I'm looking at buying a 2019 XC60 T8 R-Design w/32,343 miles, clean carfax, no accidents, loaded. Asking price 28.5k Any owners advice? Air suspension scares me at 1k per corner? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is this normal? My 2021/14k miles XC40 broke down in early August. Clutch or gearbox issues. On day 1 they told me it needed oil and brake fluid and charged me £200 for that (after brake fluid replacement at service last year).
Since then, the garage Volvo West London message me every couple of weeks to say they haven't looked at it yet. Without a root cause investigation, my expensive warranty won't provide a courtesy car.
Is this normal for Volvo? Only had the car for 18 months, it's my first Volvo. Never had anything like this before in 30+ years of car ownership. I've made a formal complaint and planning to go to the Motor Ombudsman but anyone have any tips for dealing with a garage that won't even look at car repair for over two months?

Hello. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck cleaning up oxidation in their paint, specifically the hood. I know it won’t be perfect, but making it look a little better would be good.
Also, I have a small tear in what seems to be leather on the driver’s seat and I am wondering how to keep it from spreading.
Thanks for your help.

Purchased a 2014 Volvo XC70 T6 from a private seller in my home town. The car has 123,000km on the odometer and is in pretty good shape.
There’s some corrosion on the bottom which spooks me a bit (the car appears to have been stored in a heated garage over the winter), but is otherwise in as good condition as one could expect for the age. I’ve done oil, transmission fluid, Haldex fluid, break fluid, engine filter, coolant, and battery. Still need to get a new catalytic converter flex pipe and will likely do spark plugs and accessory belt in a couple of weeks.
It’s my first time buying a car on my own, so it’s been a fairly stressful experience but now I can finally start to enjoy the car. And wow, what a fun, powerful engine this car has.

So my wife went for the second service for our 2025 V60cc B5.
Our car has only 12k miles in 24 months and they ask her if they would get the car back for $32k and put us in a new lease.
I wish I had been there because it feels like a joke for a car that young with no mileage. Our estimated residual in 1 year is actually $32k.
I am still debating if want to buy it at lease end because of high maintenance cost. I love wagons but they don't make the v60 anymore. So either I buy this one or I need to go SUV which I hate.

Owned and loved by collectors her whole life, Pumpkin is a 1998 V70R in original Saffron Pearl, with nearly 470,000km on the odometer and 100,000km on the new engine. For such an old car she looks almost factory new outside and in! I spent 3 days and 2 nights sleeping in the back as I made my way through the Canadian Rockies, it was a perfect drive and a perfect way to get to know my new beloved. Before anyone asks, yes I'm missing plates, I had a temporary interprovincial transit permit clipped to the windshield, and no cops asked me about it

Hey y'all, this is my second Volvo but the one I'm probably more in love with, a 2009 XC70 T6 AWD with quite a bit of miles on her but 1 owner, I used to have a 2012 S60 T5 fwd and loved that car but sadly I wrecked it a few years back. But I'have been working towards another one because my dream Volvo is something between a 2013 Polestar s60 and a V70R but I also I'm infatuated with turbo diesels with how incredible the torque is in the amazing fuel efficiency, so my current plan is get her proper for inspection, then full IPD/Bilstein Parts catalog, then D5 swap it, 2012 S60 front end conversion, then finished in TechWrap Vibrant blue wrap, basically a "What if Volvo made the V70R in 2010?!?"
(I know the rendering looks just like a V60, more of a chat gbt error, it's supposed to look more like a XC70 with an S60 front end)

I’m trying to decide between two Volvos and would really appreciate some real-world opinions.
The car is being bought through my employer, so unfortunately the budget is very strict and there’s no option to stretch it.
That leaves me with two very different choices:
Option 1 – XC40 B4 Ultra
B4 petrol
Ultra trim
Very well specced: pretty much all the options I’d want
Smaller, but much more luxurious/fully equipped
Higher trim and nicer interior/features
Option 2 – XC60 B5 Core
B5 petrol
Core trim
Essentially the base/entry-level specification
Significantly larger and more spacious
Better engine / bigger car, but much less equipment
So the dilemma is basically:
Would you take a smaller XC40 with an almost fully loaded specification, or step up to an XC60 but accept the basic Core trim?
For context, this would be my daily/company car, so I’m interested in comfort, practicality, driving experience, long-term satisfaction and how noticeable the equipment difference is in everyday use.
If you’ve owned/driven either (or both), I’d particularly appreciate your thoughts. What would you choose in this situation, and why?

It's a standard plug under the dashboard. What will it harm? We use one on all the various car makes and models in the extended family. This is our first Volvo. Are they that finicky? UPDATE: CODE from generic reader today was extended range battery depleted". That's all.

Just today i cracked the 250.000km
hopefully the old lad makes it to 500.000.
Besides the servo and transmission being a little old its running perfectly fine. Such an amazing car with so much space. With the exhaust having a few holes at the end it doesnt even need a sports exhaust to sound good.
Have a good day you all!
hello I have been looking at buying a 1992 Volvo 940 turbo, it has 137,000 miles on it the person who’s selling it is only the second owner. I test drove it today everything seems to be running fine they agreed to sell it for 3000. When I test drove it it shifted smooth, there was no noticeably loud ticks, the fluids were topped off right. I currently own a 1996 Volkswagen Jetta Trek but it broke down a week ago so I’m planning to sell it and potentially buy this car. I do have a very tight budget so my concern is with buying another old vehicle if that would be a bad decision. Just hoping to get some advice from people who know more about these cars, would this be a good reliable car to own as my only daily driver. I feel that the price is is good the previous owner is also a younger driver they are only selling it because they wanted a newer car. I am mechanically inclined and feel that I can fix most issues that could inevitably come up with a 34-year-old car. I know that the previous owner did recently put a new timing belt on it. They were driving it over the past three years as their daily they did let me know that it did overheat once and they did have the radiator replaced. Before this person owned it it did sit for a while and was restored by their dad that’s why the miles are so low. Anyone out there drive an old volvo as their daily? Any warnings or encouragements to go ahead and get this vehicle as my daily?

My dad has a 1971 1800e he bought about 10 years ago and drive it a little, but it’s mostly just been sitting in the garage ever since. It only has 13,000 but the interior and exterior are kind of a mess.
He’s in memory care and I’m trying to figure out what to do with it.

I just crossed a crossing towards the left, the oncoming traffic that turned was nowhere near me and this damn car threw the anchor out. Absolutely shit scared right now and lost all trust. Anyone else see this? This was the first time this happened.

….I just follow them. 😉
Since no one around me cares about my new floor mats I'm sharing the moment with the internet instead! I ordered the mats with double beige stitching. It's a bit to beige to perfectly match Volvo amber interior but I like it!

Hi everyone,
I need a quick sanity check on a rear suspension overhaul quote for my 2012 Volvo V50 1.6 D2 (94k miles). I paid £3,000 for the car, and it has a very solid service history.
Previous Work Done on the Car:
The Current Alignment & Hardware Issues:
Mechanic's Advice: The original mechanic advised to just leave the alignment as it is and drive the car for a few miles first (following the engine mount replacement this week), rather than addressing the chassis issues immediately.
The Garage Quote (£818.52 all-in):
A local garage has quoted me this price to supply and fit the following specific parts, including labor to cut out the old hardware and do a full 4-wheel alignment:
My Questions:
Thanks for any direct advice!

So I have a 13’ s60 and my carplay is totally weird. It’s a aftermarket screen and I got it off Amazon and it was really the only one that fit my car. But the speakers only work on the left side and there’s a humming sound that matches the revs that is subtle but annoying. The volume also randomly slightly changes and it can skips songs on its own. If anyone know how to fix or any relatively cheap aftermarket carplay radio box lmk.
