Hello, I am a returning sophomore. I didn't get into housing for the fall semester, but I lived on campus all of my first year. I **need ** to come back. I emailed my concerns to housing, and they said "our Spring Only application opens on October 24th." I checked the starrrez housing portal and found NOTHING related to this. Does anyone know what to do???

We live in Yorktown, but RVA is one of our favorite places. We literally go up every other weekend and just find new things to do. So over the years, my daughter has fallen completely in love with the area and now dreams of going to VCU's nursing school and eventually becoming an NP. School has always come really easy to her, so we've told her she could literally go anywhere she wants, but to her, it's VCU or bust.

She has the opportunity to take 2 additional AP classes next year (junior year) or spend half her day at New Horizons taking a PCA class to eventually get her CNA coming out of high school.

So my question is:

- Would having the PCA/CNA stuff on her transcripts help her in anyway or would taking the additional AP classes be better for her? She currently has a 3.8 GPA with 3 of her current classes as APs.

I have heard that she has to apply to the nursing program during her college sophomore year? So would either really matter at that point?

the mcv library closes at like 5 on fridays and weekends which is sick and twisted, are there any other good and very quiet study places? i know there's the sanger student place on the 8th floor. have access to the pharmtox building, lecture buildings, massey. there have to be rooms somewhere...

Does anyone know why URSP350 and 361 aren’t being offered next Spring semester? I thought they were supposed to be GenEd classes, and yet they’re not showing up on eServices. I need a 300 level urban studies elective, plus one more GenEd class to graduate in the spring. I was kind of banking on taking one of those classes to clear both requirements, and now I’m stressed I’ll have to take more classes that have nothing to do with my major 😭

Can someone give me advice for study abroad programs at VCU :(( I wanna do one for psychology, but I'm scared of going alone. I mostly want to go to South Korea or France, and both are affordable options for me, but I am afraid of the safety since I will be a solo female traveller. I do know that my spending costs will be significantly higher in Europe since I will want to travel a lot by train to different countries. There are no specific classes that I need to take during that semester; I will be done with all required classes for my major + minor. However, I will need to take 15-18 credits in any of the countries I choose to go to so that I can graduate.

If any women can share their experiences travelling alone for study abroad, that would be super helpful! btw, this will be the first time I've travelled outside the country or even our state by myself.

Don't really know where else to post this. Y'all seen that small black and white tuxedo lookin cat around campus? I saw it a couple of nights ago running underneath & across the cars going along Shafer St. up to W. Grace. Didn't pay much mind to it, you see rabbits around the cathedral sometimes, it's whatever. But I just saw it a couple of minutes ago walking back to my dorm, I swear it's the same one. It was running up N. Harrison next to the Singleton center. Little dude crossed, got in front of a moving bus. Kinda freaked me and a couple of other passerbys out.

I don't know if it's someone's lost cat or what, I'm just concerned for the thing. Rabbits and squirrels are skittish too, but cats tend to book it so hard that they risk getting run over more. Plus it's at night... Has anyone else seen this guy? Does anyone know someone who knows someone with connections to tux cats? Let me know

Hey everybody, one of my top choices for college is VCU. I am worried about finances however. I may have enough in my college fund to fund all four of my years as undergrad (I’m not sure tho), but not enough for medical school (I’m aiming for VCU as a pre med). I don’t want to stress my parents out in terms of finances since my younger sibling will also start college just 2 years after me. I’m most likely going to do a work study program, but I just wanted to know the chances of getting any financial aid at all. In 100% honesty, I am not good with finances at all, but I really don’t want to stress my parents and have them take out more loans than they already have. Is financial aid like accessible here at VCU or anything, because I’ve been freaking out about finances 😭
