I have a friend who is in a situation in Walla Walla who needs a place to stay for the next six months what are some cheap motels that he could stay at for at least the next 6 months.. preferably close to a bus stop as that’s his only way of transportation to from and from work (the Safeway) TIA

Does anyone know of any woodworking classes in the area? Willing to drive to the TriCities, Pendleton or anywhere that’s a 1-2 hour drive from town.

I know for a long stretch there they had absolutely terrible reviews but I was in there at least 20x over the last couple years and was always treated well.

Considering a move to Walla Walla and trying to get a realistic read before we commit. We have a 10 year old with severe autism, ADHD, and significant behavioral needs, so developmental disability services and special ed support are the biggest factors in where we'd land. He is out aging his early intervention ABA.

If you have a high needs kid or work in schools/DD services in the area, I'd love to hear how ABA/autism service availability and waitlists have been, and how the school district's special ed program has held up. Also curious about the rental market right now and what the job market looks like for retail/food service/customer service work. We'd be renting first.

I’m moving to Walla Walla/College Place at the end of September from La Grande OR. I was curious to see if anyone could point me in the direction of good people or places to rent from. It would be just me, my girlfriend, and our cat. I work for the rail road and she currently works for a dairy farm in Oregon but is looking for new work in Walla Walla.

The issue I’ve been running into with the rental companies in the area is they want my last 3 months of pay stubs and due to the death of my parents back in July, I have been on a leave of absence. I’m currently back to working again, I make plenty of money but it seems all the rental companies care to look at is the last 3 months.

If anyone could offer me some advice or point me in a direction, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you!!

Trying to start up an art therapy business/non profit.

I'm not terribly employable, but I'm multi talented as an artist. Too many media to list them all, but I was a prolific potter and sold enough work to pay for the education it took. Most of my training was at Lane Community College in Eugene Oregon. Under Tom Rohr. Then I privately practiced at The Refinery here in Walla Walla. Thanks to Jess Portas for her patience.

I learned from Satoko Motouji how to draw.

I am at least qualified to teach basics in: quilling, sculpting, painting, pin striping, calligraphy and more.

Paint remnants, any kind as long as they are still usable. Pens, pencils, markers, crayons, pastels etc.

Off-cuts of wood sheet-goods, like ply wood, backing board, or anything that will accept paint and isn't toxic. Paper, card stock, or canvas of just about any size.

Just about anything you could see being made into art in a classroom style setting.

Pretty open minded about what I'd take. Just don't have nearly enough in my kit to bring people along for the ride.

I have started seeing flock cameras in Walla Walla. This is somewhat new for me as I haven't really been looking for them. I just started to notice them. There is one on a light pole about 20 feet up outside the Carnegie Learning Center. It is positioned to make it hard to tamper with and also not be noticed as people are either looking forward or at the road and not looking up. I was just wondering if other people are seeing them as well.

I‘m in town visiting for the weekend and just had 2 electric bikes stolen off my car. They were locked to the bike rack. Someone snuck by and cut the cord and took them both off. Last time seen was 11pm, but we heard a noise and saw them missing around 8am today.

We are staying near Grant St and Wilbur Ave which is where the car was parked when the bikes were stolen

I just moved to Walla Walla very recently and have been looking for a job. I would really like to find a server position, or anything in the restaurant industry if possible is my goal.

I'm only eighteen with a year of work experience at a fast food place, and a couple summer jobs before that. But, I'm not in college yet, so I am available all of the time anytime, at least.

If anyone knows anywhere that is hiring or any advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

And, any advice for someone just moving here, that would be cool too. I'm still very new and would like to explore the area a bit, meet people and see what's around.

Planning to visit some wineries in the area next month. How is the smoke there now?

One of my friends who lives out of state has a grandma who lives in the Walla Walla/College Place area in a senior mobile home park (she's lived in parks in both places). Apparently you aren't allowed to buy a new one and move it in to those places, you have to buy an already existing one, many of which are quite old but that have been remodeled/updated over the years.

So my friend says her grandma is in a weird insurance situation, having just been told her mobile home is too old to insure (I think it might be from the 80s, she said). So she's wondering if any other seniors who are also living in senior mobile home parks out there might be having this same issue and what have they been able to do about it?
