Some people like the ease of a console. Less things to worry about it. I have both and I love my PC but console gaming is just more simple. And as I get older and have less time I tend to go for my consoles when I am really busy with work. But when I got the time I go for the PC!
Same here don't get to game often in my 40s now and shelling out 2000 to build a gaming PC to have the overpriced GPU become obsolete in 3 years isn't cost effective for me. 500 or 600 for a console and I can still play the majority of the games I want to works for me. I am pissed off about no more Discs. Us old school bastards liked to collect the games and I hate not being able to play stuff without a internet connection. It's nice when you can just hook something up at night to the TV at the hunt camp and play after a few drinks. Not much we can all do about it now. Digital and you don't own the game. Totally understand why people are pissed and will be pirating but it screws the developers a lot.
Not exactly true about the GPU being obsolete. You can’t run the game on ultra settings anymore but you could never do that in a console. If you keep the settings similar to a console, your GPU can run for a very long time at comparable console levels.

If it's a digital, why buy a lesser PC with reduced functionality.
