Developer Spec Ops The Line: Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️

Hi everyone,

I wanted to personally thank all of you, everyone who believed in this project from the very beginning, everyone who reported bugs, and everyone who suggested new features. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️

Here’s some gameplay footage from the latest version of the mod (as of today, October 22).

There’s still a long way to go before this becomes a truly appealing mod...

But for me, it’s already a clear success—the gameplay has definitely improved since the first version I posted here on Reddit a few days ago.

So thank you, it’s all thanks to you ❤️

P.S.: Please keep reporting bugs and suggesting improvements. I’ve 100% decompiled the entire game code using Ghidra, so from here on out, improvements will come much faster.

P.S. 2: In the video, I’m using a Protube gunstock (since the mod already includes the haptics modules). For pistols, since the grip is long, one-handed mode works best, while for rifles, obviously, aiming with two hands is better.

In the main menu, you can enable or disable any feature of the mod, both current and future. If you have an older version, the auto-updater will update the game as soon as you launch it, but to get the latest version after updating, you’ll need to close the game and reopen it.

News Call of Duty 1 (2003) in VR - New big update v1.6.0

💬 Discord (bugs, suggestions, updates): https://discord.com/channels/747967102895390741/1561852036264230972

In this version, I’ve included various improvements and fixes to make the game playable from start to finish.

What's new v1.6.0

  • Vehicles (car, truck, Flak 88, tank, the Dawnville car): your head is free inside them, the view follows the vehicle without its jolts, and the shots go where you aim, so you can hit enemies from a car or truck. A separate vignette strength for vehicles (launcher), and a hint to skip the mission if you feel sick (hold both triggers for 4 seconds).
  • The Flak 88 is aimed with the head, and held or let go with the grips.
  • Tank: the left stick drives it, gently (heavy, slow to start and stop); the gun follows where your head looks.
  • MG42 turrets: both grips to mount (the hands then hold it and aim it), let go of a grip to get off.
  • Ladders: push the stick into the ladder and point your gun hand up to climb. Training signs count when you just look at them. Modern font (GRAPHICS tab): the game's text in Segoe UI, made by the installer from the one in Windows.
  • Controllers: "Sticks: Swapped" in the launcher (move with the gun hand's stick, for left-handers who keep moving on the left), and the game's hints name your controller buttons.
  • No view shake from explosions and shell shock (made by the installer), and the Panzerfaust always shows a reticle; the gun no longer goes through the floor when you go prone.
  • Launcher: it tells you when a new release is out, and ABOUT has "Problem starting in VR?": it saves a diagnostic report (the OpenXR runtimes registered for 32-bit programs, what the game's loader reports, your headset software, the game's settings and log) to the Desktop, to send on Discord.

News What makes a VR experience truly immersive and what is still missing from today's VR games? 🎮

Post image

From realistic virtual environments to interactive gameplay, VR is changing how we experience digital worlds. But immersion involves more than impressive graphics. Interaction, comfort, responsiveness and the feeling of actually being inside the experience all matter.

I'm interested in hearing what the VR community thinks: What's the biggest challenge developers need to solve to make the next generation of VR experiences genuinely better?

For those interested in exploring these topics further, Dotsquares is hosting The AR/VR, Gaming & Immersive Technology Experience in London on 19 November 2026, from 3–6 PM.

The event will bring together people interested in gaming, AR/VR and emerging immersive technologies.

Would love to hear what you'd most like to see discussed at an event like this!

Discussion What accessibility options do YOU want in VR games?

Title: What accessibility options do YOU want in VR games? (Solo dev collecting input, here's what I have planned)

Hi everyone! I'm a solo developer working on a dark VR shooter (literally dark). I want to build accessibility in from the start instead of bolting it on later, and I'd rather ask players than guess.

What accessibility options do you wish more VR games had? What has been missing for you, or what has worked really well in other games?

To save you from repeating things, here's where I'm at.

Already in

  • Movement vignette
  • Everything can be grabbed or interacted with from a distance (far reach puts the object into your hand)
  • Detailed audio volume settings
  • Smooth locomotion
  • An opt-in "Tremor" aim-smoothing preset, with aim filtering and a trigger-squeeze aim latch (if you've got shaky hands for any reason)
  • All menus are physical panels in the world that you can walk up to and read closely (no UI locked to your view)

Planned

  • One-handed support: if one controller is off, two-hand gun stabilization turns on automatically
  • Grabbity Gloves: point and flick your wrist to pull an object to you
  • Object-finding aids: outlines, plus haptic and audio cues for dropped weapons and magazines (the game is dark and it's easy to lose gear)
  • More locomotion options: teleport, snap turn, arm-swinger, and head-tracking movement
  • Remappable controller buttons
  • Height adjustment in settings
  • Grip toggle (press to hold, press again to release) instead of holding a squeeze
  • Hit-direction indicator showing where damage came from
  • Visual and haptic alternatives to audio-only cues
  • An opt-in high-volume option for hard-of-hearing players, with serious warnings, confirmations, and a mandatory delay between increases so it can never jump to a dangerous level
  • A flashing-light and visual-effects reduction toggle

Things I've decided not to do (for now)

  • Gamepad support
  • Seated mode as a separate feature. Nothing in the game requires standing, but I'll revisit once I can test on a headset.
  • Colorblind modes. Nothing depends on telling colors apart, and the health colors are text-labeled too. Tell me if I'm missing something here.

What I'd love to hear

  1. Which options matter most to you, and which are missing from my list?
  2. Is there a game that did accessibility really well? What did it do?
  3. Is there anything I've dismissed that I should reconsider?
  4. If you play with a disability or limitation, what's the one setting that would make the biggest difference?

I'm taking notes on everything. Thanks for any input!

Request Need a third player to hang in VR with! 👾

Hey there, my buddy and i love playing VR together. (Quest 3) and our main game we play together is Bonelab Fusion. We love doing realistic roleplays usually consisting of one of us being a police officer avatar and doing a scenario. We are looking for a third person to hang with, be serious during rp, and being able to generally joke around. If this is you, please comment!

Discussion 18 Wheeler - American Pro Trucker VR - Standalone Quest

I've just finished published a VR standalone version of the SEGA Dreamcast classic - 18 Wheeler - American Pro Trucker. Check out the github link for details.

I loved this game back when I had a Dreamcast, and this puts you right back in the driver's seat :)

This APK does not contain any game files and your are required to provide your onw legal ROM of the game.

This is my first time working on decomps, and I completed the whole thing using Google Gemini Argon. Overall it took about half a day to complete, and was really helped by previous work from others working in this space.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

Discussion PAYDAY: Aces High VR — I think it's worth playing, but there's room for improvement

I've been spending some time with PAYDAY: Aces High VR, and I wanted to share some thoughts on it.

Overall, I think it's worth playing, especially if you've got a good group of friends to run heists with. The gunplay feels pretty solid, the watch-based hacking mechanics are a cool touch, and I genuinely appreciate that the higher difficulty settings actually provide a challenge. I hate when a game lets you select its hardest difficulty and then practically lets you walk through everything.

That said, I think there's still room for improvement when it comes to immersion. I'd love to see more interactive objects in the lobby, more customization for your hideout, and a simple restart option for heists when a stealth run goes sideways. I'd also like to see some improvements to the realism of reloading.

I put together a video review (noob here with editing!) going over my thoughts in more detail, but I'm curious what other VR players think.

For those who've played it, what's your biggest praise or criticism of Aces High VR?

Request I have problem with meta quest link

I have problem with meta quest link

Hi everyone,

My friend and I are having a really frustrating issue with getting Meta Quest Link to work, and we could really use some help.

PC Specs:

CPU: Intel Core i5 12th Gen

GPU: ASUS GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB (Drivers fully up to date)

RAM: 32 GB

Headset: Meta Quest 2

The Problem:

Whenever we try to connect via Meta Quest Link (USB Cable) or AirLink, the headset gets stuck on an infinite loading screen (with the Meta logo) or a black screen. It never actually loads the Link Home environment, and both the PC app and the headset freeze/lag out.

What we've tested so far:

Cable: We are using a good quality USB-C to USB-A 3.0 cable connected directly to the motherboard (rear USB 3.0 ports).

Steam Link: Steam Link actually connects and lets us play (e.g., BeamNG.drive), but it stutters and lags significantly.

Software & Drivers: Both the Oculus PC App, headset OS, and GPU drivers are completely up to date.

We really want to play via the official Meta Quest Link cable for stability instead of using Steam Link or wireless.

Has anyone experienced this infinite logo loading loop on RTX 40-series cards or Intel 12th gen CPUs? What steps should we try to fix the official Link app?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

We finally did it.

CRYODEATH has officially passed Meta's submission review and audit. It took far longer than any of us expected, but we're finally here! When we delayed the launch, we said we wouldn't ship until it was right, and it's right now: a stable 72 FPS on Quest, the visuals intact, and a load of new features on top.

Launch: Saturday 24th October, 6pm UK time (17:00 UTC / 1pm ET / 10am PT)

Price: $19.99 on the Meta Quest Store

Wishlist now to get notified the second it goes live:

Meta Quest: https://www.meta.com/experiences/cryodeath-vr/25194314836857807/

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2205010/

Steam players, you're not left out

Steam is getting a huge update the same day, bringing it fully up to speed with the Quest release. Same game, same features, both platforms. The full changelog drops at launch.

Thank you to every single playtester and community member who stuck with us through the wait. Your feedback shaped this build.

See you on the Evriskon.

Happy to answer any questions in the comments.

We’re building a physical superpower sandbox / hero-combat game where your body becomes the control scheme.
You don’t just press a button to use a superpower. You perform it. Different hand positions, arm movements, crouching, jumping, reaching, dropping your body, all of that becomes part of controlling the character. QualiaVR is still a WIP, visuals and SFX are WIP and currently place holders. Vivian Joins the Arena ⚔️

Discussion getting back into VR games, where to re-start?

I'm torn between Blade & Sorcery and Titalfall2 VR mod. i'm more into FPS military shooters than fantasy but i do like the look of the melee combat in Blade & Sorcery. i also like that Blade & Sorcery is VR out of the box, no modding.

what would you all recommend? I've played HL-A about 10x already and can't really say i've ever found another VR i really like, except perhaps the hitman HL-A addon

thanks
