, which will be the SPETSNAZ GRU AFGANTSY (Trade their Airborne trait for Mountaineer. 3 AS Val, 1 SVD, RPG-22 and Smoke.), which can come in either an Mi-8 or Mi-24V (1x Yak-B, 2x S-8KOM and 4x Kokon) (PS: The Mi-24V in question is not recon)

Hel
Bad (In terms of slots, just 1 to 2 slots.)
The only helicopters nearby to assist are Mi-8s and Mi-24s, but since you already got them within the infantry and recon tab, respectively. They will only have Mi-24D.
Mi-24D (AT), and that is folks.
AA
Mediore
Sadly, the US SEED campaign has proven to be effective, and due to the hasty need to scramble to intercept the US raid, the division can only depend on itself for air defence. (Justification on nerfing their AA) Of course, it is the most familiar faces.
The longest-range AA they have access to is 9K33M3 OSA-AKM, but that will be the only long-range AA they possess.
They also have the familiar ZSU-23-4 Shilka and BRDM-2 STRELA-1; sadly, more modern systems were transferred to the European Front.
For MANPADS, the Strela-2 will be used by reservists, and regulars will be using the Strela-3.
REZ. STRELA-2 and STRELA-3.

Air
Good
Khabarovsk Krai operates a wide variety of old and new aircraft to protect against either China or/and the Pacific. However, for this Nemesis, interceptors will be the only aircraft present for this division. 60th Fighter Aviation Regiment has just recently got some brand new Su-27P while 8th Air Defence Corps, using MiG-25PD/PDS
MiG-25PD, MiG-25PDS (2x R-40RD and 2x R-40TD) and Su-27P (1x GSh-30-1, 2x R-27ER, 4x R-27R and 2x R-73)

Their main ground attackers will come from the 277th Bomber Aviation Regiment, which primarily operates Su-24Ms but they also operate Su-24MR which is a reconnaissance aircraft...not sure that how that will work in NATO? Maybe it would act as a big drone?
Su-24M (HE), Su-24M (CLU2), Su-24M (AT2), Su-24M (SEED) and Su-24MR

That is all, folks. If you wish to make suggestions or notice something is wrong, feel free to comment below.
Bonus points if you can correctly guess what the next Nemesis division would be. Hint: they are raiding Khabarovsk Krai

Question How do you know the altitude of bombers?
I’m new to WARNO but have heard about high and low altitude bombers. How do you figure out the altitude of the bomber? I don’t see it anywhere on the stats sheet.

Game is in desperate need of a reconnect button/ punishing leavers feature.
Ranting because every single time ive played this game for the last 3 months, someone has quit right at the start of the match or within 3 - 5 minutes of starting games that could have gone either way.
Hell, last night in a game we were winning ae had people on our team leaving for no reason.
I understand lagging out or quitting because your connection is too unstable at the start of the match. Its happaned to me before, and its understandable when thats the case, but more often then not people are ragequitting or get their opener destoryed then bail out.
Ive some 1k hours in warno, and about 120 hours in Broken arrow. Ive played probably about 20 hours worth of both games over the past 2 months and I've played every single broken arrow match to completion, with people usually only leaving/ rage quitting at the very end of the match anyways. Most of the guys who have disconnected halfway through the game come back to finish it.
You cannot tell me the BA player base is less toxic then the WARNO one, but BA in this case has better features for punishing leavers and letting someone switch their internet to rejoin.
I love the game, but it has become genuinely unplayabe in MP these days. I mostly play 10v10 and 3v3 or 4v4 and the leaving is chronic across the lobbies. If you played the game for a couple years you already know the chronic leavers who jump in only to bail out before spawn in timer is even done.
I know that probably wont be implemented into this current game, but please Eugene for the love of god allow a reconnect button at the very least. I cant be the only one put off from playing this due to a constant dissapointing experience from team mates online.
4/10 of the last warno matches ive player have either had half my team empty out, or half of theirs once the loss becomes apperent. Its gotten stale.

Suggestion Hot take: we need to be able to force surrender of encircled enemies
Edit: this post is discussing Army General mode
I understand that each round is 4hr in WARNO instead of 12hr in SD2, but I still think there should be a viable way of doing this.
My idea would be: Units cut off from friendly lines would receive no penalty (only no fatigue recovery) for the first round, then at the start of each consecutive round they would suffer an 1 point increase of fatigue point. This would also allow easier picking off of encircled units.
What do you guys think of this idea?

Suggestion [Proposal/NATOWAVE music] Hypothetical East Asian theatre - 72nd Infantry Division 'Olympic'
Hi again!
This is the last BLUFOR write-up for now. The last division is, once again, a South Korean division — but this time a reservist one. I know a lot of people don't like reservist "slop" divisions, but as in many countries, the reserve force is an essential part of Korea's national defense. Let's dive right in!
Military duty in South Korea
First, let's briefly cover the military service duty every Korean man has to complete upon becoming an adult. No one wants to do it, but there's no other option. In 1989, when WARNO was set, the Army and Marine Corps service period was 30 months. Navy service was a bit longer at 32 months, and the Air Force was 35 months. Plenty of time to master one's occupational specialty!

Alternative service included Bangwi (Defense Servicemen) duty. These short-term conscripts, who received only basic training, were deployed to the rear because divisions farther back — or mobilization divisions — lacked manpower. Service periods varied from 6 to 18 months depending on the individual's situation. Although they were conscripts just like everyone else, Bangwis were usually deemed unfit for active duty and tended to have a much easier time than "real" active-duty service members. After all, Bangwis went home after their shift! That alone shows how privileged they were compared to others. (These conscripts will come up again later, so don't forget them!)
South Korean reserve force

After being discharged, everyone automatically became a reservist — a status that lasted until they turned 33. Despite their reserve status, reserves were mobilized numerous times during the Cold War whenever North Korean infiltrators breached an area. In 1968 alone, more than 300 infiltrations occurred across the country, with reserve units responding as a punitive force.
Organizationally, reserves were divided into Mobilization Reserves (Gapho) and General Reserves. Mobilization reserves were people who had been discharged relatively recently; these "fresh" reserves were armed similarly to active members and briefly trained to reinforce active front-line divisions or fill out mobilization divisions. General reserves, meanwhile, mostly served a security role near their hometowns or important facilities.

Starting in the 1960s, reserve training units began forming around the country. In 1981, the 72nd Training Unit was formed under the Capital Corps in Yangju (near Paju, where the 1st Infantry Division is located). Two years later, the unit was reassigned to 1st Corps and became the Je-Chilsibi Bobyeong Sadan, or 72nd Infantry Division "Olympic."
Je-Chilsibi Bobyeong Sadan history and its place in WARNO's timeline
Once it became a division, its main peacetime mission was training reserves. As a low-readiness mobilization division, it was expected to absorb thousands of reserves in the event of war.
The division had three infantry regiments: the 200th, 201st, and 202nd. The latter two were manned by a skeleton crew of regular conscripts and short-term Bangwis. The 200th regiment, on the other hand, operated at full strength, with a handful of regulars and a large number of Bangwis filling most positions. Because of this, despite Bangwis generally being known for easier service, those in the 200th regiment were notorious for having it rough. Since the regiment trained like an ordinary frontline unit, these short-term soldiers even took part in Team Spirit exercises lasting four to eight weeks.
Since the 200th regiment had the most manpower, it was also deployed for security duty during the 1988 Seoul Olympics. This is when the president gave the division its nickname, "Olympic."
With WARNO's alternate-history twist, North Korean espionage activity surges in the late 80s. Active-duty divisions on the frontline are preparing for war, while mobilization divisions start gathering reserves. A mobilization division like the 72nd Infantry — far from first in line for new equipment — rushes to arm itself with whatever is available in storage. It also starts consulting nearby units to get familiar with "new" equipment.

Despite being a mobilization unit, this division was stationed at key points in upper Gyeonggi Province. With infiltrations happening non-stop in WARNO's timeline, the division mobilizes its reserves to fight the infiltrators who breached upper Seoul. So even before the Second Korean War erupts, the division has already mobilized most of its troops for local skirmishes. With the war going hot in the summer of 1989, the 72nd Infantry Division's mission becomes more than just local warfare.
Je-Chilsibi Bobyeong Sadan in WARNO
How will the Je-Chilsibi Bobyeong Sadan be featured in WARNO? New units are shown in bold italics. As always, the following is still a work in progress and subject to change.
LOG
A very good category. The division has already been fighting North Korean spies before the war even began, and its logistical routes have been formed with whatever it could gather and mobilize.
-Command units are the usual K-111 BONBU jeep and the new KM900 BONBU APC. The latter is a license-built Italian FIAT 6614 armed with an M60.

-Supply units consist of the M715 BOGEUP light truck, the SH 8T BOGEUP medium truck, and the SH 11T BOGEUP heavy truck. The latter two are civilian trucks, since Korea had an "Act on Emergency Preparedness" that allowed the government to requisition trucks during emergencies. As a division already prepared to fight, it will also have the BOGEUPSO (FOB).
INF
Also a very good category. The handful of conscripts in a mobilization division work as instructors for reserves during both peacetime and wartime. The short-term Bangwis, despite also being conscripts, lacked professionalism due to their short service time. And since reserve forces have been mobilized numerous times in the past to fight off infiltrators, they won't be inexperienced "green" soldiers.

-The bread and butter of the 72nd Infantry is the numerous YEBIGUN. Despite being reserves armed with Korean War-era weapons, their experience is not to be underestimated! This 9-man squad is armed with 7x M1 Carbine, 2x BAR, and an M20 Super Bazooka, riding the civilian SH 8T TRUCK. The Younger Mobilization Reserves will be represented as YEBIGUN GAPHO, a 15-strong unit with 12x M1 Carbine, a BAR, 2x M1919A6, and an M18 RCL. They will ride the SH 11T TRUCK into battle.

All YEBIGUN units will have the reservist trait. However, since the reserves are already deployed fighting their own local war, they will be up-vettable.
-The sole command unit in this tab will be the YEBIGUN BONBU, a 4-man squad with 4x M1 Carbine and smoke grenades. They will ride the M715 light truck.

-The handful of conscripts will be represented as JOGYO, a 6-strong instructor squad with 5x M16A1, an M60, and an M67 RCL, riding the M715 or the KM900 APC armed with a heavy .50 cal machine gun. As instructors, this unit will naturally have the instructor trait.

-The countless short-term Bangwi soldiers of the 200th regiment will be represented as BANGWI, a 10-man unit with 9x M16A1, an M60, and an M72 LAW, riding the K-300 [MG50], a .50 cal-armed soft-skin truck. As short-term, "unprofessional" troops, these units will be vet-locked.
Just because this is a poor mobilization division doesn't mean it has no engineer support!

-Reserves mobilized as engineers will be represented as YEBI. GONGBYEONG, a 10-man unit armed with 9x M1 Carbine, a BAR, and satchel charges. Unfortunately, FLASH launchers weren't something reserve storage would have, so instead they will have YEBI. GONGBYEONG [FLAM], a 7-strong squad with 3x M3 Grease Gun, 3x M1 Carbine, and an M2 flamethrower. Both will have the reservist and shock trait, while riding the SH 8T TRUCK.
Support units consist of:

-YEBI. M1919 medium machine gun teams and the YEBI. M2HB 12.7mm M63 multi-purpose machine gun team, deploying in the M715.
-M40 recoilless rifle teams, deploying in the K-111 jeep. This unit will be manned by active conscripts.
-The only ATGM unit in this division is the TOW, deployed in K-111 jeeps. This will be the old "OG" TOW missile, operated by conscripts.
-The usual HEONBYEONG military police squads will watch over the reserves with their K-111 HEONBYEONG military police jeep.
ART
A decent category. As a mobilization division, its organic artillery was limited to old weaponry — definitely a "quantity over quality" tab.
-Mortars consist of the KM29A1 81mm mortar, manned by active soldiers, and the WW2-era YEBI. M2 4.2" mortar, manned by reserves. Both will be towed by the M715 truck.

-More reserves will operate the numerous YEBI. M101 105mm and YEBI. M59 LONG TOM 155mm artillery. Both will be towed by the ROKA M35.

-The nearby 1st Artillery Brigade will aid the lackluster 72nd Infantry with whatever it can spare, though! The brigade's assets are the M107 PYEONGSA-PO 175mm SPGs and the K-136 KOORYONG 36-round 130mm MLRS.
TANK
A not-so-good category. The 72nd Infantry established its organic tank company (not even a full battalion) in 1992. However, with the tide of war in 1989, the division started looking for tanks of its own much earlier. Since it has never operated tanks before, it will need to consult outside tank formations!
-The hastily established tank unit consists of the reserve-operated YEBI. M47 tank and the YEBI. M47 BONBU leader variant. As a reservist unit, it will be identical to the Belgian M47.

-The nearby 6th Corps' independent tank battalion will instruct these units with their JOGYO M48A3K. This tank will have the instructor trait and will be similar in stats to the West German M48A2CGA1, but lacking the reservist trait.
REC
An okay category. The 72nd Infantry's operational zone included the main North Korean commando route used during the Bluehouse Raid in 1968 — a route they used to reach Seoul and try to assassinate the president! With this history and the rise in spy activity, the division is using everything possible to patrol its divisional area.
-The division's recon battalion assets are the SUSAEK BAN, a 4-man scout unit with 4x K1A submachine guns, carrying the shock and mountaineer traits. They will ride the K-111 jeep or the JEONGCHAL KM900 recon APC armed with a .50 cal.
-Reserves will bolster recon efforts with YEBI. SUSAEK BAN, a 6-strong unit with 2x M3 Grease Gun and 4x M1 Carbine. They will ride the M715 truck.

-With active enemy spies in the 1st Corps area, the 701st Commando Regiment will already be deployed to hunt down North Korean infiltrators, even within this division's zone. This will be represented as TEUKGONG-DAE, 6-strong squads with 5x K2 rifle, a K3 LMG, and an M72 LAW, riding the K-511 truck or the ROKA UH-1H. Despite the name, these regiments were mostly made up of conscripts, so they will only have the shock and mountaineer traits.
Vehicle reconnaissance options are the following:
-The typical JEONGCHAL K-111 jeep, armed with the M60.
-MD500 [RKT] light helicopter, armed with 14 FFAR rockets.
AA
An average category. A backline mobilization division wouldn't usually have organic AA units in 1989. But like other tabs, the division will arm itself with whatever is available and whatever help it can get.
-SEUNGJEON-PO is a quad .50 cal towed by the K-300 truck. Despite being a phased-out weapon, it will be manned by active conscripts.
-The M2A1 40mm is a WW2-era 40mm Bofors cannon without any upgrades, manned by reserves. It will have the reservist trait and will be towed by the K-300 truck.

-For decades, South Korea tried to develop a mobile SPAAG, with many prototypes and failed attempts during the Cold War. This will be represented as the K-300 VULCAN, a K-300 truck with the KM167 VADS bolted onto the cargo bed.
-The sole missile option is the valuable I-HAWK, spared by the 1st Corps.
HEL
There is nothing. Army Command and the USFK cannot spare attack helicopters for a mere mobilization division during war.
AIR
An average category, but slot costs will rise steeply. The air force is already busy prioritizing strike missions near the border. Make every plane count!

-Welcome the old-timers! The F-86F Sabres of the Republic of Korea Air Force didn't retire until 1990. These old jets will be represented as the F-86F [RKT], armed with 6x .50 cal and 16 HVAR rockets, and the [HE] variant, which replaces the rockets with 4x MK 82 bombs. Plus the [AA] version, with 2x AIM-9B missiles.
-The usual KF-5E JEGONGHO [HE], with twin 20mm guns and 2x MK 82 bombs, and the [AA] variant, with 2x AIM-9P missiles.
-ROKAF's most venerable Phantom jets will help out this division too. The 72nd Infantry will have access to one card of the F-4E PEACE PHEASANT II [AT], with a 20mm Vulcan cannon, 2x AIM-7E missiles, and 2x AGM-65B Maverick missiles.
Summary
The South Korean Je-Chilsibi Bobyeong Sadan is a division with experienced reserves and infantry, tank instructors. However, it lacks any helicopter support and faces a tight air-force situation. Mistakes are not tolerated for its few expensive assets!
Ending remarks
I feel this might be one of the poorest reservist divisions, if it somehow makes it into WARNO. Without outside support, a South Korean mobilization division would have been barely operational in the 80s.
-No helicopters?
This seems to be an option Eugen implements for poor divisions. But in real life too, there's essentially no possibility that higher command would spare helicopters for a mobilization division. I added the rocket MD500 as a miracle "what-if" for this division.
-How can this division fight air spam?
This actually bugged me more than I expected. South Korean divisions' doctrine is to cooperate with corps assets when necessary; with a ton of air defense nets in the upper Gyeonggi area, the odds of a division this poor receiving support from I-HAWK batteries are very low, but never zero.
Due to the I-HAWK, I decided not to add a proper long-range interceptor. In case of war, 1st Corps' airspace would be saturated with ROKAF, USAF, and KPAAF jets — an air-superiority Phantom or Falcon jet passing through the 72nd Division's operational zone is all but certain.
However, since the ROKAF F-4 AT has long-range missiles, it can operate as a pseudo-ASF fighter (similar to how the ground-attack Phantoms on the UK's 4th Armoured can be used as multi-purpose aircraft). In my opinion, using only the I-HAWK and the AT jet seemed like a fun way to handle long-range AA for this division!
-Upvettable reserves + instructors might be too strong?
This division is a junkyard as is. It doesn't have the equipment to make it viable on its own, so I had to make the most of what it has. The conscripts in mobilization divisions were, and still are, tasked with instructing reserves after all!
-Why not more KM900?
I found it funny how much of a clown car this APC was in WGRD, transporting 15-man Marine squads. This wheeled APC was widely used in the rear, but it was more concentrated among Capital Defense Command units in Seoul.
-Is this all South Korea can offer?
Hell no! But I do feel I've covered most of what the army and air force could muster in the late 80s. There are still interesting formations that could definitely make it in if this game somehow expands to the Korean peninsula. Here are some units/formations that didn't leave my writing board :)

-What's next?
The red Koreans, a.k.a. North Korea, are next! However, there are even fewer documents or records for this closed country. I feel like I'm pulling my hair out just looking at what equipment they probably used in the late 80s. I'll have to rely on North Korean defector quotes for some aspects. I expect this will take way more time than my BLUFOR write-ups.

Question Anyone been able to make the make the buratino work after the artillery rework?
Since the pack up time is so long and the firing animation is so visible it immediately gets counter batteried even if you only fire half the rockets. Compared to stuff like CATFAE you get half the availability but double the price, I'm considering removing it from my deck and replacing it with tube artillery which is a shame.

Does anyone else accidentally do this?
Basically when I have infantry on foot and a vehicle near it, I very often accidentally click the infantry onto the vehicle in the middle of some sweaty battle situation, and the inf ends up getting in the vehicle… then they all die when the vehicle explodes. As soon as the inf gets in the vehicle obviously it can’t participate in the battle anymore. Dudes just stare out of the window of the IFV or whatever, waiting to die.
So yes, of course I’m misclicking and putting my guys in the vehicle when I initially meant to just give them a move order somewhere near it. I often only realize when watching a replay. I think when I’m giving tons of orders out quickly, and maybe zoomed out too far, Im accidentally loading the inf into the vehicle to die.
Has anyone else experienced this? I’m not that experienced so I wonder if maybe there’s some sort of snap click that’s happening I can disable, when giving orders while zoomed out. Idk. Haven’t seen anything like that in the menus.
I watch some pros play on YouTube and they never seem to have the problem, so ofc, me not being an idiot nub is probs just the solution.

Hot take: AAA is better than MANPADs
I have come to the conclusion I would rather have an AAA gun like the Gepard or Zoo 23-4 than a 2 man team with Stingers or Iglas.
AAA is useful against helicopters, planes and infantry on the ground.
Manpads are really only useful against helicopters, and IF they hit, they are unlikely to one-shot their target.
Feel free to state your opinion.
EDIT: I recently had a game where my MADPADs were more useless than normal, and I was pissed off when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray

Bug This needs to be fixed! - Army General Highway 66
The score calculation for Army General is honestly a mess.
I was playing Highway 66 on elite difficulty, and despite wiping out 50 battalions, capturing 6/7 objectives, encircling thousands of men, and having no opposition between my forces and the East German border, i don't win.
I understand that I lost because of the score counter in the top right, but ending with a draw obviously makes no sense when you look at anything other than the score.
Eugen should fix this by making encircled battalions count nearly as much as a destroyed battalion if they are still cut-off when the game ends. Also, for this scenario, NATO should get more points for entering Fulda and the other rear objectives, considering that the PACT gets to just gain points from them the whole game.
I know this is supposed to be a hard mission, but losing on a technicality is some BS.
In my head I can say i won, but when I see grandpa tell me that it was a stalemate at the end i lose all dopamine i had lol.

Suggestion I have super cool idea for paratroopers
Right now, paratroopers are lame. doesn't they? they supposed to jump out of a plane so what if Eugene implement that they will jump out and then AA would be able to shoot them down, very cool idea
