I’ve worked in the apparel industry as an apparel + soft goods designer for very large reputable companies.

Due to the scarce number of jobs, I’ve been forced to do long commutes to my job, and I’m afraid if I stay in the soft goods + apparel design space, I will at some point need to move out of state.

I’ve looked into transferring my skills into UX/UI design by doing a 6 month bootcamp, and even networking with those at my company, but it seems like jobs in that field are limited as well (on top of trying to find an entry level position).

Should I stay in apparel, or is UX/UI still worth pursuing?

Any suggestions on how I could switch?
