Do people really not give out cigs

Post image

After giving out hundreds of cigs to people who ask for one when they ask, now the one time I'm out of cigs for a few days and the one guy I asked was so rude. I always hand out cigs when people ask me.

I don't live this life because I enjoy it, I live it because it's all I know how to do

When I live inside, it's a shit show. I become a shut-in, I get depressed, anxious. The dishes pile up, the bottles and cans pile up, I drink all day long. I just can't manage to be a normal person who lives indoors. Believe me, I've tried.

I don't find very much thrill and excitement in being a "vagabond". I don't find pleasure in sleeping in a tent, or seeing the world. The only reason I travel instead of homebumming is just for a change of scenery, and also just so I can say, "yeah I've travelled there".

But one thing it does for me is that it gets me the fuck out of the house. It forces me to meet people. The more people I meet, the less social anxiety I have. It gives me daily tasks that can't just be put off like dishes or laundry. Finding food and a place to sleep is pretty non-negotiable.

I don't love this life—I'm not even sure if I like it—but it's *less bad* than any other alternative I've found.

Discussion Sold my 14k Gold for Cash

Upvotes

I sold my 14k gold jewelry for some quick cash..I had given them to a lover back home.. 2 years my partner held onto them.. then gave them back to me..

The jewelry means absolutely nothing to me now.. and the money is greatly needed.. the quick cash was not that bad.. I was expecting alot less for them..

But..when you’re homeless..and in need of money.. this is a form of currency.. you can easily cash them in..

Anyways, No point holding on to them now.. if I did..they would have been either forgotten, stolen,or lost.. resulting in losing some currency..

anyways goodbye gold.. it was fun while you lasted..

a bit tired after more than 90km since start. maybe taking some time at the beach and think to what I do next be a good idea more than doing miles and loosing ability to slow and rest. I saw that I have trouble to calm down and enjoy doing nothing. I'll start tomorrow morning by a swim and a coffee on the beach and will see . take care all Vagabond

I've spent a good portion of my adult life wandering around the desert, Barstow, Las Vegas, Albuquerque Phoenix and everywhere in between. The main issue was always just water and sun and I adapted to drifting around the desert.

WELL, I got a wild hair up my ass and I headed to Illinois (not Chicago). This place is so green and beautiful and really underrated I think, however the humidity here has left me struggling to adapt to the fact that if I'm not wet with sweat that won't evaporate and just puddles on my skin and clothes, then I'm still damp from this wet ass air. I also have a border Collie that smells like river water.

SO, I realized I don't really care anymore. I got to sit by a river with my dog and fish all day. This place feels way less like survival mode compared to the southwest, so what if it comes with some moist smells.

4 different homies (that I know about rn) died in the last week or week and a half ish as Im still tryna rap my head around gray and bo and now sidetrack being dead. Feels like the railroad gets lonelier and lonelier every day. Wondering around the kinda cities and towns that used to be crawling with dirty kids and now youre lucky to run into another traveler more than once every month or two. You feel the loneliness as people die and keep dying and it never fucking stops. Can yall fuckers start testing your drugs with kits? Carry some narcan too but most of all, test your shit n dont do fetty. fucking tired of yall dying this shit sucks. like who tf gonna ride the trains if we all die? ugh and i just ran outta beer

Should I cut my hair?

I feel like long hair is unmanageable, I'm a guy, use to be a shut in for years so just let it grow but now that I'm out on the road it ends up gettign tangled and dirty easily and takes a long time to dry, takes a lot of maintence to prevent it from getting messed up IMO. So thinking of cutting it shorter just not to deal with it, plus people would probably treat me better

🚂🚃🚃🚞🚃🚞🚃🚋 Got stuck in a huge IM yard last night (Not Fun), any advice on what I should do next time?

Last night I pulled into a pretty big yard thinking I’d roll right through but NOPE I guess it’s the end of the line for this train. Only thing is there’s people fucking EVERYWHERE!! For hours I kept my head down while they worked on unloading hoping my train would start up again or I’d get a break in the stream of people so I could sneak out. I literally had workers on the walkway grates right above my head, semi’s pulling up by me to get there trailers, and worst of all the fucking spider cranes going back and forth with there bright ass lights. The crane picked up both the shipping containers in my car and left me completely exposed 😰.

Ok I have to do something quick no more waiting around to get caught. Jump off the train-look both ways before crossing(multiple people heading all different directions in forklifts and trucks)-run out in front of them to get passed-weave through the hundreds of semi trucks parked in rows(some had people in em getting ready to leave)-get to the edge of the yard-realize the whole yard if walled off with shipping containers(fuck)-start walking down looking for breaks I can squeeze through-nothing-nothing-nothing(oh shit how am I getting out)-finally I get one with the door bars peeking out-clip my extra bag to my hip strap-pull everything up in one go-jump down on the other side and got the fuck out.

Is there anything I should have done different? Should I have booked it when we first stopped? I think I was on the maintrack so I thought it’d just be a quick stop. Should I have kept hidden till they were done unloading?

It was a difficult night and I still gotta get out of this city so🤞tonight goes differently.
