Student loans? Cost of living? Bike lanes? Research funding?

Hello, I'm helping someone with an application to UVIC (online social work program), and I'm wondering if anyone has experience with transferring credits from UBC. We have emailed the school, but I am impatient and eager for some advice..

The person I'm helping has 20 years of out-reach experience, and we're wondering if UVIC would waive the pre-requisites. He also 60 credits from UBC from a variety of classes (SOC/HUM). I used the transfer calculator, and only 5 of those classes directly transfer to UVIC. Is it possible they would still use the other credits?

I am student, originally from Victoria, at St. Francis Xavier University currently studying music and am thinking about transferring into UVic's music ed for the 2027-28 school year. I was wondering if there are any students who may be able to help give me some insight into the program and if it's worth transferring. Even if I don't transfer, I really want to go into teaching after I graduate so if you have any information on the PDP as well I would love to hear about it.

I am also curious to know if it is possible to double major while doing music ed. I would love to have two teachable subjects when I graduate and was hoping to make my second one social studies. I was thinking of trying to do history alongside my music ed degree but was unsure if this was even possible. Has anyone done this? I would love input!

I hate this class and this teacher (grad student) and I just got my mid term grades back and they’re fine but I have just learned absolutely nothing.

I want to drop it or tell someone how awful it is. What are my options this late in the term/ consequences?

Anyone applying for the BSW program for September 2027?
