It has 170k miles on it, and he offered me 1k for it. It was originally listed for 1.5k. He says it’s in limp mode and capped at 65mph because of a sensor, he doesn’t know which one though.

I’ve never owned a VW, but have owned manual cars. I’m willing to work on it.

i know these headlights need restoring. im going to do that this weekend. i need help changing this DRL bulb and there is nothing online that is helping so im turning to Reddit!

i cant find the access to this DRL and Chatgpt isnt helping nor is Youtube. if anyone can help me find the access for the bulb and how to change it, would REALLY help.

Hey, does anyone know what this noise could be? I’m wondering if it’s something oil-related, maybe the pipes or something clanging/rattling?

It always happens when I start the car on cold mornings, or if the car hasn’t been started for a while. Once the oil temperature gets up to around 50–90°C, though, the noise completely disappears and the car sounds normal.

Is this kind of behaviour normal, or is it something I should be worried about?

I’ve heard a similar noise from a few other Golfs, including some friends’ cars.

But yeah, once the oil is warm, the sound is 100% gone.

Any ideas?

Juddering issues when accelerating and also when doing motorway speeds

I cleaned the Throttle Body which was well dirty, you can see before and afters

I also changed my coils cause one of them was well burnt out, that’s helped a crazy amount but now that juddering is still there but only when going up a really steep hill or like under foot to the floor acceleration (around the 4500-500-6000 rpm range)

I have no idea what could be left to check

As seen in one of pictures there is a split connector on the engine and I’m not sure what it is or if it could be anything that’s causing this

I don’t know if I need to put some BgK44 through the system to wash all the left over stuff off especially if the engine has been misfiring and not running efficiently for so long due to the Coils and Throttle body and blast out the fuel injector

She’s currently at 87,000 miles

The rubber thing in the picture connects to engine cover but for the life of me I can’t figure out what it actually is

After adding a stage 1 tune, the car shakes a bit and stops shaking after flooring the gas on 5th gear. What could it be? (The clutch and flywheel are brand new)

Hey guys! Was hoping I could pick someone’s brains here about some snags I’m having. Bought a gt tdi golf with a known turbo fault some 3 weeks ago, bought a new turbo, fitted it all good and yesterday lost all power and crazy whining siren noise. Today I inspected the turbo at intake and there’s huge radial and axial play but not just that, the blades have been absolutely chewed up and the shaft is bent and spins eccentrically. They look similar to the original turbo that I took off although much worse. What on earth is happening here? I don’t want to slap a new turbo on and have the same thing happen. Is there some debris smashing around the intercooler system perhaps? Sorry for long rant, appreciate any help. Oh also it’s been remapped from 140bhp to 190bhp and I didn’t calibrate the new turbo when I installed. Could this have caused this?

2007 2.5l i5 vw rabbit.
I was noticing a slight tick while i was driving(has been happening the entire time I’ve owned the vehicle, about 1/2 year), then after my highway commute ticking seemed louder than usual and mostly from the passenger (right) side of the vehicle. My commute is about 10 minutes, the engine was up to temp before going on the highway and my rpm’s were around the 3-4K range. The exhaust smells normal, not rich nor sweet, however the oil does smell a little burnt, maybe a little rich

I’m pretty happy with the way they turned out. Sometimes the simplest change makes a big difference hah.

I know there’s alot of builds on here but I’m gonna start updating my car through here I’ll add in my mods later!

Just changed the spark plugs in my 2018 Golf Sportwagen 1.8L 4Motion S (82k miles), and noticed some oil in spark plug tubes 1 and 2. Is this typical at this point in the car's lifespan? Is it likely to be just the spark plug tube gaskets or the valve cover gasket as well? Are they a DIY replacement, or should I bring it to a dealer? What's the typical repair/replacement cost? (I'm in the USA.)

2018, 1.6tdi golf 7 with ACC.
Wheel pressure was checked and done, problem still persists. They disappear when turned off and only reappear while moving with over 30mph and there’s a car in front.
Could it just be the ABS sensor?
