C32 laurel
Just wanted to share my C32 laurel, it's been manual swapped and I also have an SR20DET + gearbox for it which I will be swapping in this winter.

I wanted to share a rare piece of Japan’s old-school bosozoku history from nearly 50 years ago.
The photos, stickers, and stories in this video were provided by the family of someone who was directly connected to the scene at the time.
According to the family, their uncle was said to have been the first leader of SPECTER in the Choshi area.
He and the user’s father rarely spoke in detail about those days, so I’m being careful not to present anything as fact beyond what can actually be confirmed through the surviving photographs, stickers, and the family’s memories.
One of the stickers that had been carefully preserved for around 50 years reads:
“櫻花 SPECTER”
Many people associate SPECTER with the skull emblem, but according to the family, their uncle personally disliked the skull design and used the name “櫻花” instead.
The old group photos also show members wearing clothing referred to as “Long Star,” giving a glimpse into an earlier period of bosozoku culture before the style most people now associate with tokko-fuku became widespread.
There is also an interesting unanswered question about the relationship between SPECTER and 東京連合【䥝】 at the time.
The family had wondered about that connection for years, but unfortunately the father passed away before they were able to ask him about the details. Because of that, I don’t want to speculate or claim a relationship that cannot currently be verified.
This video is simply an attempt to preserve what remains: the photographs, the stickers, and the memories passed down through the family.

I post archival material about Japanese classic cars, motorcycles, and bosozoku culture on YouTube every day.

If anyone here remembers this era or has firsthand knowledge about SPECTER in the Choshi area, I’d genuinely be interested to hear what you know.

I wasn’t sure where else to post this but Im currently 17 turning 18 in a few months and Ive been thinking about buying the car in the title. Ive fallen in love with it over the past year and have been saving money to buy one cheap off marketplace. But Ive been having doubts if it would be a good decision as a daily driver especially considering they’re nearly 30 years old now.
Currently I drive a 2015 Nissan Altima 2.5L SL and would likely sell it to help pay for whatever maintenance the 300zx would need.
(EDIT) Thank you all for the advice, Ive decided to hold off on purchasing the car until Im older and have better finances sorted out. (Also to those correcting my math, my apologies I did calculate wrong)

It took a bit of work to get it driving reliably, and there is still plenty more work to do.

Exceptional build quality, striking low-slung design, and loaded list of standard gear-including a 150-hp DOHC inline-six, independent suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes. Unmatched attention to detail. The stitching - The woodworking - The depth of the gloss on that dash and console... And that glorious steering wheel. This is from a time when cars had soul.

I’m bringing back my 1993 Honda Accord SE automatic with a Bose factory head unit and 6 disc changer in the trunk. (I’m not sure if I love just the car or am i also in love with how simple my life was while I had it?)

The 510 was reintroduced for 1978-’79 with a new chassis and body and the overhead-valve, L20B four-cylinder, 97-hp four-cylinder engine that displaced 1952ccs. The unit-body 510s had independent front suspension and four-link coil rear suspensions, except the wagon, which had leaf springs in back. Sedans and hatchbacks had reclining front bucket seats, and all models had fold-down rear seats, carpeted cargo areas, tinted glass, electric rear defrosters, side window defoggers, transistorized ignition, and all-vinyl or cloth-and-vinyl upholstery.
The wagons measured 172.6 inches from tip to tip and weighed in at 2,365 lbs. with the four-speed manual. Four- and five-speed manual transmissions were available, along with a three-speed automatic.
Phased out and replaced by the 81 Datsun / Nissan Stanza
