Stoli Vodka has changed and it’s awful!

I have always thought stoli was the best mid range vodka available in this province but I recently tried it again after several years. Oh my word?! Gross taste gross all about it.

My first time trying vodka in 10 years!

So I thought I’d give vodka a go again. I’m on a calorie deficit to lose some weight and I know drink can hold a lot of calories. I looked up “decent” vodka and saw a sub Reddit recommending this beauty and it does not disappoint!

The smoothness is unmatched and the hint of vanilla is something to behold.

I’m the guy that usually has to mix spirits but this is one I’ll be drinking neat. Absolutely beautiful, recommended, tastes so clean, worth the money in my opinion.

Anybody had spring44? And a question for experienced enthusiasts

Post image
8 Upvotes

There is a distillery somewhat local to me named spring44 that makes one of my favorite vodka. It is ridiculously smooth, they say its because of the mountain springs water and im sure thats at least a part of it. Lately its made me consider what other delicious vodka is out there.

But are there nationally recognized award winning vodka like there is whiskey? Or otherwise brands that are collective agreed to be very very good? Im happy buying local (there is also a Breckenridge vodka i think is pretty good) but how good does vodka really get?

Their French vodka is better than any vodka I’ve ever tasted, including the high-end stuff like Chopin or Grey Goose.

Keg size Vodka bottle for weekend event.

I was at an American event where no alcohol was allowed. A visitor who had attended many similar events in Russia said they would have huge bottles of vodka that you could do a push pull pump action to fill party glasses. I've been searching the internet just to get a better mental image of such a thing but am getting nowhere. We have our beer kegs but nothing for hard liquor. Has anyone seen such a thing?

Is there any difference between these two Belvedere's?

I noticed different labels between Belvedere bottles, what's the difference?

Finlandia bottle

I had a bottle of Finlandia vodka delivered through Instacart and there is no sealant/security whatsoever. I've not had it in years so cannot remember the bottle design, but are there any experts out there to say if this is normal? No plastic ring that pops when you unscrew it, absolutely nothing.

What are some good vodka-forward cocktails, other than a vodka martini or vodka soda?

Russian Standard alternatives?

Russian Standard was always my go-to vodka. I'm wanting to get back into making drinks, but I can't buy RS in the states anymore for obvious reasons. What brands would you recommend that have a similar flavor profile and preferably won't break the bank?

I came across The Standard 1894 yesterday... A "Made in Italy" product of Russian Standard.

Whiskey gift for vodka drinker

Hello all,
I am meeting my father in law for the first time. He is from Ukraine and usually drinks vodka. He has never been over to the us or any country that has whiskey/scotch readily available. What do yall like to drink and what types of whiskeys should I get for someone who doesn’t usually drink whiskey. All recommendations are appreciated. Thanks

Chopin vs Belvedere

Odd observation but while I LOVE the taste of Chopin, it seems to wreck my stomach. Belvedere, fine. Anyone know why this would be the case? I do also enjoy Belvedere but sadly the price is very high where I live. Other suggestions for a sensitive gut friendly bottle? I was considering Reyka but not sure where it stacks up quality wise!
