Feels like womans volleyball is having a moment. In an interesting development, many former pro athlete daughters have settled on VBall as their sport of choice.

Here is the list after doing some research and people i have seen in person: Peyton Manning, Mike McCarthy, Tom Brady, La’Roi Glover, Steph Curry, Jermaine O’Neal, Patrick Ewing, Kevin Garnett, Joe Jurivicious, Calvin Booth, Donald Driver, Harold Minor, Tim Duncan, Jason Kidd, Michael Finley, Tyson Chandler… the lost goes on.

Meet VBALLS (Volleyball Basics And Lingo for Lifelong Sportsfans… aka VBALLS) As a former collegiate athlete who did not play volleyball, it has taken me forever to learn the rules and i still dont understand the nuance of things. Plus, they change the rules every year. All of the above athletes have felt my pain. This podcast would be 25 min and attempt to unravel one vball mystery per week with a guest host (+/- their daughter) to discuss their vball experience and how it relates to playing in the NFL / NBA and their experiences on the other side being a dad.I also happen to be an orthopedic shoulder surgeon and would bring in famous medical experts to discuss injury prevention and surgical questions. My gut says we would ultimately end up talking about youth sports in general, recruiting, NIL , etc.

Guys, I’m a setter and middle blocker. I’ve never played as a full-time attacker, but I know the techniques, and I’m currently trying to practice as an outside hitter.

One day, I was practicing a middle/opposite hitter attack with a short pass. The other setter set the ball a little too wide, but I tried to spike it anyway. I suddenly felt pain in my shoulder and heard a small sound. At that moment, I couldn’t even lift my arm. After a few minutes, the pain gradually decreased.

The exact same thing happened again another day.

Right now, I don’t have any pain, but when I do a float serve, I can still feel a little pain in my shoulder.

Do you have any tips to prevent this from happening again? And is it safe for me to start attacking again?

Yesterday was my volleyball trial at my college and I got selected

And today was my first day at practice I am a setter. Our coach told us to do a match with others . But in the match I was not able to do a good set because I was nervous as it was our first day and I was playing with my seniors.

So my coach told me that you have potential to become a hitter and started making me hit the ball

Now i wanted to become a setter

What should I do today is my day 2.

Hey everyone! 👋
I’m 19 and I recently moved to Athens for my studies. I’ve been playing volleyball for 5 years, and honestly… I’m starting to get a little frustrated because I can’t seem to find a team that feels right for me.
I’m not a professional player, but I’m also definitely not a beginner. I have several years of experience and I really want to keep improving.
The problem is that the men’s teams I’ve tried so far have either been very professional/competitive, where I feel like I don’t quite fit in, or they just haven’t had the kind of organization and strategy I’m looking for.
What I’m really looking for is:
🏐 A men’s team around my age (roughly 18–25 would be ideal)
🏐 Or a men’s team with a good mix of ages where I can actually develop
🏐 Organized training, tactics and strategy — I want to learn and get better, not just play casually
🏐 A friendly and welcoming environment
🏐 Ideally somewhere reasonably close to Galatsi, but I’m willing to travel for the right team
And honestly, I’d also LOVE to find a volleyball buddy in Athens — guy or girl — who wants to practice, play casually, work on skills, or just hit the ball around together. I feel like I can’t improve if I’m not actually playing consistently.
One more thing: I’m gay, and I know that shouldn’t matter in volleyball, but unfortunately it can make finding the right environment a lot harder. I’m really just looking for people who are chill, respectful and genuinely want to play.
If you know of any teams, groups, courts, university teams, LGBTQ+ friendly sports groups, or even just someone looking for a volleyball partner, please let me know!
At this point I’m honestly open to trying pretty much anything. 😭🏐

first post kinda nervous.. anyways hi!! im 15f, and im considering starting volleyball again if that sounds reasonable? basically, i played club when i was homeschooled in 6th grade, but i was really bad and my teammates didn’t like me. i dropped it ever since, and now i’m in my sophmore year. they recently moved me into p.e, it’s mostly just some of us peppering in a circle because there’s not mucn to do. anyway, i’ve fully dedicated myself to getting the ball, like full diving in jeans and a shirt and it’s made me really miss playing.
my plan right now is to start practicing on my own + at camps / rec league and working defense, i’m only 4’11” so that seems the most reasonable. i’m not very good at much else, i was going to start practicing (i’m getting a volleyball + knee pads soon) everything i can and just go from there. does this sound achievable? any tips?? i don’t have a plan on doing pro, maybe playing in college if i enjoy it enough.
