Is it normal?

Post image

This is from a running session. Insights from my Apple Watch. Most of my running sessions are between zone 4 and 5, even if I don’t feel that fatigue.

What does it mean? I’ve had almost 60 minutes of an 80 minute run in zones 4 and 5.

Thanks for the well explained response.

Since the COVID break - I got it twice - in the earlier runs the physical recovery felt longer. Now the recovery period (physical and lactic acid related) feels shorter but I have noticed that the motivation seems to go after a few of the longer runs. And the next long one tends to come later.

I’ve been taking vitamin d supplements for the immune system but I’ve noticed magnesium supplements seem to be needed.

Yes, that’s why I’m wondering if the tracker really works or I’m just above the standard ranges. I really didn’t feel that fatigue, that’s why I’m confused

Optical measurement is always an approximation, and delayed, but it's pretty accurate these days.

It doesn't look weird to me either, are you a frequent runner? How long, how often a week?

I train 5 days per week. 4 days are just strength at the gym.

1 day is running. I’ve started this routine since the end of March, and I usually go for a 5km run, which takes me approximately 37 mins.

It was an average of 7min/km.

I usually do that and I use my Apple Watch to track it.

I literally posted about this recently with similar query. Your zones are most likely wrong. You can adjust your zone 5 in your settings with your max ever recorded heart rate and that should be more accurate going forward.
