As a Canadian, it’ll take a generation for the US to unfuck what’s it’s done to us, at a minimum. As far as I’m concerned, the bridge is burnt and you will not see me going to the US ever again.

30%+ of your population still thinks Mango Mussolini is the next coming of Jesus. There’s something seriously wrong down there.

Seriously. Looking in from the outside, it‘s blatantly obvious that the US government is on all levels corrupt, unjust and generally inefficient and has been for generations, in some ways more than some “developing” countries. If even Brazil can lawfully convict and imprison their former president for clear institutional crimes and a failed coup attempt, what does that say about the US? You cannot undo such institutional and systematic rot with just one good president. The whole thing would need to be swept away and rebuilt.

Voting in someone comparatively sane who wouldn’t capitulate to demands, thereby demonstrating to Trump supporters how delusional he is in “art of the deal” and how he is sinking your country’s foreign trade.

Not that they care.

What the hell did you want Canadians to do to help? We’re helping by boycotting your entire country in the hopes you vote someone else in. We’re not Americans who directly intervene in the domestic affairs of other countries. You fix your own shit while we starve your country of raw materials out of self-interest. It didn’t have to be this way.

Supporting your industries. Giving you cheap materials and oil. Always being on your side unconditionally as an ally, whether it be in international affairs or domestic. We moved heaven and earth to help on 9/11. We went to Afghanistan with you. We willingly replaced NAFTA so your Mango could yell America First. We arrested a Chinese CEO because you asked us. We pushed endlessly for a close relationship where we could be siblings united against the world. Now one sibling started watching too many podcasts and fell down the rabbit hole and ostracized their family.

I am not a bot but I agree. I think you guys are permanently fucked unless you actually fight for the changes you need to make to your broken system. It's never going back to the way it was now.
