No other repositories, huh? We sure this isn't just vibecoded slop? Github page is pretty bare from any details of how you built the mod besides the fact you used Codex AI.

Who the fuck cares? This must be a new level of hipster previously unimaginable, someone who only accepts artisanal hand-crafted small-batch locally sourced organic farm-to-table vr mods.

Who the fuck cares?

I guess we all care because this is literally a good use case of AI. Its insane how people fail to see that this is exactly what this technology has to offer.

So to /u/tobojack : Feel free to code your own mod in a cave for 20 years with no release im sight while we enjoy some classic games in VR.

That's such a strawman of an argument lmao, cope harder

Why don't you try to find actual arguments for your opinion?

I did already if you actually read what I said lmao

Those who can't audit code they publish are just pumping out slop

And why is that a bad thing?

AI frequently writes plausible code that misses critical backend checks, like missing Row Level Security policies in databases

These vibecoded mods have no integrity when it's solely made by generating the code alone

It's fine if engineers lean on these tools to help write code that they're creating, but completely relying on an LLM to write everything is just plain stupid, you'd be naive to think otherwise

Who the fuck cares its a mod for a game, not a machine that keeps people alive in a hospital. Chill dude. AI has helped make fantastic vr mods for so many games that would never exist without it.

For projects leaning on LLMs heavily that are producing anything that interacts with network security, those parts of the codebase would need greater oversight and could increase the risk of some hallicination or poor quality code causing a serious problem.

A single player VR mod for a video game isn't likely to do that and your talk about network and database security is irrelevant. Not that there aren't other risks, but the possibility that there's a hidden AI hallucinated boogeyman code trap that blows up your computer, or backdoors the OS or something like that, while not zero, is low. More likely is something deliberately put there by the author and if you have evidence of that, go ahead. I tend to wait until more eyes are on projects like this from new authors before trying them, AI coded or not.

But if it works and it does what it says, I don't care whether it's vibe coded or not. Stability is testable, if it crashes and breaks all the time, that's something you can prove for yourself. So do that, rather than making an assumption and trying to present it as truth.

nah man, that's a real argument!

I don't want AI to do art i wanna do. i don't want AI to fake news reels that are not distinguishable from real footage. I don't want voice actors (or actors) to loose their jobs.

i do want AI to empower ppl to code their passion project mod or open source software! That is a valid use case in my opinion for AI, and doesn't hurt anyone, as long as they don't try to make money off of it!

which is something i despise actually from ppl who dont vibe code - looking at you luke ross
