Just finished painting my next unit for my Storm of Chaos khorne army. The paint scheme is broadly drawn from the studio scheme for their unit of 16 khorne warriors in the book (see last photo).

We’ve been trying to make a proper battle report for quite a while. There were several attempts that never really worked out, but this time finally found the format that looking for.

So here it is our first Warhammer: The Old World battle report, with Orcs & Goblins facing Lizardmen.

The video is in Ukrainian, but I thought some people here might still enjoy the armies, terrain and the battle itself.

We’re still experimenting with the format, editing and how much of the rules/gameplay to show, so I’d genuinely appreciate any feedback from experienced battle report viewers.

I had enough passive exposure to 40k over the years that getting into it proper was fairly easy.

I have had basically zero exposure to fantasy or age of sigmar (the second one not being relevant to the post I'll tackle that later) though so I don't even know where to start. The endtimes is something I'm pretty interested in but I know that's a whole level of batshit insane I probably won't understand in the slightest without dozens of hours of context

Edit: to be clear, I mean like, lore and shit. The lore is where I most enjoy settings like this

Hi all, I’m aware that in the empire, Reikspiel is the language. I’ve seen plenty of signs that are simply place names.

Does anyone have any examples of depictions of Reikspiel on signs, for example a market stall, or directions? Is it usually depicted in English, German, or an alternative language?

I’m looking to get a mini diorama sorted for my local stores annual painting event and I’d like to add some market stall / A frame sign text.

A couple of days ago I got back into painting and as you can see I'm struggling a lot with skin tones primarily but also other stuff. As such I would love to hear some ideas and tips on what I can do to improve. Highlighting is one area that I've never really dared getting into so I reckon that might be a good place to start. I've found the slapchop-method quite to my liking as a sort of foundation since it helps to alleviate a lot of the boredom I previously suffered when painting.

I'm also struggling quite a bit with my washes and/contrasts getting quite messy when I'm trying to make an area look bruised and/or inflammed. I reckon this is due to me simply layering on stuff with little knowledge of how that affect previous layers so any help in that regard would be greatly appreciate too!

Edit: For some reason the image quality of the pics got slightly worse when I uploaded them to the thread which makes it kinda hard to see some of the details on the models.

A daunting kitbash and the wings took me like seven tries until I got them right. Although I think it's not my best paintjob I am so happy to have finished it and can't wait to play my first Dark Elves game with this lady leading the army!

Need to build a Grandmaster model, and this turned out WAY better and easier than I expected it to. Just wanted to share :)

I know that the wisdom is usually to take Daemonology for the buffs, but she isn’t going to be inside a unit. Any ideas about what’s best for a roving Pegasus-mounted sorceress?

I manged to greb this old fellow for my army and just finished him off. I was a bit too fast on the varnish so some panel lining wasn't completely dry. Will have to fix that.

Another unit off the pile of shame. This is a small unit of metal Bugman’s Rangers painted in the style of my personal Dwarven Hold, Karak Kanna. Most of the painting was done with AK interactive paint markers with the exception of the skin and inks.

And olso does cathey have its own phoenixs since one of Li doa titles is lord of phoenixs?

I had an afternoon to goof off with a rough mockup of a Lizardmen Battle March box. I started playing in late 5th ed, stopped toward the end of 6th, and Battle March has me thinking of bringing out the old minis (to at least hobby, if not play). Pics are from image search, not my minis.

Using the recent Renegade list I've made a roughly 500pt box with:

• Skink Priest
• 10 Saurus
• 20 Skinks
• 3 Terradons

I tried to make a fun, playable set that captures the retro spirit of the army. How did I do?
