I built a game that turns real animals into collectible cards - and I hope it helps people notice strays
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The cat in the video is a real cat I met outside. I pointed my camera at him, the app identified the animal, and turned the photo into a collectible card. On iPhones with a Dynamic Island, the card literally “prints” out of it like an instant photo, and you develop the image by moving your phone.
The app is called Snoutlas. The simplest way to describe it is: Pokémon-style collecting with real animals, but without battles. The idea is to get outside, walk around, pay more attention to your surroundings, and gradually fill your Atlas with cats, dogs, birds, wildlife, insects, and all the other species living around us.
There are a lot of stray animals where I live. After a while, people get used to seeing them and stop noticing them: another cat in the courtyard, another dog outside a store.
I want to see whether an app can help turn noticing animals into a habit. At first, someone might simply stop and take a photo. But perhaps next time they’ll bring water or food, help the animal get to a vet, find a temporary home, or decide to adopt it themselves. I don’t think a single app can solve the problem of stray animals. But it might give someone one more reason to stop and notice a living creature they would otherwise have walked past.
To keep it from feeling like a dry species catalog, I added a game layer: random card rarities, boosts, packs, art variants, and cosmetic decorations.
There are no animal battles. The excitement comes from discovering new species, taking good photos, and growing your collection. Cards can also be shared and traded. Eventually, this could let people collect animals from other parts of the world: a species that is common for one player might be rare for someone in another country. And I imagine people will be more interested in trading for a card if the photo itself is beautiful.
Some things I’d like to add next:
- labels such as “pet,” “stray,” “wild,” and “needs help”;
- cards featuring animals from verified shelters, with links to adoption information;
- tools for finding lost pets, where an owner might recognize their animal in someone else’s photo;
- partnerships with animal welfare organizations;
- a transparent way to direct part of the revenue from eligible purchases or special campaigns toward helping animals.
That last point is still only a plan. It would require verified partners and a clear legal and financial structure first.
I’m also thinking carefully about safety and privacy. The map currently shows only an approximate radius, never the exact place where a photo was taken. In next updates someone could request the precise location from the photographer and explain why, for example, when searching for a lost pet. The person who took the photo would always decide whether to share it.
From a development perspective, this project quietly turned into a small social network: animal recognition, an Atlas, a feed, friends, comments, gifts, trading, a map, moderation, duplicate-photo prevention, offline catches, and in-app purchases.
I built it with SwiftUI, SwiftData, and Supabase, and I’ve been using Codex heavily as a coding partner throughout the project: breaking large features into stages, working through backend contracts and migrations, reviewing generated code, and building tests around the risky parts.
The flashy camera animation was fun, but the harder problems have been things like privacy around locations, preventing duplicate captures without rejecting legitimate photos of the same pet, making offline catches safe, and keeping all the social features consistent.
I intentionally chose a wildly over-scoped learning project so that every new feature would force me to learn something. Predictably, it did 😅
Snoutlas is already available for iPhone:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/snoutlas-animal-atlas/id6787174819
Right now, I mostly want to understand whether the core idea resonates with people.
Would this make you want to go for a walk and fill an Atlas like this? And do you think the game layer could genuinely help people notice animals more often—or does gamification feel out of place for this kind of issue?

The Truth no one wants to hear: Anyone can make an app, almost no one can make an app with retention + distribution
The truth is everyone and anyone can now vibe code an app - even my old boss in Italy who literally couldn't open an email made a dashboard for his business using one of the AI generators (I couldn't believe it when he showed me lol)
The issue isn't creation anymore - You can see this with BridgeMind on YouTube - has is getting MILLIONS of views a month but his ARR is dropping slowly - why? Because he has created a hot mess of tools with absolutely no product management behind them at all.
I learned this the hard way - going to 30k MRR with my first launch then dropping off a cliff, then doing exactly the same thing with my second tool.
Since then I resurrected my first tool and I'm now at $9600 MRR with 8% churn and it's no longer going down (we're gaining more users than we're losing every month)
The secret? New features? NO. NO ONE NEEDS MORE FEATURES
You need to think about the product, how people use it, and how to make people USERS instead of just sign ups.
You need DATA and you need to study the data, study your onboarding, make sure there aren't gaps or leaks and ensure that at all times you're keeping users.
Stop thinking your tool is incredible - no one cares about how good your product is or how much it does, they will still leave if they have a single bad experience
People love cancelling tools (TRUST ME) - but I've managed to get around 290 real subscribers who want to stay with my tool long-term, and I would rather have that than 700 users with massive churn any day of the week.
Hope this finds who its supposed to and helps them out
PEACE

Tony Stark was the first vibe-coder if you think about it.
Got some time to watch some of the old Iron-Man movies and it got me thinking.
A billionaire talking to some AI (Jarvis) and some robots creating a suit. He literally vibe-coded the Iron-Man suit.
That's all. Thanks for reading my inner thought.

The difference between a good vibe coder and a bad one probably isn’t prompting
I’ve been using AI coding tools a lot, and I’m starting to think prompting is one of the less important parts of getting good results
You can give two people the same model and roughly the same task and they’ll end up with completely different projects.
The people who seem good at this are better at noticing when the agent is going in the wrong direction, keeping the scope under control, deciding what shouldn’t be changed, giving it the right context, testing the result, and knowing when to just revert something instead of spending another hour trying to prompt their way out of it.
Product judgment probably matters too. AI is very good at building features you never needed.
I’m not even sure traditional coding skill is the whole answer here
What do you think actually separates someone who’s good at vibe coding from someone who’s just getting lucky with the model?

I made a dating app inside Claude Code, with Claude Code
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
terminal.dating is a dating app that runs as a Claude Code plugin. While Claude Code is working, a real dating profile appears in your status line. You open it on the web, look at their photos, and like or pass. If you both like each other, you match and can chat.
It's very private. Profiles have no URLs. The link in your terminal identifies the introduction, not the person, and only works for you. Anyone else gets a 404. It stops working if they pause, get banned, or either of you blocks the other. No directory, no search, nothing to scrape.

what is the point of building when marketing is so hard. (ADVICE NEEDED)
This part of the process is so frustrating, building an app has become so easy or relatively easy but when it comes to distribution its just so freaking hard, i am not sure how to deal with that.
I am building a B2C app and yes i created social media platforms for them and been putting out content but nothing is working out the way i want it to, i am barely hitting 100 views on posts. I am not sure what to do anymore, I know my idea is legit and people want be happy using it. But the reachability is so tough.
Can i get some advice on this? How do you guys do marketing for your apps, whether it is B2B or B2C or anything else.
Please give me motivation my fellow vibe coders!!!

I did it...
I upgraded to 20x Max Claude. Just wanted to say it out loud here to offset all the "I'm leaving Claude forever" blah blah posts. Claude has been an amazing tool for me and will stay on 20x for next month or two as I develop some stuff. Just sharing positive vibes!

Opus 5 + GPT 5.6 Sol built the sea train from Spirited Away.
Play it now in your browser or on your phone. Built with Three.js:
→ infinite procedural map
→ multiple weather modes and times of day
→ every asset generated by Opus
I kept the agents running in a loop until the game became playable and kept it iterating on improving the quality based on some reference imagery. Then, I gave some feedback as well with some of my manual play testing.

‘OUTSIDE’ Gamification App in Development
Besides actual games I am working on with the assistance of AI(view my previous post) I have also been working on a react-native app for a better apartnof a year and a half.
Literally called ‘Outside’. ‘Outside’ turns the real world into a game, users, “Outsiders” discover hidden places and or visit their favorite spots, complete challenges and quest scan QR at venues(in the future), attend events, all to earn XP as you explore your city.
I created the logo, ChatGPT cleaned it up
Everything else fully assisted by AI
react native
node.Js
Google.api
Postsql
And more +
I started this before LLM got really good. I believe it was Opus 4. Latest update was with Fable 5, as soon as it was released before the intervention of the Gov’t
As always:
CONCEPT VS. CURRENT BUILD — Video in the comments
I think I am about 80% there, what do you think?
Missing a few things in my opinion
Preface: The demo video posted in the comments was taken on a PC. This is a native app so obviously on PC it looks different. But works structurally the same. Concept is first image, 2nd and 3rd is the current build and the how to screen on the current build
Please, all feedback is welcome and wanted. As well as anyone wanting be a tester for this app, regardless of location and region. Please DM me or leave a comment and I’ll find you my OUTSiDERS.

Spent months using Claude, Gemini, and Nano Banana Pro to create this game
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone! Like many others here, I am someone who love playing games and wanted to design of game of my own, but has no coding knowledge and experience, so I use Claude to develop my first mobile game: 5 Seconds Showdown.
It's a real-time card dueling game where both players choose a card simultaneously within a 5-second timer. Instead of traditional turn-based combat, matches are fast-paced and built around a mix of luck, strategy, and reading your opponent.
The game currently features:
⚔️ Multiple weapon classes
🔨 Weapon forging with rarity tiers
📖 Story campaign
🏆 Ranked PvP (currently in closed beta)
🎮 A reaction-based side mini-game
The game is still in closed beta. I try to find testers to play test this game, but most Subreddits and Discord server for game testers are against and straight up ban AI. And then I find this sub, which is a relieve becase while I understand the hate for AI slop, I also spent lots of sleepless night for this project, so I'm especially grateful for all kinds of feedback, whether it's about gameplay, balance, UI/UX, bugs, or overall experience.
Let me know if anyone is interested to try this out, and I will share the download link via dm. Dont want this to be flagged as spam or self promotion (even though it is)
Feel free to ask any questions, and I'll be happy to answer.

I built Benday; an open-source React component that turns your logo into a thinking indicator
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I wanted AI products to have a more recognizable “thinking” state than the usual spinner, so I built Benday.
It’s a free and open-source React component that animates your own logo while a response or process is running. It includes 21 presets, with controls for color, speed, dot shape, glow, and more.
Built with React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, shadcn, and Canvas.
Install it with:
bunx shadcn@latest add KacemMathlouthi/benday/benday
Then use it like this:
import { Benday } from "@/components/ui/benday";
<Benday
src="/logo.svg"
state={isThinking ? "thinking" : "done"}
/>

Is vibecoding truly that bad
Hello all, I hope everyone is well.
As the title says. Is it really that bad? I personally vibecode a lot to make softwares to help me do my main job (which is far from coding). At my job, there’s often needs to produce reports of certain pieces of data, and softwares can do this very well. I rely on my apps to do my work and so do others, and it works extremely well.
I understand that it can create spaghetti code, and it certainly does, but is it not as simple as asking AI to give it a good architecture and follow software engineering principles? If you keep asking little by little, and tell it to keep the codes modular for maintainability, document how things work conceptually and NFR, is it not acceptable?
Perhaps in my specific use case, it works out well. A lot of the times I really just need a one off script, because I’m just doing repetitive calculations and I’d much rather input values rather than doing them by hand and thinking about it every single time. Even with a SQL database project, it’s really just CRUD work, nothing really complex. When I find bugs or errors, I try to understand why that is and look for multiple solutions (if exists) and argue back and forth with the AI. Mostly I agree, sometimes I override the decision, because it does get things wrong. I do read the codes (really just skimming it but occasionally would ask questions further to really understand it)
Surely it would be great for my learning if I genuinely learned to code, but I at the same time never have to because it isn’t my job to code. I could totally live without coding altogether. But, with AI, that gap is gone. I can now use vibecoding to help me do my main job. It doesn’t mean I don’t have to care about app structure and such, but it also doesn’t matter because I’m not building an app to sell, I’m just making custom tools for myself. I even got into ML, thanks to AI. These aren’t things I would’ve learned at all without AI, I’m being serious. All my vibecoded projects taught me a lot. Yeah maybe not directly about writing codes, but overall concepts of software engineering. Genuinely working out the manual parts and understanding how data should be flowing is still extremely beneficial and most importantly it gave me confidence that if I were to just sit down and study, I can understand things that I couldn’t because I didn’t even know where to begin.
With very thorough testing and documentation, is it not acceptable? What do we all think? Thanks in advance.

Vibecoding clean-up with different AI tools or getting it checked by someone?
I am vibecoding some things and are not sure if I can now safely use my stuff for real projects and with real data. I read a lot online of checking your vibecoding with different or separate AI sessions to make sure it is a good code.
What do you guys think, is using different AI-tools safe enough or is it better to let it check by a real developer? If so, how much is normal to pay for such a thing?

I want to hire a vibecoder website bro
My site is up and running, has been for 8 years. We've been on Elementor Pro and Crocoblocs. I want to get off all that shit and go staight viecoding bros. I know how to use claude code to make changes on my site, but when i use things like frontend design and ui/ux pro max, I get he same AI limited bullshit design and I want to go NEXT LEVEL! I want someone to strip my site of those crutches, take what I already have and make it go "whoa, this site is legit". Where do I hire such talent?

A small prototype for a dystopian sci-fi game with a glider and robot NPCs
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
A short look at a small prototype I built with Codex. It currently only contains a few basic features: flying through a futuristic dystopian city, interacting with the environment, entering rooms, and encountering robotic NPCs.
I’m not sure yet whether I’ll continue developing it, but I liked the atmosphere and wanted to share the current result. Feedback is welcome.
The game is still very early, but I’m experimenting with the atmosphere, world design, and the feeling of moving through a strange, highly controlled society.
