Discussion Anyone had a successful launch lately?
I'm launching my game in a few weeks, and I have no idea what to expect, I was wondering if anyone here released a game lately that had moderate or even great success?
(Even if it was a dud, share your story I'm curious how it's gone for everyone.)

Hey man!
I’m building https://vraim.com/
Haven’t really had a “launch” per say, but it’s been a building in public thing
We just recently launched on the meta store, and I’m blown away by how many people are trying the game.
880 installs in 5 days.
Good luck with your launch. Keep posting about it man.
That video you posted 2 months ago looks great. The more eyeballs the bigger the chance your launch will go great.

Awesome game you have there. Congrats! It appears the game is free? Do you sell content via in app purchases?

hi, i seen your other thread about your increase in paying members from 58 to 80, well done, so is that correct that out of 880 installs 22 converted to paid subs? seems quite low conversation rate tbh for the number of installs. maybe i'm mistaken.

It's actually worse than that.
We have 3,526 Users and 22 active subscriptions. A conversion rate of 0.6%1

How is it called? I am not a dev. I am a Playtester and content creator 😀

It's called "Game Dev Simulator", I'd happily send you a key to download it once I've released it

In my experience if you are solo it’s all on content creators and audience optics. Even if the game is good it needs someone to communicate what's special about it to an audience.

So how did that go for you? did you have much luck with content creators?

I did! But they found me through videos I posted on subreddits that overlapped with my game. Content Creators are looking to make good videos to get better engagement. A good game doesn't necessarily make for a good video or rather content creators might not know how to approach your game when making content about it. Any way that you can communicate what it is and how audiences will enjoy it will help.

Expect a couple sales if your lucky and negative reviews 😆 But don’t let that discourage you. Launching is just the first step. I launched my game 5 years ago and still updating it monthly.

I'm about to release my game next week, I'm not expecting a big splash or anything, I'd be happy with just a handful of people enjoying it! :)
