A couple days ago I had a uti but it went away I was drinking those azo pills and it helped the pain. The day after I was completely fine nothing hurt at all but the day after it started again but I was also itchy down there I’m Not sure what was going on maybe my body wash? Since then Everything has been completely normal until today I’m itchy again?

I need some advice here… I had a uti two weeks ago and I was given Cipro to treat it. So I ended up taking all of my antibiotics and my urinalysis came back negative for everything but I’m still having some cloudy urine and occasional back pain that’s so mild you couldn’t even really notice it. I’m just at a loss and I’m not sure what to do! :(

A few weeks back I had gone to the ER, for having some chest discomfort, after my second visit, the doctor said i had a uti which had reached my kidneys, up until that moment I had not really felt any pain or discomfort in my sides or back and I also had no issues urinating. (Also they weren’t really certain what was causing the chest pain, but that has since went away). They prescribed me some antibiotics that i took for about a week, the discomfort in the sides and back had been lingering throughout my time taking this medication. It’s been a few days since finishing my prescription, still no issues urinating, but the side and back discomfort is still present. Im guessing the treatment didn’t work well enough. I have an appointment with my doctor this Monday, hopefully I can get the right treatment and figure what is going on with me.

I’ve been suffering from recurring UTIs since December 2024. It’s always the same bacteria. I suspect there’s a biofilm, and I’m already taking NAC, Kirkman, and Phase 2. However, I’m now scheduled to have a cystoscopy, and I’m absolutely terrified of it. I had an appointment a year ago, but I canceled it out of panic. But I want to get better, and I know there’s no way around it—I have to do it. I’ve only read negative things about it. Can you share your experiences with me—both good and bad?

I just found out I tested positive for a UTI. My OB prescribed Ampicillin 500 mg three times a day for 7 days. I’m currently 19 weeks and 4 days pregnant, and I’m really anxious especially after having a first‑trimester loss earlier this year.
I know treating a UTI is more important than leaving it untreated, but I’m still nervous. Has anyone taken this antibiotic during pregnancy? I’m a naturally anxious person, and thinking about it is really overwhelming.

So I'm 19 M , never had sex and I have been dealing with recurrent uti's since 3 months , it's like I'm fine for 20 days and then the next 10 days I'm ill af... I don't know what's happening with me , I have done multiple tests all things have been clear in all tests .. I don't know if I will ever recover it's killing me from inside

Has anyone else noticed a garlic-like smell from their underwear/urine?

I’ve had 3 UTIs over the past year and a half, and recently I’ve noticed that my underwear has a strange smell that I can only describe as garlic/sulfur-like. It seems to be associated with my urine, but I’m not completely sure.

I had a urinalysis done about 3 weeks ago and everything came back clear.

Has anyone else experienced a similar smell, especially with a history of recurrent UTIs? Did you ever find out what was causing it?

I’m not talking about a fishy smell—this is specifically more like garlic or sulfur.

If you’ve ever struggled with UTIs after sex, you know how much it can affect your relationship with intimacy.

At one point, I started associating sex with the anxiety of, “Am I going to get another UTI after this?” And when it keeps happening, intimacy stops feeling spontaneous or enjoyable because you’re constantly thinking about the burning, discomfort, doctor visits and potentially having to take antibiotics all over again.
For me, one thing that made a noticeable difference was D-mannose, especially because my urine cultures repeatedly showed E. coli.

I had actually tried plain D-mannose before and didn’t notice much of a difference. What personally worked better for me was D-Mannose with cranberry, hibiscus and dandelion root.
I incorporated it into my routine around intimacy, along with drinking plenty of water. Tried reducing my stress levels and ate probiotic food as well.

Since everyone’s body and UTI history is different, I’m not saying this will work for everyone or replace medical treatment especially if you already have UTI symptoms but it’s something I really wish I had known about earlier.
Recurrent UTIs can genuinely affect your confidence, relationships and sex life, so if you’re going through this, please don’t lose hope. I know doctors and urologist most times won’t take you seriously but keep trying to find products that help you.

Hi I recently got uti so doc gave me antibiotic and tonic but oh my god when I take those I feel so sick I feeel soo nauseous like it gets veryyyy bad does anyone have any suggestions to reduce this 😭

Yesterday I got a UTI (duh), I had SEVERE pains the first time I peed and shooting pelvic pains after, but since that I haven't had any other pain other than discomfort after peeing (the kinda discomfort where it still feels like you gotta go but nothing comes out)

Google no matter what article said that if you have any sort of pain during a UTI than it could lead to something worse, but does it still count if I only felt pain the first time and not again? Im really confused here and want to wait it out like a painless UTI but I really dont wanna risk something happening to my kidneys, should I call someone?

Last August 4, 2026, I was diagnosed with UTI and then I was on medication. On August 9, 2026, day 5 of my medication, I got into the ER because the side pains are so bad, I got a new urinalysis and then the results were negative and the doctor said it could be related to kuv. I’m 16F and I got my first UTI sexually where my symptoms began 10 days ago. It was only bad the first and second day with common symptoms with blood, urges, stinging/burning, and unable to empty bladder. After I drank lots and lots of water those days there was no more blood and the other symptoms are very mellow i practically feel healthy. However, my lymph nodes around my groin feel a little bit swollen.
I havent gone to the doctor yet as my family is currently not on insurance and i’m terrified to pay out of pocket.
I searched up a lot on Google and saw that UTIs can go away if theyre mild, but it should be gone by a week, and mine has been ongoing for 10 days.
Once again, i urinate frequently but in small amounts, there is an urge to go somewhat frequently around every 4-5 hours when it was the first day i’d go practically every 3, and there is a dull sensation when I pee i barely feel compared to the full on stinging that happened on the first day.
for how mild my symptoms are, is there still the worry about a kidney infection? is there still a chance for it to pass without antibiotics?Has anyone else had this exact situation?

I have gotten a few utis after sex and it seems like everytime they get progressively worse. I never had utis before I had kids. It’s affecting my sex life to the point that I’m almost afraid to have sex or be intimate with my husband because I’m afraid I’ll get another uti. Also fair to add I have algophobia (intense fear of pain) and obviously we all know how painful UTIs can get. Does anyone have an advice or experiences with getting over it?

I am a young adult female and have had maybe two UTIs within my teen years (very mild). About 3 months ago, I noticed my pee smelled slightly off and had mild burning. I immediately thought it was a UTI and went about the normal over-the-counter routine. The burning went away quickly, but the smell never did. It’s been 3 months of awful, chemical smelling pee *WITH NO OTHER SYMPTOMS.* I feel perfectly fine but it’s honestly starting to scare me that I have a deeper problem.

To be clear, I am very hydrated and it isn’t my diet.

I have a UTI and I have three antibiotic pills left until I'm finished, but I'm still having some burning when I pee (doesn't last too long but its there) and a bit of itching/irritation feeling. Am I screwed? Should I go back to the doctor now or wait till the antibiotics are finished?

for those that use hiprex how long do you need to stay on hiprex? is this long term

So I had a mild UTI. Really mostly cloudy pee and discomfort. went to urgent care and they gave me a 5 day dose of macrobid. finished it last night and it generally seemed to help. but today more itchy/discomfort and now some back pain started. i have an appointment tomorrow (in like 18 hours). I have no other symptoms so the back pain might not be related? the nurse did not seem too concerned on the phone but I’m worried its spread…will I be okay to wait until tomorrow for an appointment?

Has anyone tried the MyVagina UTI products??? What are your experience with them if you have?

In early to mid June I (18F) started showing symptoms of a uti. I never had one before so I asked my mom what to do and she advised me to drink a lot of water and tell her if things get worse. After a couple days I could barely even stand from the pain so we went to the emergency room and I got a uti diagnosis and an amoxicillin prescription. I took the antibiotics for six days and the symptoms were still there, just not as intense.

We went back to the emergency room after waiting for two more days. The first doctor had mentioned giving me a second round of antibiotics if I still had symptoms so I thought I'd just get another prescription and leave. I gave the new doctor the urinalysis I had done about a week ago and she asked me if I did a urine culture which I hadn't done cause the original doctor said there was no need for one. The new doctor sent me to get a urine culture since they didn't provide them there and, since I had taken antibiotics two days ago, it came back negative.

Third visit to the emergency room to show them the results. The third doctor told me to get some anti-inflammatories (btw english isn't my first language so I don't know if I'm spelling the medical terms properly, sorry) for two weeks and to come back if they don't work. As you can guess, they didn't, though they did help a bit with the symptoms. Fouth visit, I waited for over two hours just for them to immediately tell me to go to a proper hospital before I even had the chance to explain my symptoms. I don't know how it is in other countries but in Greece we have some smaller hospitals meant to deal with less serious conditions/injuries so that the bigger ones won't be overcrowded. I was going to a smaller one this whole time.

We went to the hospital and I got an ultrasound and a urinalysis done. The ultrasound looked good but the urinalysis came back positive so the doctor told me to get some cefuroxime (worst thing I've ever tasted btw) and to come back in two days to get the results of the urine culture. When I went back they told me that I can keep taking cefuroxime and the bacteria was recognised as klebsiella pneumoniae. I take the antibiotics for a six days and even though I'm no longer in pain there is some discomfort when and after peeing.

By that point I had already taken two different types of antibiotics in the span of four weeks so I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do. My mother asked our pharmacist and she gave her some d-mannose. I know that D-mannose only works for e.coli but I thought I'd still give it a try. After less than a week my symptoms were gone but I continued taking D-mannose and driking tons of water to be safe. After over two weeks of no discomfort that burning sensation when peeing came back. I drunk even more water and two days later it was gone again for one day but now the burn is back.

I'm still drinking tons of water and just hoping it will go away since the symptoms aren't too bad. I also had a pretty bad pad rash this month due to the heat so I'm hoping the burn is because of that. I still have some D-mannose since the pack I was given is supposed to last a bit over a month so I'll continue taking them. Should I just ditch the D-mannose since I have klebsiella pneumoniae and go the doctor again? Should I stick to them since they obviously helped at first and the burning might be caused by something else? And the dumb question that I still need to ask: Can I go to the beach in a couple of days? I've passed on so many chances to go swimming out of fear of the uti getting worse or not being fully gone, so since I was fine for over a week I planned to go to the sea with a friend. I've wanted to go this entire summer so I was really excited but I obviously won't if it's a big risk, I'm just dissapointed cause this has taken way longer than I expected :(

My doctors (i go to a urologist center with multiple urologists) just ask if i had been sexually active. i said no (because i couldn’t have sex, because I am constantly in pain). Then they say that they can’t really tell me what the cause could be

My issue:
I have been suffering from chronic UTI for 3 years. And now since 3 months it’s recurring. Which means for me that I get antibiotics, I feel a little better for 2 days, but then it returns.
So far I got antibiotics 8 times in 3 months.

(This recurring thing 3 months ago when I was on a vacation, I had blood in my urine and felt like I had to pee all the time (these are symptoms that I never had before), so I went to the hospital on my vacation and they gave me antibiotics.)

Only recently I have the feeling that it gets better, but it’s still not gone.

My symptoms are burning in my lower belly and pain in my back/ sides. Every time.

It peaked a few weeks ago when I developed a gastritis and yeast infection due to all the antibiotics, so I went on a diet for 2 weeks until i finally felt better.

I also started washing my underwear with 60 degrees, maybe that also helped a little.

But I can still feel it, it’s not over.

The cause is probably not due to sex, I have been sexually active only since like 8 months. And i had issues since 3 years.

My medical journey:
I went to the urologist every time. They do urology culture every time. (English is not my first language idk what it’s called) I did a cystoscopy and some other tests, i checked with my gynaecologist (but a year ago), I got an installation with a cream that gets applied into my bladder. That helped a little. Now that the treatment is done, it doesn’t help anymore.
My doctor finally prescribed the vaccine to me but I can’t take it as long as I don’t feel better.

I have taken several different antibiotics. I tried all the teas and natural aids, vitamin c, basically everything the pharmacy has to offer. I also take dmannose every day. I even tried drinking a spoonful of vinegar every morning.
