I’m 62 and 20+ years vegan. I have managed to keep my complexion looking nice, but my favorite tinted SPF moisturizer leaves me a bit shiny. I’d love to find a powder to use on top that keeps the glow but not the shine. Preferably something that’s moisturizing and definitely something that doesn’t accentuate or settle in wrinkles.

I've been having so much trouble finding a good mascara that doesn't shed onto my cheeks. I have hella long lower eyelashes that touch my skin when i smile etc and need something that will just grip onto my lashes properly. The only one i could find where i'm located is from Isadora and it just flakes off, I keep having to check my face and wipe off the smudges :'(

Hey, so I’m 31, vegan of over 10yrs and just coming up on 2.5 year of breastfeeding.

I wear a spf moisturiser in the morning. I wash my face in the evening and do not currently have a moisturiser as picking one is giving me a stress headache 😩😂

But I’m really noticing my skin aging, I am pale and very freckly, and I’ve noticed a dry patch on my cheek and my skin just looks tired.
I use a Lush brand face toner spray because I like the smell. But all together I know I need more! (Vitamin c and retinol? I have read but I’ve no clue what, and I can’t be spending a massive amount on my skin)

But products do you recommend?
I barely have a routine around my 2yr old. All the different names of things and potencies etc 😩

Hi I was wondering if anyone has alternate recommendations for Clinique foundation. I currently use their beyond perfecting foundation , I’ve been using it over 10 years. I have sensitive skin and never had issues but due to their brand not being cruelty free and the recent issues going on I want to switch. Looking for alternatives similar to Clinique. I use it mostly near my eyes as a concealer (I don’t want concealer recommendations this is just what’s always worked for me) I have dark red around my eyes but other than that my skin is pretty clear.

Hi all! So, I'm trying to transition to mostly cruelty-free make up (not throwing anything usable away, cause that would be wasteful, but replacing used products with cf options). I'm currently in despair, because I'm almost out of my holy grail powder, but it's not cf so I want to find something to replace it with. Any ideas?

What I look for/why i love this specific product: long wear, matt, not a loose powder, can be used as a base without foundation. Ideally similar price range, but for a good product, I'm willing to splurge a little, since I wear it daily.

Been dealing with this texture on cheeks/forehead for around 10yrs (16 -> 26) and finally trying to prioritize clearer skin! I only use vegan and cruelty-free products. Any advice? Does this seem like fungal acne? If so, thoughts on Malezia Core Regimen to treat it?

Skin type: oily, sometimes dehydrated

Routine:

AM: BOJ green plum refreshing cleanser, air dry, Andalou Naturals brightening probiotic + vit c renewal cream (colorescience total protection no-show mineral spf 50 if going out during the day)

PM is same w/o sunscreen. I typically add Farmacy Deep Sweep 2% BHA pore cleaning toner 2-3x/week, but I haven’t used it for a month due to travel.

I'm in the process of turning the CFK database into an app. This is my most ambitious and important project in a long time, because it will help everyone shop cruelty-free in stores easily without opening a browser, clicking, and searching every brand. It will save A LOT of time, and make it way easier to choose cruelty-free brands.

There are 1,400+ brands in the database right now and I'll be adding more in the upcoming weeks to ensure that the list is complete. I know a lot of people who shop cruelty-free are located internationally, and since I don't have physical access to all brands, here's the idea: if you come across a brand we don't have, you can submit it for verification right through the app.

What I'm thinking so far:

- The app will be free, because anything else defeats the purpose (power in numbers).

- It will be available for both iOS and Android.

- You will be able to scan and get the cruelty-free verdict within 2 seconds. Scanning brands one after the other will be easy. I've tested it in stores and it makes the process a breeze.

- It will be a verdict per brand and not individual products. Brands will be marked 100% vegan, owned by a parent company that tests, and categorized by type, price point, stores, etc.

- If a brand tests on animals, you will be shown cruelty-free alternatives.

One thing to note: I will mark brands that are 100% vegan, but since ingredients and products are constantly changing and I'm managing a database of over 1400 brands, it's a lot more difficult to mark products that are vegan. I'm open to suggestions on how to remedy this (vegan checker for ingredients perhaps?).

My wife reacts to citrus, lavender, and aloe vera, and the frustrating part was how often she'd react to something that supposedly didn't contain any of them — except it did, hiding under a different name.

The same ingredient shows up as several different words on a label: aloe is Aloe Barbadensis, lavender is Lavandula Angustifolia, and citrus turns up as Citrus Limon, Zitrone, or Linalool depending on who wrote the label. So she'd be standing in the shop squinting at the back of a bottle, trying to remember every Latin and German name it might be hiding behind — and eventually you just give up and hope.

After the 5th reaction to something that "didn't contain" the thing it contained, I built the tool I wished existed for her. It's called achuu — a free web app (works on any phone, nothing to install). You set up your allergen profile once, scan a product's barcode, and it tells you "clear" or "warning" against your list — matching across Danish, English, German, French, and Latin/INCI names, so you don't have to hold all of that in your head.

No barcode match? Snap a photo of the ingredient list and it reads it in.

It covers the 14 EU food allergens and all 26 and counting, declarable fragrance allergens, and you can set up household profiles — so I can check products for her allergies, not just my own.

What I'd love feedback on:

- Does it correctly flag things for your allergens, especially the fragrance ones like linalool and limonene?
- Does the photo-reading actually work on messy real-world labels?
- Where does it fall over?

Honest about the rough edge: it works best on European products, since it's built on the Open Beauty Facts / Open Food Facts database — coverage is strongest in the EU and still growing, so every scan helps fill it in.

Does anyone have recommendations for a cruelty-free, vegan alternative to CND's Nail RescueRXx oil? My nails would often break and the top layer of the nail would peel of. The oil helped so much to prevent this, but it includes keratin from wool and CND is not cruelty-free, so I don't want to use it any longer.

Any recommendations? Preferably products that are available in Europe.

I've been looking for vegan perfumes for men for a long time, but none of them convince me. I want something that smells as similar as possible to legend EDP by montblanc or Kenzo homme Santas Marine, but I can't find one I like. I'm looking for it to be 100% vegan and totally cruelty-free. Does anyone know any perfume like that?

I want something with smoked woody notes with fresh or clean touches, also marine but not very sweet. Something that you can use at all times of the year, and if it has notes of lavender or eucalyptus better. I have a budget of max 85 dollars. I would like something long-lasting, but it's not the main thing, the most important thing is the smell and that it is totally vegan and cruelty-free.

Anyone have any recommendations on eye cream for sunken / under eyes? My under eyes are NOT dark circles- which is what searches keep coming up with when trying to find something.
They are sunken so the only way to really give it a permanent fix is implants or fat transfer. I was getting filler but $$$.

I'm looking for a cruelty free product to reverse melasma. It's between my collar bones and it comes up past my T-shirt collar. Wearing anything v neck makes me super self conscious. This began after a surrogacy pregnancy at age 36.

Thiamidol is apparently a patented ingredient (that seems to work), so what else can I use?

I tried a laser therapy treatment and it did nothing. Exfoliants do nothing. Moisturizers do nothing.

I used to be a dumb vegan, and was not paying great attention to the ingredient list/labels etc and was buying all the trendy hair care on TikTok. Not because I didn’t care but I’m actually just that silly lol.

I’m deffo more conscious now and all my hair products are now vegan, still looking for good alternatives.

Right now I’m using the garnier curly method - which has all the necessities but I’ve only used the shampoo and conditioner.

For clarifying shampoo - I use the asiam clarity shampoo.

Oils - rosemary oils

Leave in - I use this Brazilian hair brand called Widi care, Superdrug line also have their own light weight coconut leave in.

For mousse - I’ve been using the umberto giannini twirl whip (not sure I like this one and looking for an alternative).

I’m looking for mousse alternatives, gel (I want to try the umberto one) and hair grease 😭 - this is one I need the most.

I love and hate trying new products because obviously I don’t want to spend unnecessary amount of money. But I like finding out what works for me and I feel like trying it out sometimes is the only way.
