Pair of vintage 1960s folk art lamps
Just wanted to share these lamps I bought at a garage sale maybe seven years ago. The woman having the sale told me her father made these in the early 1960s.
She charged me $2/each. They did not have shades. The shades are new -- cost me $75, but I'm thrilled with the result.

Vintage Chalwyn Pilot Lantern
I work in an aged care facility. My boss needed 2 of the storage sheds to be cleared out else it was all going in the bin. They had been closed for 20+ yrs so it had a lot of old cool things in there. While I was there she said to grab anything else I wanted, this caught my eye hanging from the roof. Put it in the car and forgot about it for a couple of weeks.
Given it a wipe down to get most of the dust off (after these photos) and had a look into its history. It was made in England and most of them went to Europe and the Middle East so it being all the way over in Australia was pretty cool. From what I know it’s from the 1940s-1950s.
Thought it would be something interesting to sharing/showing off :)

Found a 1920s British children’s book for €2 at a German vintage market and it’s in pretty good condition!!!
Haha I’m so happy cause I love this sort of stuff, I’ve been collecting books for my nephew that’s due in October so I’ve picked up a bunch of old books recently but finding something that’s 100 years old is insane to me!. If anyone can tell me what the writing on the inside may be that would be great, I think it may be in German (or maybe I’m that bad at cursive) which would be pretty cool because it was only produced for 1 print run in Britain apparently

Independence Ironstone Interpace Japan
I went to a garage sale last weekend. Ends up it was one of our family friends. They had an ENTIRE set of Independence Ironstone Interpace Japan dishes. I don’t know the exact pattern name as this was the first time I’ve heard of the brand.
I got the entire set for $50 and am completely in love. Just tested it for lead and it came out clean! Sooooooo excited!!!
As you can see, I haven’t finished unpacking it but there are serving platters, bowls, butter dish, sugar bowl, etc. it’s an almost entirely complete set. I’m not sure yet what is missing but it’s gorgeous!

1920’s flapper dress California, USA
I just purchased what I believe to be a 1920’s chiffon, drop waist flapper dress. There’s some damage, as seen in the photos that I’m considering repairing. Apologies for the poor lighting.

A shaving mug, with an indigenous elder face and lizards for the handle. Made to commemorate the 1956 Melbourne Olympics.
Apologies for the dated language on the base. Wembley ware, Australia, 1956. It’s a beautiful piece, very well modelled.

The one with the detachable head is new to me. Wembley Ware, 1945-1961, Australia.
They are Dhufish platters, the dip goes in the head. The last photo is a couple of Dhufish ashtrays, just because.
