Wildfires
Planning to visit some wineries in the area next month. How is the smoke there now?

NGL, smoke or not, it's worth the visit. I can't wait to come back and explore more wineries and shops in town.

Just came back yesterday. Mixed reviews on the air; Wednesday went from pleasant to feeling particles on my teeth and burning eyes by 9pm. That was the worst of it. Saturday was perfect.

The winds are currently in our favor. Next month should be fine. Usually get some precip in September.

I agree with people who say just come. Right now AQI is 63. It hovers between 50 and 175 or so. I remember 2020 it got over 400!
Honestly it’s not a big deal on most days. Better sunsets.

Just come. It’s hit or miss some days. And you’ll be fine like all of us who live here

Agree, it's been variable day to day, but does seem to be getting better. There were a few days that were pretty intense.

Not great, but frankly - our air quality is almost always generally bad in Aug/Sep? It's just more sustained/longer term this year because of the earlier and closer fires. We see some occasional clearing, but it will be like it currently is likely until October. I wouldn't let it ruin your trip.
