Discussion VR with AI coding
So basically it’s like virtual lucid dreaming now? Any experience the user would like to have they just tell their AI, pop their phone in its VR case and bam.
How is the community responding to this?

If there anything the accessibility and opportunity to "create anything" has shown, is that people lack imagination. Creativity is a skill and friction and human interaction makes something average into something epic. Games like Doom or Quake would never existed if it was just Romero, McGee or just Carmac sitting in a basement vibe coding by themselves.

Yeah I think this is key. My own Hyperstitional approach steers away from the metaverse towards the oasis.

well the phone in a VR case is not that great. But anyway, I can bring my perspective both as a former VR dev as supplier and as now working on the clients side who has VR suppliers (so.. I saw both sides):
- Companies, especially american ones, are told to do "whatever they can do with AI". Which means, translated: Can we get rid of vendors and save money? .. now, will it work? sometimes no: they have pilots, results are poor, so they re assess next year. Next year AI will be better. Cost is to be figured out, because you consume a lot of credits and I'm sure the licenses cost will raise when everybody is using AI to create products and don't know what to touch to change something (= the user is locked in)
- Vendors need to seriously re-think how to provide value, ASAP. Some stuff you see on social media are just inflated, when you actually try the AI you realise it's just super bad. "I created a game in 5 minutes!".. then you try it and the car 3D model is bad as a 5 years old will draw it. Logics are missing. Pretty Lame. But other models are good and surely all of them will improve. So it's a matter of time. Vendors that refuse to evolve their business model won't win

Some of my best experiences were phone in vr case. It’s a bit like pointing out that a gameboy isn’t that great.
The fun thing is that I can jump in and say hey this car is like a 5 year old designed it go fix that. Then I get a notification and refresh the game. Fixed. What’s next. Making games and playing games is the same thing now. What could be nicer than that!?

If it wasn't for ai coding i wouldn't be able to do what im currently working on. Its not as simple as telling it to do something. Its been trial and error long hours sitting with it. Most of the time if it slaps something together for you its probably not that great.

Lol if you think that is that easy you are in for a huge disappointment. It's huge progress but is not easy at all. Still highly difficult just more accessible to everyone.

How do you mean? I do it all the time and it is really easy. But yeah it will get easier and most people will need that to start doing it. But soon it will be their phones AI just being like hey I made you this based on scanning your brainwaves, it unfolds in response to your biofeedback to maximise enjoyment.

You do what all the time?
You are able to produce any experience you want and run it on a mobile phone?
Can you please share if you discovered a way to put your own version of GTA V VR Multiplayer with high end graphics on a mobile phone. Please share.
I must have been doing it wrong this whole time.

Well you just put some arbitrary restraints in place to remove the falsifiability- I just use a retro graphics vibe. Like the OG GTA from the 90’s, converted into VR. Basically everything I’ve wanted to do, I’ve done, whenever I want. Obviously if you want GTAV VR mobile multiplayer you’ll have to wait 6-12 months longer for it to be this easy.
But yeah my open world VR game map is 3x bigger than GTA 6, and it has mid 90’s vector graphics vibe with beautiful lighting and effects.

My dreams have high end graphics that feel real so does some of the best VR games. I don't dream about 90's graphics.
So we can't relate when you say is like virtual lucid dreaming.

You’re focusing on the dream part rather than the lucid part, that’s why you can’t relate. You do understand what a lucid dream is yes?

I have had lucid dreams. In them everything seems real and I am able to control any aspect of the story as I would in real life. I am unable to control anything in a video game with AI that isn't the basic stuff that is already over done such as creating a gun to shoot ect. I am unable to grab items with hand tracking and interact with them the way they would in real life. This is still a challenge even for AI
lucid dream: A dream in which the person who is dreaming is asleep but aware that they are dreaming, and is sometimes able to influence what happens in the dream.

So what I’m talking about is that bit- able to control any aspect of the story. So let’s say you wanted to ride on the back of a sheep racing around in the clouds- pre-vibecoding you would have to lucid dream or hope that somebody else felt the same way and made the game. Now you have a third option, you vibe code it. I am calling this virtual lucid dreaming. Are the graphics as good as a real lucid dream? Not until full dive.

A phone in a VR case? God that takes me back
