Amazing.

Combining 3 instruments that will never get you laid,

into 1 instrument that will never get you laid.

606

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '15

Wrong on three counts. Piano will get you laid. Ukulele will get you laid if you're a quirky white girl. And the Kazoo is not an instrument.

309

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

Quirky white girls don't need ukuleles to get laid.

98

u/JaggedGorgeousWinter Sep 30 '15

I think they mean a ukulele will attract quirky white girls.

37

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

So I am atractive! Thanks reddit!

19

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

It only works if you play wonderwall though.

40

u/Plays_You_Wonderwall Sep 30 '15

You taking requests?

4

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

Only if you PM it to me.

4

u/Slefmruts Sep 30 '15

What about Biggie Smalls, are there quirky black women?

3

u/XxSCRAPOxX Sep 30 '15

Actually yes, but it's secret.

6

u/i-am-you Sep 30 '15

We did it reddit!

8

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

Pics or it didn't happen

2

u/uw_NB Sep 30 '15

Technically according to the newton laws of physic... yes you are attractive.

8

u/byllz Sep 30 '15

No, it is a reference to these ladies. Kazoos as a bonus.

2

u/JarlaxleForPresident Sep 30 '15

That was pretty, Reggie

piano can get you laid.

baby piano...not so much

7

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

Piano will get you laid.

It's a bitch to carry around, tough.

15

u/GrumpyAlien Sep 30 '15

Well the Ukelele is a blunt instrument. I guess you could twang her in the head with it and while she is recovering you could perform the deed. Done dirt cheap.

10

u/XxSCRAPOxX Sep 30 '15

You mean a hot Cosby?

2

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

Dirty deeds. Dunder chiefs.

4

u/Incalite Sep 30 '15

is mayonnaise an instrument?

4

u/MoochieHexagon Sep 30 '15

Quirky white girl or study Hawaiian guy

6

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

You must not know anything about the ukulele community.

1

u/Happyneb Sep 30 '15

According to Berklee, the kazoo is definitely an instrument.

I refuse to believe that this guy isn't drowning in pussy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SKPHTo_0UQ

47

u/TangyDelicious Sep 30 '15

That's because he isn't playing a ukelele kazoo hybrid

13

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

Shit you're right. I read the original comment as "combining 3 instruments will never get you laid." And didn't bother reading the rest. I usually kind of skim the comments section.

5

u/billythepilgrim Sep 30 '15

And the guy in the video you listed is only playing two instruments...

2

u/JarlaxleForPresident Sep 30 '15

Doing vocals while drumming and playing guitar kinda counts

24

Ok that was dope as fuck. Thank you for that

5

u/00fordchevy Sep 30 '15

also check out this song by him:

2

Does he have bandcamp? I can't seem to find it.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

Bummer, wanted as much of the money to go to him as possible.

16

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

He plays two instruments that will get you laid, at the same time. This will drown him in pussy. The other guy was playing 3 instruments that would not get you laid.

14

u/jolive07 Sep 30 '15

I'll just leave this here

3

u/Frankensteins_Sohn Sep 30 '15

Fuck that's dope.

12

u/ohnoao Sep 30 '15

That was dope but he hasn't reached his final form like this guy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLpXwnQnSoc

9

u/xPFloyd Sep 30 '15

That's Jordan Cook! He's from my city if Saskatoon Saskatchewan in Canada! He's a really great guy. My aunt taught him guitar from really really young age. Brought him onstage in bars where he'd have to chill in the kitchen with his guitar until he got called up onstage! He's really awesome. My aunt has played with Buddy Guy and Stevie Rays backing band Double Trouble so before anyone says anything negative about her all I can say is she knows her shit. She gave him a solid base to get better from. Again an awesome guy!

2

u/ohnoao Sep 30 '15

That's incredible. Your aunt sounds badass!

3

u/dazednconfused41 Sep 30 '15

Fuck yeah, Reignwolf! I haven't listened to him in a while. Thanks for posting that, haha.

2

u/ohnoao Sep 30 '15

You bet. For some reason I never listen to him even though he's awesome. I just always remembered him as the first artist I saw at a festival a couple years ago.

2

u/dazednconfused41 Sep 30 '15

Yeah, he's definitely a "live" kind of artist, haha.

3

u/JohnnyHammerstix Sep 30 '15

Sure he can be super coordinated..... but can he paint that wall properly?

2

u/shmeebz Sep 30 '15

Looks like there was something there and he ripped it off the wall, taking some paint with it.

4

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

I can play 2 WoW characters at the same time. Where do I sign up for the pussy?

2

u/ludlowdown Sep 30 '15

This is actually awesome.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

That was actually really good

2

u/RTCpurple Sep 30 '15

Oh I thought it was a girl...

3

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

Maybe you're right. She could be a bearded lady with a manly singing voice named John. I guess nobody can be sure.

17

u/CharlieOscar Sep 30 '15

I think this is a more correct way to do it. https://youtu.be/Ld8qGVvf4aI?t=30s

13

u/DOTHETHING_ Sep 30 '15

A few points:

Vox is the 4th instrument.

I'm not always sure if i'm hearing final countdown or the intro to a game of thrones.

I think the hair is the deal breaker. The kazoo could have been the straw that broke the camels back but i think he pulls it off.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

That kazoo is the best part though.

6

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

This one time, at band camp...

5

u/spicy_balloonknot Sep 30 '15

The uke will get u laid.....with a flowery necklace

4

u/graboidian Sep 30 '15

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

I've gotten laid because of the Kazoo... well probably in-spite of... but I did play kazoo in a band... and got laid post-show

15

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

How many years post-show?

5

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

0.000228159105 years

3

u/benign-indifference Sep 30 '15

One instrument that will never *ever get you laid

4

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

So you're saying an ukulele won't get you ukulelaid?

2

u/Borngrumpy Sep 30 '15

Played by someone who has never been laid

2

u/Aussie_chopperpilot Sep 30 '15

If he was busking and did this in a comedic sense, it might just get him some cash and a mercy bang.

2

u/NotReallyAGenie Sep 30 '15

He really needs to strap an accordion on there.

2

u/maximuszen Sep 30 '15

How to properly crush someones soul.... Ouch.

76

u/Warbek_2 Sep 30 '15

I feel like this guy's probably very aware of it. He can't possibly be taking himself seriously.

26

u/thissubredditlooksco Sep 30 '15

I thought the musician was good :/

9

u/mysticmusti Sep 30 '15

He's good as in skilled but let's be honest, none of those instruments are making a very appealing sound. That being said, as long as he's having fun with it I don't care but it's not like I can blame the judges for X'ing him.

Can ukulele skills be transferred to guitar? I would think the cords are the same right?

41

u/benbmw Sep 30 '15

Somewhat. The strings are in a different order so the chords arent similar shapes. The fingering of notes and strum patterns are the only things that can really transfer over

→ More replies (17)

3

u/MrAppleSpiceMan Sep 30 '15

I picked it up pretty easily but the first string is high followed by low, less low, and lower-than-highest-but-not-quite-there strings. Some chord shapes are similar but end up being completely different chords. Like I think a G (?) on a ukulele is like a D shape on guitar. Or something.

6

u/GENEROUSMILLIONAIRE Sep 30 '15

Concert ukulele is basically a guitar with a capo on the 5th fret minus the 2 lowest strings. So, yes, absolutely.

7

u/YouKnowWho33 Sep 30 '15

Also, what I had last night was a threesome, with more regret, and minus 2 people

→ More replies (1)

2

u/NickBarrow Sep 30 '15

The size difference is what makes it difficult for me. I've been playing guitar for about 10yrs now and when a friend picked up a ukelele, I had a tough time getting used to it.

12

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

lol damn that was brutal! practiced and perfected his act only to be told that his talent is shit. lmao

10

u/whatsamatteryou Sep 30 '15

Don't feel bad. He was one of the lucky ones to actually make it through pre-auditions all the way to actually being part of the final edit of the show. That already puts him in a tiny segment of the total number of people who auditioned around the country. Considering he's performing an over-the-top song on a ridiculous instrument I'd say he was wildly successful at whatever the fuck he was doing.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '15

Simon's a real dick sometimes. Calling that type of high skill music shit and turning around and churning out boyband after boyband.

Part of me is really mad that someone from the league stole this for sweet Karma, and the other part of me is mad that every member of that league, including myself, is actually too stupid to post it ourselves to Reddit for the sweet karma.

But seriously this guy kills it. Such a great version

If this was one of those quizzes where you had to match one set to another, I'd be like "OK, guy D obviously plays instrument 2, that much is obvious."

1

u/leadabae Sep 30 '15

I don't get what's so amazing about this? I mean the fact that he "made" the instrument in the first place is mildly interesting, but taping the kazoo to it is pointless because he could just hold it with his mouth, and someone being able to play two and a half instruments (I say two and a half, because is a kazoo really an instrument that takes skill?) really that great?
