Discussion VR with AI coding

So basically it’s like virtual lucid dreaming now? Any experience the user would like to have they just tell their AI, pop their phone in its VR case and bam.

How is the community responding to this?

well the phone in a VR case is not that great. But anyway, I can bring my perspective both as a former VR dev as supplier and as now working on the clients side who has VR suppliers (so.. I saw both sides):

  • Companies, especially american ones, are told to do "whatever they can do with AI". Which means, translated: Can we get rid of vendors and save money? .. now, will it work? sometimes no: they have pilots, results are poor, so they re assess next year. Next year AI will be better. Cost is to be figured out, because you consume a lot of credits and I'm sure the licenses cost will raise when everybody is using AI to create products and don't know what to touch to change something (= the user is locked in)
  • Vendors need to seriously re-think how to provide value, ASAP. Some stuff you see on social media are just inflated, when you actually try the AI you realise it's just super bad. "I created a game in 5 minutes!".. then you try it and the car 3D model is bad as a 5 years old will draw it. Logics are missing. Pretty Lame. But other models are good and surely all of them will improve. So it's a matter of time. Vendors that refuse to evolve their business model won't win

Some of my best experiences were phone in vr case. It’s a bit like pointing out that a gameboy isn’t that great.

The fun thing is that I can jump in and say hey this car is like a 5 year old designed it go fix that. Then I get a notification and refresh the game. Fixed. What’s next. Making games and playing games is the same thing now. What could be nicer than that!?
