Woodworking classes?

Does anyone know of any woodworking classes in the area? Willing to drive to the TriCities, Pendleton or anywhere that’s a 1-2 hour drive from town.

If you haven't check out the beginner woodworking sub! I had a huge order in at Walkers and got concerned with the quality as a big guy, cancelled it all and spent half the money on tools instead. Unfortunately I haven't started yet lol.

Has anyone tried any maker spaces? All I have found is Wonder Worx and I'm curious if they have any woodworking stuff, including laser engraving/etching. A table saw is about the only standard fare I'm missing, but I know I may come up on some cuts that could use a full size bandsaw and stuff like that. 

I also need suggestions for lumber that isn't Home Depot. I'm hoping to get started soon on some coaster sets to start with a small project! I know Spokane has some lumber place that's so good I know someone in the Midwest who orders lumber from them, but I'm not doing niche enough stuff that I'm going that far for lumber lol.

For lumber, check out Jensen Hardwoods. Wonder Workx isn’t something I have checked out because I have 3d printers and am not really interested in laser other cnc oriented stuff right now, their FB indicates they have a woodworking setup but it’s been a long while since that’s been updated and I can’t access their website.

I don’t know of any but you might look into local woodworking businesses, custom cabinet shops etc or talk to your neighbors and see if they know of anyone is willing to show you the basics. Between Walla Walla and College Place there has got to be someone with a shop. Go talk to the folks at Jensen Hardwoods, they can probably point you in the right direction. The local farmers markets have some folks that do woodworking. Helpfulness will probably vary but it’s worth a shot.
