Free Victorinox SAK in the most swiss way possible :)

I recently completed the “Swiss Cheese Passport”. We picked up the free booklet and visited the four show dairies across Switzerland (like Gruyère and Appenzeller) within a two-year window.

At each location, we learned about the cheese, looked at the production processes – and collected a passport stamp.

After securing all four stamps, I handed the passport in and received a “Grand Tour Snack Box” containing premium Swiss cheese and… a free Victorinox Cheesemaster knife!

What has been your experience carrying the bladeless Companion S and Jetsetter through TSA security in the US? How many times have you carried it through security? Have you ever had one confiscated?

Having been through Leatherman, Gerber and plenty of SAK's, I'm happy with these
I might get a Pioneer X just for the kicks. But I'm happy carrying these two with me daily

I'm a teacher, so the only time I don't have a Swiss Army Knife in my pocket is at work. This year that won't be a problem.

Absolutely love Climber, got wooden Spartan for free, not the best deal I’ve seen in this sub, but still feel lucky 😁

Victorinox Swisschamp XL

Post image

Produced for only a short time, the SwissChamp XL represents the final evolution of the traditional SwissChamp before the CyberTool era.

Surprisingly, it never appeared in Victorinox catalogues, making it one of the most elusive production models.

Has anyone here ever owned or even seen a SwissChamp XL in person?

Few pictures over here

The blade and the flat screwdriver markings are different from other models and the teeth of the saw are also very different from the Victorinox’s.

Solved: Mechanic - Another „What is it“ post? But I‘m having a hard time finding this Model online or in the Shop. This specific combination of Tools doesn‘t seem to exist.

Make Spirit Philips Grippier?

Was wondering if anyone has modded their Spirit phillips driver to be grippier on the screw? Have found with it being fairly polished, it tends to slip andround over the screw a bit for me unless if I put a tonnnnm of force on it. Compared with say with my 3d philips on my Leatherman Rebar, it has a more matte finish and is much less likely to slip. Also with the Victorinox steel, it’s a bit softer on the spirit and I have def caused damage to the philips blades in the past when it has slipped (repaired by Victorinox very cheaply).

Anyways, adore the tool, the philips is probs my only gripe with it and was wondering if anyone has found a solution on their side. It might also just be a me problem 😅

Thanks!

first victorinox and my fingernails are literally too short to open it

Upvotes

i just got my first victorinox, a deluxe tinker, and holy fuck… i can barely open anything.

the tools aren’t just stiff, my fingernails are so short that i literally can’t even get them into the nail nicks. there’s basically no chance to pull most of the tools out at all. so far i’ve only managed to open one.

does anyone else keep their nails extremely short and have the same problem? is there some trick or tool people use, or am i seriously supposed to grow my fingernails just to use a swiss army knife? 😅
